  2. What I think a large number of pundits and fans alike seem to forget or have not actually realized, is that this Oregon team is suppose to be a rebuilding/reloading team compared to the other top teams in the nation. The significant number of freshman starting on both sides of the ball plus new faces on both O and D lines, and a "new" starting QB that has performed better than expected, based on previous starting performances, had most thinking a minor stepback would occur (guess going from #1 seed to a #5 is a "stepback?). But, here we are with probably a better chance to "run the table" than we did last season. If Dante actually does return next season then OBD will be an even stronger unit and actually in a better position to compete in 2026 than they were this season. Which, I'm sure, is a scary, scary thought for not only the B1G, but the rest of NFL-lite football. 🦆🏈🪨's!
  3. This is an unlocked article from the Wall Street Journal. They make it look like you have to sign up but you do not. This approach sounds revolutionary to me. https://www.wsj.com/sports/football/indiana-curt-cignetti-fernando-mendoza-510bc45a?st=mWeLJR&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink
  4. I do believe all the "outrage" is to strongarm the NFL-lite participants into accepting "terms" they might not necessarily want or agree with. IE: eight to nine conference games for SEC/ACC. Push for automatic qualifiers for top two mega-conferences. The continued dilution of the importance of the conference championship games. The bottom falling out of the mass amounts of "bowl games" that play to mostly empty stadiums with "depleted" rosters from opt outs. The narrative to include other (Western state) "bowls" via Vegas/SOFI stadium to even out playoff travel during an ever expanding playoff qualifiers size. And the one, thorny, money-centric, issue of a supposedly annual championship contender, NOT playing in a conference with a somewhat equal number of home/away games, instead of the "pick and choose" scheduling allowing up to 9 home games to be played as an independent. Yeah, the Entire NFL-lite be looking, Hard, at you Notre Dame! Basically it is easier to piss off and inconvenience people into accepting your... intentions...if you let the unfairness run it's course till the peoples, organizations, fans, and money brokers (Oh Wait! The money brokers are actually the ones "breaking it to fix it" according to the business plans they want in place, sorry) are screaming for the change that was wanted initially in the first place by the powers that be. In the end it will become what is wanted and needed to continue to pimp and grow the NFL-lite model envisioned. As long as OBD is competing annually in whatever iteration of NFL-lite playoffs, I be a Happy Man! Go Ducks! 🦆
  5. Thanks for the update David. I do wonder with how well Malik Benson and Jeremiah McClellan have played, how do you take them off the field? I guess this is a good problem to have, Our depth at WR is so good, are we now in a position to challenge THE Ohio State University for the title Wide Receiver U?

  7. Odds improve for Oregon to capture 1st College Football National ChampionshipAutzen ZooOdds improve for Oregon to capture 1st College Football N...Twenty-four hours after the release of the College Football Playoff bracket, FanDuel and other betting sites have updated the odds to win the championship.
  8. Justin Herbert showed everyone his toughness last night on Monday Night Football. True Grit! Jamaree Caldwell and Troy Dye involved in a most unusual play. 3 turnovers (an interception by a def. lineman and two fumbles). Go Ducks! Autzen ZooThree Pro Ducks save the day in SoFi with grit, one weird...After the game reporters asked Justin Herbert when he knew he'd be playing Monday night. Last week against the Raiders he broke his left (nonthrowing) hand.
  9. It will be fun to watch a potentially healthy Duck team later this month. The next man up mantra was alive and well with OBD's this season. Since the loss to IU, the Ducks offense has fought thru weather and injuries and improved every week. But you are correct David, there is room for improvement. Playing JMU should give the O an opportunity to play smash mouth football and find that rythim needed to go deep in the playoffs. Hopefully, having all the #1's and #2's on the field against JMU will help them knock the rust off and be ready for the Red Raiders The Red Raiders defense is solid and aggressive for sure. However, they didn't have a difficult schedule to navigate. They had only 1 close game, ASU, and they lost that game. Are they battle tested? OBD's will bring a well balanced attack with future NFL players at most positions. The Duck O will need their best game to be victorious! Without fail, the Duck D will be the best D that TT has faced all season. Go Ducks, let's take care of business against JMU so we can get after TT. It's all out in front of you for the taking. Go Ducks!
  10. Oregon just finished the season 11-1, but the journey isn’t over yet. For the vast majority of college football playoff history, the end of the regular season means one or two more games and a time to wrap up the season, and 11 wins is a good season. However, with the 12-team playoff, the Ducks are now gearing up for ... The Oregon Offense is Still Growing
  11. Maybe his mission was in Kenya, and he has been training in extreme topography and altitude. 🤞🏼
  12. I don't see anything that would disqualify Novosad one day from petitioning for a 6th year due to an injury this year that lingered and kept him out of games (outside of an emergency). The 6th year may not be a for sure thing (but if so) I imagine everything is being done to maximize his chances within the rules (including not making a bunch of unnecessay statements to please curious fans and media). Pre-NIL and settlement, missing out on a 6th year wasn't as big a deal; but, now, it can mean a bunch of money. Maalik Murphy got $1.5 million from OSU to go 2-10. Under the old rules where transfering was rare if a coach wanted to burn a year for 20 snaps, it nearly always happened. Now if a coach is making those kinds of calls, players are in the portal. After the injury, if Novosad decided it shut it down outside of an emergency, I have little doubt Dan would be behind it. Tip of the cap for hanging in for 2025. It makes more sense to me than Novosad totally falling off a cliff.
  13. Whatever he was in high school, that was some time ago and he has not been training with the team. Maybe he has been doing some things on his own? I hope so. If he turned into a couch potato, it might be too late. I hope he has been running every day he was gone.
  14. I would like to remind everybody that what we have seen from all the backups is a very small sample size that does not indicate in any way which ones would or would not work out in a real competitive game. So we are biased by recruiting stars and offers and things like that. For the rest of this season, I don't think they have a backup plan. It is Dante or nothing. Like Dennis Dixon in 2007. Dan Lanning has been putting it all together so far and I am sure he has a plan for 2026. I am just going to hope Dante stays good for a few more games this year. If not, I don't expect to win.
  15. Wow. That is so gross. It’s possible that they might only play two teams that are over 0.500 next year (USC and Miami) and both at at home. If they lose to anyone but Miami, they should be automatically out.
  16. The reality is that championship games need to go away and that weekend should just be play in games... put some of those teams against each other and see who is actually worthy of those final spots.
  17. I'd love to see a playoff of teams that think they were robbed of a playoff spot. It would be hysterical. Sit back and grab some popcorn as you watch SUC go down to Vanderbilt. Watch with glee as BYU shuts up Notre Dame. Fire up the BBQ as Texas finds a way to blow it against ACC champs Duke. By the time the dust finally settles only one team will have a legitimate complaint. The rest will be searching in the excuse drawer to find the perfect reason why they were robbed and if just a couple plays were different, they'd be national champions.

  20. Hope they enjoy the rust that they will likely carry into their first game.
  21. Strike while the Dome is hot! Cancel ND without delay. Many pac-12 teams have open dates. No reason to inflate the postseason MIA (😁) Domers schedule. To Wit: In the fall of 2026, the Gurus of Grapevine No. 1 Hosers will battle No(t) Texas - The Somewhat Ticked Off Green, Howard's (Endangered) Bisons, and some Western Kentucky guys who, like Uncle Bill, have a still on the top of a hill.
