  1. Past hour
  2. Hes going to miss Oregon's Nil $$$ especially in the SEC.
  3. I kinda doubt it... That would burn a bridge with Lanning and I have a feeling he wouldn't want to do that. Coaches talk a lot behind the scenes and burning a bridge by stealing recruits out the door is something that would burn those bridges real fast. Besides there might some transfers out of Oregon that he would be interested in landing and that would be mutually beneficial for all involved. Not to say that couldnt happen in addition to stealing recruits.
  4. Doesn't bother me at all...
  5. Lanning was hired by Oregon on December 11. He coached in Georgia's last game on January 11. He probably has as good a feel for what to expect from Stein as anyone could have.
  6. Today
  7. We'll miss you, Will, where the grass is damn green. Best of luck on the bluegrass. Bear Bryant won an SEC title at Kentucky; why not Will?
  8. I have a lot of confidence that Coach Lanning will make the absolute best decision regarding Stein's continued leadership (or lack thereof) throughout the playoffs. No one is more locked in than DL. Go Ducks!
  9. Not sure he should stay, too much of a distraction with a lot of time before offs. Id regroup with one of the other offensive coaches.
  10. The early signing period will occur while Oregon is still alive in the playoffs and Stein is invested in his current job. In addition, Oregon's 2026 class is essentially nailed down with very few flip targets to poach. Stein will be more worried about retaining the recruits that Stoops was going to bring to Kentucky. It's like when MariØ bolted to Miami and DL had to start from scratch to retain recruits and find gems (think Bo, Bucky and Gonzo) in the portal. I can't think of one high impact player that followed him to Oregon from Georgia. I could see Novosad and maybe some 3s and a second stringer or two heading east, but for the most part Stein will have to build it himself from the ground up.
  11. Maybe one or two, but I highly doubt any of the upper echelon folks would leave Oregon for Kentucky.
  12. Hope he doesn't steal recruits as the day approaches.
  13. Glad he is leaving. Good luck in Kentucky.
  14. What if Indy beats osu by 30, are the Ducks still the floor? Common opponent and the sameish record, 1 L
  15. Good on him. Worked well for Rich Brooks. Wishing him the best wherever he lands.
  16. Troy Dye plays for the Chargers but I don't recall seeing him in the game.
  17. Sorry to see Will move on but congratulations on the HC position at Kentucky. He has deep personal and family ties to the Wildcats football program. Thee University and fan base will welcome Will with open arms. Thank you for the amazing run with OBD's, best of success in your future and remember, run the ball!
  18. Stein will reportedly stay on and call plays throughout Oregon's CFP run.
  19. Saw this on 247
  20. Tony Petitti's expanded PO plan includes a flex schedule for the final game of the regular season to determine the Big Ten's 4 automatic qualifiers. 2nd place plays at 1st place; both teams are in the PO. 3rd place hosts 6th place, and 4th hosts fifth; the two winners advance along with the top 2 teams. When you look at the difference in in-conference SOS, this makes sense, as does the balance of Petitti's plan for today's mega-conferences. Those of us who have been around for a while recall Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany being laughed out of the room for thinking that a network devoted to a single conference's sports would work. Jim Delaney got the last laugh, and I think Tony Petitti could be joining Jim. This season, I think Jim Phillips should have stepped in and had 10-2 Miami and 10-2 UVA playing for a conference title. Simply using the Committee rankings to break total record ties would have accomplished this.

  22. This defense has worked great before the red zone. I think there are some schematic problems for our red zone defense. Letting a touchdown happen from 4th and 8 against Washington kinda highlights the problem. That shouldn't have happened. It looks like there was a bit of a rub on the play that got Boston open but still... shouldn't have happened. However, this team holds teams to less than 15 points per game so I can't complain too much.
  23. Yeah. I suspect the ACC will take a close look at that. You could just slot the top 2 ranked teams in the CFP rankings. That would actually make more sense with the unbalanced schedules for all the P4 conferences.
  24. I like the championship games despite their flaws as currently implemented. I imagine going forward conferences will want to: Retain the extra guaranteed revenue from the conference championship. Send their best one, two or three teams to the natty whenever possible. Make the division record matter. Balancing those considerations, I think there are two options: Shrink the conference so that everyone plays everyone...PAC10 style. Implement some hybrid rules: Maybe the top two ranked play each other, etc. I favor the second option.
  25. What gets me is that the people who insist on standing (fortunately, this is only occasionally in front of me) do not cheer! They stand there with their arms folded across their chests. I don't get, I just don't get it.
  26. Depends on who made the NCG…there have been years I’ve skipped it. My attention is easily lost when it’s random teams or some conference rematch from the regular season in the final. When I want both teams to lose I don’t care who gets the glory. That LSU/Ole Miss will be epic no matter what, gimme that.
