  2. Brady Bidwell, son of Oregon punter and long-time NFL punter Josh Bidwell has announced he is going to Oregon on social media and it was in the Eugene R-G. He must be a walk-on, as there has not been any official confirmation or postings by AD. He is going to Marist in Eugene, and is a 6'4" wide receiver!
  3. Playing Ole Miss at Ole Miss is a much different fan experience than in a bowl game, or potentially hosting in an expanded Playoff. Perhaps there is a different list for places you would like to visit? For a lot of people, Wisconsin was on that list until the home-and-home with the Badgers was accomplished. Visiting Tuscaloosa is not real high for me.

  5. Only teams I find remotely interesting on that list are: Clemson, Bama and TAMU. Everyone else I'm kinda meh. And even the three I think are the most interesting we'll probably end up playing in the playoff at some point soonish. Certainly no need to prioritize OOC games with any of them because it will probably naturally happen.
  6. Deat RM, This is not rocket science. Graves has _never_ been a good coach at UO. The Ionescu years were exactly that—the sheer force of will of the GOAT—Ionescu. Replace Graves with a driven female coach. Spend a little money to promote the coach and a couple star players with the “Oregon” brand. Let the Duck faithful take it from there… We’d see a real ROI.
  7. My view of this topic is less about opponent and more about venue, history, neighborhood and whether the Ducks have visited in the last 30 years or so. Ole Miss Clemson Florida State Navy As a result, Alabama is not real high on my list. Here is an article that is more in line with my criteria. UPDATED Ranking College Football Stadiums: 108 Down | Road to CFB ROADTOCFB.COM Ranking college football stadiums isn't easy. I've been to 108 of the 131 stadiums (133 in 2023 with the addition of Sam Houston State and Jacksonville State) thus far and this list took me a ton of time...
  8. My concern is not so much the dismal record of the recent teams, and definitely not the quality of players. What gets me is the enormous, outrageous turnover in players (and staff). And some of these are excellent basketball talents. It seems that there is something afoot in the program and no one is spilling the beans about it.
  9. D1Baseball Top 25: Texas A&M ascends to No. 1, four new teams enter • D1Baseball D1BASEBALL.COM Texas A&M takes over the No. 1 spot in the D1Baseball Top 25, and four new teams join the rankings after a tumultuous week. Oregon baseball continues to rise in major polls following 3-2 week 247SPORTS.COM Oregon baseball continues to rise in major polls following 3-2 week
  10. There are a ton of Baseball polls, but the one I keep my eye on the most is D1 Baseball, and they have moved Oregon to No. 16 in the nation. It is vital that Oregon remains in the top-16 in order to be able to host an NCAA Regional again. To host a Super-Regional, you have to be in the top-8, of which the Bastard Beavers are in line for at No. 5 in the nation again this week. Arizona has moved up to No. 21, thus only three Pac-12 teams in the top-25. What about other conferences? SEC: Eight teams in the top 25, including No. 1 thru No. 4 at the moment. ACC: Seven teams in the top 25! How about the B1G? How many from that esteemed league? Gonna be some opportunity to clean up in that league next year! (Remember this when you hear their blustering about their conference)
  11. Brian Michalowski's promotion to linebackers coach provides further staff continuity Brian Michalowski's promotion to linebackers coach provides further staff continuity 247SPORTS.COM Oregon linebackers coach Brian Michalowski
  12. Great comment. Playing in the B1G gives greater wiggle room when it comes to OOC scheduling. Michigan made it to the playoffs back-to-back without a P5/4 team on the OOC schedule. Ohio State plays only G5 teams OOC in 2024 and the schedule is light compared to other B1G contenders. But win the conference and Ohio State will be one of the two top seeds. The B1G schedule will not be overlooked by the PO Committee as was often the case with the Pac-12.
  13. I would hope that his desire and ambition are still there, otherwise he needs to show himself the door. I think he is slow in changing his ways in that he will probably never see another holy trinity as he did with Sabrina, Ruthy and Satou. Plus, the supporting cast that seemed to be truly supporting. Hopefully he can turn it around, otherwise Mullens' tough choice will be the replacement, not replacing.
  14. Looking at the list, outside Oregon and Georgia, the top 10 defenses were in the upper Midwest. Tell me that it isn't a factor to play football in bad weather and adapt your offense to that reality. I see Wisconsin as a test of that theory as they attempt to implement an air raid style offense. Will they face plant in November, or is it just a bad assumption that you can't pass in the cold?
  15. I think the article has merit. It would be fun to see some of those games. But, only if the G5 travel to Autzen and the others, in the playoffs. Playing in the B1G now gives us less wiggle room for scheduling, even with expanded playoff. Oregon should have no problem scheduling home games now and getting whomever they want. Having B1G teams now show up to Autzen yearly will make tickets a high demand item for several years. It's time the AD took Jon J's scheduling advice.
  16. I'm very curious just how good/bad the B1G offenses really are. Our stats could end up a better in 2024 even with no improvement on D. If course I hope we do improve.
  17. Remember the massive risk to taking a portal player? If the player did not work out--you were stuck with him, and burned a scholarship. Now the rules have changed, and they can leave immediately in the next portal opening period! Boy this could alter portal recruiting strategy... Coaches can take a flyer on a player with only the one-year scholarship at risk! A coach could burn through a TON of players this way to find the good ones sooner?
  18. Something I forgot to mention is how the "elite" schools will lose TONS to the portal every year of players who do not see them moving up the depth chart, or have already been passed by underclassmen. As you know, Dan wants to continuously recruit the best he can at each position. When you have four-deep at every position, then whoever is not playing or does have low prospects of playing are leaving. Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia--all will have highly ranked HS players who leave because they got beat out by other highly ranked players. It does not bother me anymore, and it is the natural way. (The opposite of what is happening to the Pig-2 teams) And another area I did not point out is how Danno has had very few misses with the portal; their analysis has been superb. Evan Williams was truly a BIG-HIT for Oregon...
  19. Beware the Portal? College football transfer portal: Penn State, Arizona among teams facing nightmare scenarios in spring window - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM These scenarios could make the spring transfer window one of the most chaotic yet
  20. Referencing our NIL title in the other post, 5 of our 6 players on this list are transfers.
  21. Watched the 10 min YouTube synopsis of the highlights. What is so remarkable is how PP is able to get free on offense, distribute for the open man and lobs for dunks, drive to the hoop, and take the three when it is there. His crossover or behind the back dribble stepback shot is now elite. Defensively, for a small guard he manages to get rebounds by being in the right place at the right time. Granted these last few games have been against somewhat lesser competition as the Celts have their playoff spot sealed up, but PP has been fantastic regardless. He would be the starting PG on a lot of NBA teams and he would be doing this nearly every night. As it is he will be valuable as the 6th man for the Celts in the playoffs.
  22. Charles, I agree with your analysis. Oregon successfully cherry-picks from the Portal to fill positions of need. As Ohio State, Georgia, and other top recruiting programs did in 2023-24. Oregon is not portal-reliant to the extent of an Ole Miss. As I recall, Oregon wiped the floor with portal-oriented CU last season. But the Ducks do appear early in the article. Not so long ago, Oregon may not have been mentioned. It's a balancing act and recruiting of new and already recruited players never stops amidst unregulated tampering.
  23. It’s all semantics really. Personally, when I hear “need based”, it sounds reactionary. I think as it stands now, getting 30-40% of your roster from the portal is the smart way to go. Let others polish those 2 and 3 stars and then steal them to add to your core of 4 and 5 stars. Aside from evolving to get a few more 5 star dudes out of HS, I think we’re on the forefront of how to work it and should have a kingpin title.
  24. Blake Brockmeyer is a CBS draft guru. He was an All-American left tackle at Texas and is in the Texas Hall of Honor. 26 of the ranked players play in the B1G including six players from OREGON: 20. QB Dillon Gabriel 22. WR Evan Stewart 32. CB Jabbar Muhammad 37. DT Jamaree Caldwell 67. WR Tez Johnson 71. OT Josh Conerly, Jr. OT Cornelius, TE Ferguson, LB Bassa, RB James, and DB Johson, among other Ducks, could have been on the list. College Football Top 100 Players of 2024: SEC crowds top 10, Colorado star at No. 1 in spring rankings - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Former All-American and first-round NFL Draft pick Blake Brockermeyer evaluates and ranks the top 100 players entering this season 7 Ohio State players are on the list. 4 players from Michigan.
