  2. Absolute garbage IMO. However, NIL was the support needed for a realistic expanded playoff. It has leveled the playing field. The top 4 has quality but who looks unbeatable? Nobody. Before NIL, we had some clarify cut top echelon teams by years end. Now those teams lose so many players from year to year as well as teams can’t horde every 5* for the last 5 years. This has made teams more even with personnel. Personally, 16 is enough. .750 record is a quality team. .666 team has no business in the playoffs. That’s just plain mediocrity. But, we will go to 24 or 48 or 96. So, tell me, what will the season look like if you have a 5 game post season? Thaaaaaats a-laaaahhhttt!
  3. Now the Ducks need to produce the highlights to photograph! CURB THOSE DAWGS TODAY
  4. Stricklin is one of the worst ADs in the sport. His promise was a proven P4 coach, last I checked, Tulane is in the AAC. If this isn't just a smokescreen, Stricklin needs to be gone before Monday. A defensive minded AAC coach, instead of an alum. Brent Key, Kenny Dillingham, Leah Clark, Sonny Sitaki, Jeff Brohm, and even that sleaze all Jim Harbaugh , all have shown what a coach can do in getting everyone bought in, when it's a guy at his alma mater. The buy in, the commitment, the genuine love. It's just different.

  6. https://www.foxsports.com/stories/college-football/rj-youngs-24-team-college-football-playoff-bracket-entering-week-12 This article actually makes sense to me. I don't necessarily like the fact that some teams just don't qualify in my opinion, but settling things on the field would settle a lot of headaches and arguments. I prefer the 16 team 3-3-2-2-1 and 5 at large bids more. It would preserve some of the bowl season. But this presentation makes total sense based on how this season has progressed.
  7. Why not simply expand to 16 teams? Go with a 3-3-2-2-1 format and 5 at large teams with CCG week used as a play in round between the P4 teams qualified to participate? That basically maintains the most important aspect of college football: making every week matter. Making those Play In Games relevant also matters as there must be some objective measurement used as a measuring tool for those contenders. I believe that would be fairly simple, as contending for your conference title should definitely be one of those measurements. Same with defeating teams you were favored against, and defeating teams you were an underdog to. This year is going to be a mess. I believe Texas losing to Florida ruined what is considered facing a gauntlet schedule (all three of their losses are to teams that are playoff bound, and they defeated a fourth while eliminating Vandy as a fifth). Expanding to 16 definitely makes sense. Using Play In games would expand it further, and create the kind of drama fans of the sport love. Not to mention settle matters on the field.
  8. If 3-loss SEC teams miss this season's PO, as I believe will happen, Sankey could return to supporting Petitti's 4-4-2-2-1-3 model, which could be supported by the ACC and/or the B12, missing out on millions of dollars with a single team in the field. Having surrendered PO voting power to the B1G and the SEC, the ACC and B12 have acknowledged that there is a Power 2. A Power 2 is also borne out by the committee's rankings to date.
  9. Mt. West SDSU, 6-2, 9-3 – lost to Hawaii and New Mexico New Mexico, 6-2, 9-3 – lost to BSU and San Jose St BSU, 6-2, 8-4 – lost to Fresno St and SDSU UNLV, 5-2, 9-2 – lost to New Mexico and BSU (final game will be vs Nevada) Boise State, New Mexico and San Diego State all finished MW play with 6-2 records. UNLV would join the group at 6-2 with a win over Nevada on Saturday. The participants for the 2025 Mountain West Football Championship will be determined by a composite average of computer metrics and announced the morning of Sunday, Nov. 30. UNLV and New Mexico were not invited to the New Pac. If they were talking about being Power 5, maybe they meant the Mt. West's power four plus one? Boise won by 1 point today. A loss would have meant 7-5. 7-5 would have matched 2021 for their worst W-L since 1998. North Texas is 11-1. James Madison is 10-1 headed to Saturday's final.
  10. The Territorial Cup is headed south to Tucson. No. 25 Arizona 23 - ASU 7. AZ finishes 9-3, ASU 8-4. For OBD's SOS, I'm hoping AZ drops out of the top 25, and one of 8-4 Iowa or (knock wood) 8-4 UW are ranked in the committee's penultimate ranking. Neuter the Huskies!
  11. A 24 team playoff... Frankly I hate it. But this is one of those things that will move on with or without Dan support because at the end of the day we are all tied to our teams and we'll at least follow things for our team's sake. Just looking at this year's rankings so far I feel there are a lot of teams in the Big 12 that are not good enough to make the playoff but have received a ton of hype so far. The Big 12 isn't what it used to be and the ACC is pretty weak as well. As for the B1G and SEC any team that gets three losses on their record isn't in the top tier of the conference. But I suppose more games, even games with sacrificial lambs, make money so I'm sure this will happen. College football has leveled out in the transfer portal and NIL era. I mean... Indiana, need I say more? So the playoff expansion is warranted and 12 feels probably about right and 16 is pushing it but has merits based on fairness, everyone plays a first round game. But 24? Just make another tournament like the NIT... A lower bracket tournament for the rest of the spread of teams. Maybe a conference that isn't the B1G or SEC might actually win it. Might be a better and more exciting tournament honestly.
  12. The 5 stars never do well in their first year here. Walker, Ware, Bittle, Evans all major disappointments in their first year. Bol Bol is the only one that actually looked like a top 25 freshman in his first year. Amazingly I think we miss Bamba, he was our best perimeter defender, he's tough, he can play bully ball, he took care of the basketball, Simpkins is a better scorer but a much much worse defender, he can't rebound and doesn't get to the rim well against these better teams. Last year's team had a ton of flaws, but they were experienced, Angel, Bamba, Barthelemy, Cook all multiyear starters, we now have a bunch of guys who either haven't played at this level, haven't been starters, or they've never played D1 basketball.
  13. And we're on the West coast... So I guess that goes to Texas Tech.
  14. All the great coaches they were interviewing....you know, Justin Wilcox and the superb FCS coaches ended up stepping away? Beavis fans are used to it...
  15. They’re running out of dudes, I think Fisch may be in play at multiple places.
  16. Vandy and HC Clark Lea have agreed to extend Lea's contract and keep him in Nashville. Brian Kelly to PSU?
  17. Cute they think there’s a P5
  18. I hate to say it, but someone needs to sell Altman on recruiting more one-and-dones. Getting Arenas next year is big, but we need more than one or two each year. Centers and shooting guards, especially.
  19. On another front, I think I pieced together that Beavis’ new coach has never been responsible for calling plays at the college level. Pretty weird if you think about it.
  20. The Eyes of Texas, Sark, and Sankey are on the PO committee, and Texas wants to see Tennessee hand Vandy, a team the Horns defeated, its third loss. Ditto for LSU defeating Oklahoma to give a 3rd-loss to another team Texas defeated. 3-loss Texas would have a solid case to be ranked higher than Vandy and Oklahoma. Then: "We could have played Wazzu instead of TOSU!" But even if the above happens, Texas is ranked behind a Utah team that won today to finish 10-2, and BYU is odds-on to defeat UCF in Logan and finish 11-1 with the B12 champ game left to play. I don't think the committee would knock an 11-2 BYU out of the field with a champ game loss to Texas Tech. Texas Tech should win at W VA tomorrow to finish 11-1, but ... With the A&M loss, Georgia is now back in Atlanta next Saturday for the SEC champ game and will rematch against Alabama again if the Tide defeats Auburn. If Auburn defeats Bama, UGA will play Ole Miss. Kiffin's camp says he'll make up his mind to stay or go on Saturday. How about Lane bolts and Ole Miss under an interim coach wins the SEC and a spot in the Sugar Bowl? 🤪 OBD defeats UWho and could climb to the 5th seed, but 11-1 A&M has a win over Notre Dame, and a case for the 4th or 5th seed. A 6th seed would be just fine for the Ducks. Stay tuned. More Chaos is likely on the way.
  21. "TAM loses. What will this do to our seeding??" Assuming the Ducks win, then not much. Ole Miss will be jumped by the Committee over Oregon. Thus, 3) Georgia, 4) Ole Miss, 5) Tex Tech. Perhaps the question will be whether A&M can take the 6-spot from Oregon.....SEC, SEC, SEC strength of schedule....but look at my earlier note above about A&M schedule which the Committee will ignore. There's still Saturday's games to be played, plus conference championship games in SEC and Big12 which could mess with the highest seeded. As Al Davis said, "just win baby!"
  22. My hope is that Fisch jumps ship from UW, and we flip Kodi Greene the 5 star OT (or OL, can't remember) back from the Huskies.
  23. Pathetic. Very disappointing. At least the girls are playing ball!
  24. Alabama will beat Georgia again in the SEC title game and we are still alive for 1-2-3 B1G in the final playoff rankings. It’s a beauty contest right now between Oregon and Texas Tech for #3.
  25. Teams at the top of the SEC standings with A&M Georgia Ole Miss Alabama Texas Oklahoma Vanderbilt Tennessee Which of these teams has A&M played this season? Answer: Texas. That's it: Texas. They did win 41-40 at Notre Dame.
