It's Easy to ACC that Champ Games Should Disappear
Tony Petitti's expanded PO plan includes a flex schedule for the final game of the regular season to determine the Big Ten's 4 automatic qualifiers. 2nd place plays at 1st place; both teams are in the PO. 3rd place hosts 6th place, and 4th hosts fifth; the two winners advance along with the top 2 teams. When you look at the difference in in-conference SOS, this makes sense, as does the balance of Petitti's plan for today's mega-conferences. Those of us who have been around for a while recall Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany being laughed out of the room for thinking that a network devoted to a single conference's sports would work. Jim Delaney got the last laugh, and I think Tony Petitti could be joining Jim. This season, I think Jim Phillips should have stepped in and had 10-2 Miami and 10-2 UVA playing for a conference title. Simply using the Committee rankings to break total record ties would have accomplished this.

Oregon’s Answer to the 12-Personnel Meta
This defense has worked great before the red zone. I think there are some schematic problems for our red zone defense. Letting a touchdown happen from 4th and 8 against Washington kinda highlights the problem. That shouldn't have happened. It looks like there was a bit of a rub on the play that got Boston open but still... shouldn't have happened. However, this team holds teams to less than 15 points per game so I can't complain too much.

It's Easy to ACC that Champ Games Should Disappear
Yeah. I suspect the ACC will take a close look at that. You could just slot the top 2 ranked teams in the CFP rankings. That would actually make more sense with the unbalanced schedules for all the P4 conferences.

It's Easy to ACC that Champ Games Should Disappear
I like the championship games despite their flaws as currently implemented. I imagine going forward conferences will want to: Retain the extra guaranteed revenue from the conference championship. Send their best one, two or three teams to the natty whenever possible. Make the division record matter. Balancing those considerations, I think there are two options: Shrink the conference so that everyone plays everyone...PAC10 style. Implement some hybrid rules: Maybe the top two ranked play each other, etc. I favor the second option.

What If....
What gets me is that the people who insist on standing (fortunately, this is only occasionally in front of me) do not cheer! They stand there with their arms folded across their chests. I don't get, I just don't get it.

What If....
Depends on who made the NCG…there have been years I’ve skipped it. My attention is easily lost when it’s random teams or some conference rematch from the regular season in the final. When I want both teams to lose I don’t care who gets the glory. That LSU/Ole Miss will be epic no matter what, gimme that.

What If....
I imagine Kitten will have an armored executive limo delivering him to/from the locker room and field, from now, until he hits the state of Mississippi... As far as the original question, I'd like a private set in a lounge theater style setup of a viewing room, for no more than 20 friends and family, similar to the huge watch party setup tOSU fans were pictured attending during the Michigan game this year. An acceptable compromise could expand said venue to suitably accommodate members of fd.com... (I'ma MAN! I'm 72! I have my standards!)

Critical CFP questions
The NCAA bowed to the monies of those that sponsored major bowl games for decades. Logistics for a D1 playoff system was apparently beyond their imagination, and pay grade. Fast forward, and we now have a CFP with growing pains, outside the NCAA’s control. The decision by committee style leadership of the CFP will always be problematic. Every decision makes someone unhappy. At this stage, I have given up paying much attention to proposals, and decisions, that make sense. Money determines the outcome, and as fans, we will end up paying the price. Ultimately, I could see sports playoffs as a stupidly priced streaming package.

What If....
With the game being played in Oxford, Pelican State Governor Jeff Landry likely promised Lane that the entire Louisiana National Guard would be deployed to guard Lane on the way, with a platoon or three stationed on the visitor sideline. 🤪 Throw out the records, GameDay will be there.

What If....
The National Championship for multiple reasons. The first reason is I have no desire to sit and watch their crowd curse Lane Kiffin for 3-4 hours. The second is Oxford is not easy to get to. The closest major city for hotels and airport is Memphis which is reason enough not to go. The third reason is the national championship game is being played in Miami Gardens this year and Vegas next year. Both have airports and hotels close to the venue as well as good transportation and entertainment. The fourth and final reason is it's almost always a pretty great game.
