  2. Solar, i agree with you and Sir Charles, would love to see a few 50/50 balls from around mid-field IMHO there may be a few reasons that we aren't seeing this: Pass Protection: As BBMichaels pointed out the pass protection hasn't been there. While our tackles are road graders in the run game, they are not rock walls on pass protection. When you allow sacks against a 4 man rush that means the numbers on the back end arent in your favor. A free roaming safety can break up or intercept the ball. Dante: Dante may not be at the top of his game at reading the defensive schemes and formations, yet! He has the arm strength and accuracy but that type of play needs single coverage with no safety over the top. Can or does Dante recognize this or has DL and WS given him the green light. If you go back and watch the games from 22-24, both Bo and Dillion had the team lined up with 25 or more seconds on play clock. They looked over the D formation and called an audible. If the D changed their formation they had enough time to audible again. Bo and Dillion had game experience to do this. At this point, Dante may not have enough game experience. He will get there. Remember, Bo struggled at Auburn in his learning curve. Conference Opponents: Points have been difficult to come by in conference play. Rutgers being the exception. Plays are at a premium and this offence cannot waste any. OBD's running game is strong. It eats clock and puts points on the board. If DL and WS had been more patient and kept rinning the ball against the Hoosiers, the out come may have been different! When we passed to catch up or forced the pass, well Dante got picked twice in the fourth quarter. OBD's lost a game they could have won. Go Ducks......

  4. Apparently, physicality at the line of scrimmage, also requires some coaching chops to be able to win a physical game.
  5. Don, thanks for that deeper look st the Hawkeyes 2025 squad. I firmly agree that they will give the Ducks all that they can handle...... While there is no comparison in the talent and depth level between the two teams, the Hoosiers gave the Hawkeyes the game plan/blueprint to pressure and confuse Dante. They also have a defensive unit that can carry it out. We shall see if WS can game plan some a suprises for the Hawkeyes........ A fast start by OBD's offense would put Iowa behind the 8 ball, however the Ducks start slow against any defense that has a pulse.Offensively, Iowa should not be able to overpower the Ducks D unit. Reaching 20 points should be a challenge for the Hawkeyes. Can the Ducks score 21points? I think they can and will....... Before the season started, a number of Forum members felt Iowa could be a potential 2nd loss on the schedule. They might or they might not! Either way this game should be another rock fight in the rain similar to the Whisky game. If OBD's play clean the Ducks win 21-16. If not? Go Ducks
  6. As a transplanted Hawkeye, I’m sure I follow Iowa football more closely than anyone else on FishDuck.com or the Our Beloved Ducks forum. Here are a few things you should know about this year’s Hawkeye football that even Mr. FishDuck took a break from his gaming fun at online sports betting to learn. Phil Steele’s 2025 College Football Preview This ... What You Need to Know About the IOWA HAWKEYES
  7. I like the concept. But, the deep ball requires pass protection, which hasn't been great against the better teams. Yes, some of that has been Dante's fault, but a lot of it has not. World's face mask penalty vs Wisconsin comes to mind... Right or wrong, my guess is that we're not throwing deep as often because of that
  8. What you don't realize is that he will soon prove his O line to be really tough and physical and the cream of the college football world...in the 1980s style of play.
  9. I think OCs often Vizzini themselves and end up drinking their own poison when they try to double triple quadruple outsmart the opponents. No, genius, the bubble screen never works and it suddenly won't this time.
  10. It looks like a normal start time for Oregon. oregonliveOregon to face Iowa in middayThe game was one of four held in a six-day window by the Big Ten’s television partners
  11. Jon Joseph, thanks for all of your entertainment! The OBD Forum wouldn't be the same without your contributions. ✍👏
  12. Man, I hate to say it, but hats off to USC! The Trojans are a closet case, but We Need the PO Dues!
  13. Hats off to the Beavs! WAZZU? 3-point road loss to No. 7 Ole Miss. A 2-point road loss to No. 15 UVA. And a 7-10 road loss in Corvallis? There is Insanity, and then there is CFB on and off the field in 2025. 🤪 Have Mercy!
  14. Hats off to Dilly! ASU, behind its backup QB, wins at Iowa State.
  15. The the mighty beaver back yard ( never was a “Nation”), prevails!
  16. A real life “Coug” on national television. Beavis has won their second consecutive “conference championship”. The CBS sponsors got their money’s worth.
  17. Coug’s miss a short field goal to stay behind 10-7 with 1:05 left in game.
  18. The “New World PAC 2” Cougars are still doing their utmost to reach back into their past and “Coug it” for the rodents.
  19. Forum friends. I have watched CFB from stem to stern today. The only team I have seen that I believe might be a step above is the Ohio State, with a Boa Constrictor defense, playing alongside an NFL TE, 3 certain NFL WRs, a super accurate QB, and with an attitude. OK, perhaps ditto Indiana? I have seen nothing today that convinces me the SEC has nine teams worthy of being in the top 25. Then, again, with the proliferation of CFB parity, why rank 25 teams? Instead, how about projecting a 12-team PO field and four P4 and 2 G6 teams on the cusp. I hope everyone in Iowa City is suffering from insomnia, not able to nap during the bye week.
  20. Watch out for Pitt! Bye next week and then the chance to make PO noise - home vs. Notre Dame, at Georgia Tech that lost to NC State today, and Miami on November 29th in Three Rivers Stadium. 👍👌😁 One loss in the ACC and undefeated since a true Frosh QB took over, Pitt is right there for a spot in the ACC champ game and a Tuesday night ranking.
  21. “the elite teams are going to feast on this mess.” AMEN, brother.
  22. I'd say most aren't. But everyone is paying.
  23. Doctor, I love the diagnosis, but why not smash mouth your way into the Red Zone and then, stop running the ball. BRILLIANT!
  24. Not all teams are paying 4+ M!!
  25. This is Mari-oh-oh's 6th loss to a double-digit dog.🤣
  26. Your O-line is dinged, but you've run the ball into the red zone and decide to abandon the run. Why? This Nebraska team was stomped on by the Gophers run game. No comprende. Good luck to all recruits. Bring your skill set with because you are not going to be coached up!
