  5. Report: Fox, Big Ten want Dave Portnoy to be conference fanboy to counter ESPN, SEC Portnoy will join Urban Meyer, Matt Leinart, Brady Quinn, Mark Ingram, Chris “The Bear” Fallica and Rob Stone on Big Noon Kickoff. While each of Portnoy’s co-hosts are widely regarded as respected voices in college football, they don’t have the same influence as a pundit like Paul Finebaum. Moreover, they don’t have the personality of someone such as ESPN College GameDay‘s Pat McAfee. According to Ourand, Fox hopes Portnoy can bring both of these desired traits to Big Noon Kickoff, and reel in massive ratings as a result. 6. As part of the Oregon Ducks closing the summer off season, the team hikes Spencer Butte in honor of fallen teammates Khyree Jackson and Spencer Webb before beginning fall camp. Ducks coach Dan Lanning addressed the team in a video posted on social media. For the third year in a row, the Oregon Ducks football team came together for a hike to honor two passed former Ducks: tight end Spencer Webb and cornerback Khyree Jackson. "So look, we do this every single year," Lanning said at the top of the butte. "Some of you guys know, some of you don't know, why we do that. We have a fallen brother. Spencer Webb. We have another fallen brother, Khyree Jackson, that don't get to sit where you're sitting right now. Part of this team, lost too soon and we don't get the opportunity to enjoy that moment with them anymore so part of this is remembrance for those guys who were a part of our team. Once you're part of our team, you're forever a part of our team." "The other piece that you walk away with is that this is the end of summer," Lanning continued. "We just finished our summer workout and right now you should have a sense of accomplishment. But you've also got to realize there's more on that plate to eat and you want to finish the plate." 7. Finebaum, who has spent months listening to SEC fans vent about the 2024 season on his radio show, insists that the majority of college football followers aren’t ready to write off the conference just yet. But another underwhelming season would leave them truly shaken. “I understand the narrative, but for now I think it’s way premature. A two-year sample is simply not enough,” he said. “[But] if we’re sitting here having a cup of coffee at the national championship game and the SEC isn’t in it, that will be the moment. The angst will come.”
  8. Wait A Minute! I thought every SEC schedule was a brutal challenge like no other in the known universe! 10. Valid concerns, but Day is a great play caller and QB developer when he gets out of his own way. The 2023 Peach Bowl vs Georgia showed me that.
  11. Here's the USC vs UO history dating back to 1990 by decade. 90's: UO 3 SUC 4 (from 94-99 UO went 3-1). 00's: UO 4 SUC 4 (this includes one vacated win by SUC). 10's: UO 4 SUC 2 20's: UO 2 SUC 0 Total: UO 13 SUC 10 SUC doesn't pull even with UO until going all the way all the way back to 1984! So for the last 40 years these two schools are dead even. From the Kenny Wheaton's gonna score year and minus the vacated win, the record is UO 13-6. As long as Lanning is running the show, I'd expect the trend of the last couple decades to continue.
  12. I've never had a "hate" towards Beavis football. The last time i hated Beavis was in the 70's and it was basketball, Lonnie Shelton, Ricky Lee. UCLA, again mainly basketball, though Cade McNown to Danny Farmer was horrific! USC? It is the classic match-up. For a while, with Leinart & Reggie Bush, the Trojans were on top. But then the Ducks started taking players out of USC's neighborhood, DAT personified it. The columnists started writing about it. Leinart, Bush talked about it, and the Ducks keep on winning. USC is a blueblood afterthought now, and Riley< Lanning. Washington? You nailed it.

  15. Right now our traditional rivals that we actually still play rank as such. Washington USC Oregon State UCLA UCLA fans are tepid on their own program, let alone ours which is why they rank last here but who knows when we'll play another former Pac-12 opponent. Beavis hates us more than we hate them at this point so at least there is some hate involved. USC and Oregon was a blue blood v new blood game and they Trojans want to put us in our place. We want to put the Trojans in their grave and bury the old timers. Loads of hate to go around. Then... Washington... Need I say more? No one is over looking this game between us and USC.
  16. Will a charging Bear create turnover’s for the secondary? I am keen to watch the reconstituted secondary and game one should result in highlights for the DB’s. Let the Ducks out!!!! They will be strong in all position groups.
  17. This is the Greg McElroy that told us he knew a guy who knew a guy that is sure there's a chance that Saban might not be done with coaching. Go with the Over.
  18. NO! The week before SC, Week 12, versus Minnesota has trap potential—a Friday night game after playing at Iowa, and with the Gophers not playing in Week 11. This is the only B1G hiccup in a very favorable 2025 schedule. Everyone gets up for the Trojans, even if Troy is down. The next week closes the regular season at UW, but I don't think there's a chance that OBD overlooks SC. I think over 7.5 wins at -118 for Troy is a very good bet. USC was 1-5 in one-score games in 2024. I also think UW will go over 7.5 wins. Greg McElroy disagrees. To date, Jedd Fisch is undefeated in Husky Stadium. I think UW loses at home to Ohio State and OBD, but defeats Illinois in Seattle. I think that Minnesota will go over 4.5 wins. The Gophers finished 8-5 in 2024-25 with a solid bowl win, 24-10, over VA Tech in Charlotte. On3Washington 2025 win total: Greg McElroy offers analysis o....
  19. SUC is trapped in their own delusions of grandeur. They have assembled a mercenary roster similar to the one AnM bought a few years back. With an over rated Riley in charge, I expect similar results.
  20. It is like playing the Huskies...their win/loss record doesn't matter. You can't beat them often enough, or by enough points...
  21. Just completed my first season with my OBD dynasty in the NCAA 26 game. Unfolded in ways I wouldn’t have imagined, but could certainly happen. Went 11-0, but lost in Seattle in OT, then lost the rematch to PSU in the B1G title game, ending up 11-2. Still got an 11 seed and won a playoff games at Baylor before winning the rubber match against PSU 😝 Sadly lost a squeaker in the semis and Miami won it all 🤢 🤮
  22. This great! I'll never think a loss is "good" for Oregon, though it sure would have been better considering the CFP format last year if OBD and PSU had traded places, but this game is "Must Win" for Penn State, not for Oregon. In another article I saw, the writer said that the game against Oregon was huge for USC, a win for USC would be a "Statement!" That's where Oregon is now.
  23. I’d say no. That game is late enough in the year that USC will either be riding high or about to dump their coach. If they’re 9-1 they’ll be in the top-10 and have our attention, if they’re 6-4 they’ll be discussing hiring Nick Saban and in the tank.
  24. The game against the Trojans seems to fit the criteria. OBD have beaten the Trojans 7 of the last 10 times they've played, 4 of the last 5. This time the game comes between a tussle with the Golden Gophers on a Friday night, and a trip up North to take on the mangy mutts.
  25. Keep It up! The more pressure on James, the better for OBD. After consuming three cupcakes and then taking a nap, how ready will PSU be when the ball bounces OBD's way in the Nits first real game? https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/career-defining-year-for-james-franklin-why-penn-state-coach-is-set-up-to-change-narrative-in-2025-season/
  26. USC is in the top 10 of schools with the most wealthy alumnus. Its a pretty impressive list. Also they are number 8 on the list with the most billionaires as graduates. Those 18 graduates billionaores have a combined wealth just north of $58 billion. The Trojan debt is simply a drop in the bucket, however front runner alumni only donate to champions! I am so suprised that the trojan athletic department has not blamed this debt on the Oregon Ducks and demanded PK pay it off for them. Afterall, somewhere in their fight song is a subliminal message that signals, if we have a problem it's the Ducks fault. GO DUCKS.........
  27. Last week
  28. This same question came to my head as well. I do not feel that competition is over quite yet. Luckily, I am confident in our options.
  29. What I've really missed watching was the Duck RB, who turned the corner, saw the green in front of him and it was "Touchdown!" Is Makhi Hughes going to fill the bill?
