  1. Today
  2. In case anyone may think my post above is a bit cruel....note the actual picture below at a Civil War Baseball game a few years back, taken by FishDuck Photographer Kevin Cline.
  3. Even the Beavers know their marketing has sucked, since the primary purpose was show that they were the "Anti-Oregon," option, and that has clearly not worked. What do you do when there is NO excitement about your athletics? Players leaving like a slowly dying, bleeding-out wounded soldier...how can you promote your football program to the country? Perhaps SYMPATHY? (Although stealing 30 million from Oregon has worked pretty well) Yeah! That could work...generating sympathy can't be any worse than what they've done? How about... When the chosen of CFB were Raptured to the Heaven of the Power-4, Oregon State was... I know...I'm brutal.
  4. Sympathy? Outside of the NW, OSU football is unknown. Notre Dame fans did get to watch a Domers Beaver massacre in the Sun Bowl. The game was close before the last note of the National Anthem sounded.
  5. The Mullet will be in Autzen in September 2025, perhaps coming off a B12 title and a playoff appearance. Utah plays at OK ST the week before it plays Arizona in SLC and OK ST misses Arizona. Stillwater is a tough place for a visiting team to win. OK ST brings back its 8th year or something like it, starting QB, All-American RB Ollie Gordon, and 5 starters on the OL. IMO, the B12 will go cannibal in conference games in 2024. The B12 champ will be in the playoff and a B12 champ, even with 3 losses, is odds on to have a 1st-round bye. Unfortunately, Dilly is leaking good players into the portal. Unfortunately, Dilly has to report to big-time Larry enabler Michael Crow ultimately. The guy who was going to 'revolutionize' college ball, "CEO" Herm Andrews was spanked by the NCAA with a five-year Show Cause penalty for Herm. Back at ESPN, I doubt that Herm cares. Antonio Pierce was slapped as much as the NCAA can slap an NFL head coach.
  6. The “time” has already passed. You’re going to the MWC no matter how much denial you are in.
  7. It’s simple: play your heart out then completely tune out the rest of the game and the rest of your teammates. I have played on teams with players like Williams. They try when their stats are on the line but don’t care about anything else. His sideline demeanor is totally disinterested.
  8. In the last paragraph of the "Kenny at ASU" section, I think you meant parity instead of parody. If not, I apologize.
  9. Oram's article about the OSU Spring Game brought him hate, and this one will bring even more. Be like Oregon? They can't, as they hate us and insist on poor marketing and promotion...which got them to this place. The difference in the Spring Games exemplifies the savvy, or lack of it by the athletic administration of each school. It illustrates why both schools are in the spot they are...and yet Oregon is supposed to help OSU further according to John Canzano? Over 30 million taken from Oregon over the next ten years, and bailing out their media contract with a Civil War in Corvallis? I could feel sorry for them if they weren't stealing from us, and they would hate us no matter what we did for them. The thought of even a fraction of a cent of my State of Oregon tax dollar going to support them makes me ill. What should we do?
  10. Of all the columns I’ve written, few have inspired a bigger response, and none more vitriol, than my suggestion over the weekend that Oregon State missed an opportunity by taking such a casual approach to its spring football showcase. It mobilized Beavers fans and caused heartburn at the top of the wounded university’s power structure. Bill Oram: Sorry, Beavers, it’s time for Oregon State to be more like Oregon WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM The spring game was just a starting point. OSU needs to capitalize on the sympathy of the nation and ask itself, "What would Oregon do?"
  11. Completely agree. And you can now put Mariota in that category since he recently admitted he lost his confidence as Joey did. (Because they both got the heck beaten out of them)
  12. Oregon a potential destination for Georgia transfer DT Christen Miller Oregon is a potential candidate for Georgia transfer Christen Miller DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM A new DL transfer prospect for the Ducks? It could make sense.
  13. Yesterday
  14. Of all the top tier QBs in this draft, I think Bo is the biggest wildcard. I can see him being a starter for a lot of years, and I can also see him being a fringe player that never does much. Both are at play. It really depends on where he lands. I am still of the opinion that Joey could have had an HOA career but he ended up at the clown show that was Detroit.
  15. I am not sure how you quit on the sidelines and then perform on the field. Nobody has a switch like that. Maybe what you saw as quit was a guy in his head figuring out what to do next. Frustration and quit are not the same thing. Guy is putting up 45 points and loosing. As was previously mentioned the guys he actually played with said he was a good teammate
  16. The answer given by the president to John, in reference to helping helping Oregon State made me want to hurl. Of course, you must make their problem, our problem! As if 30 million and rescheduling isn’t enough? So weak, so....
  17. This is where we disagree. He performed on the field, but I saw a lot of “quit” on the sidelines. In fact, I can’t remember seeing anything other than quit with Williams on the sidelines.
  18. Speculations are $100M+ soon in a new contract with the Lions. It pays to perform.
  19. Agreed about McCarthy, but also think Drake Mayes is going to be a big hit in a few years.
  20. Personally I think the QB that has the best chance to be a bust is McCarthy, I really don't understand the hype around him, doesn't have an arm as good as others, played behind an O-line that was dominant, wasn't asked to do much other than not screw up, decent mobility, but not incredible. I would have him behind Williams, Daniels, Maye, Penix, and Nix. I do think you draft Williams because he has the biggest chance to be the next Maholmes, incredible ability to make plays out of nothing, can also read the field and go through progressions, showed that he could carry a team on his back.
  21. IKR? Wouldn't that be an awesome cross-town rivalry starting two Duck QBs a few seasons from now??
  22. "A wrong was done, and is now corrected" I don't agree. Reggie Bush and family did receive benefits that at the time were against ncaa rules. Those penalties, including losing the Heisman, were earned. That wasn't a wrong. However, with changing times, the rules have changed. Reinstating Bush seems a logical step. But it's not correcting a wrong. Let's not rewrite history.
  23. Great diversity of opinions here, and I love it. I completely disagree with most of you, but I enjoy seeing other perspectives and learning from others. And we disagree without getting personal; it is rare on the web! Savor our community....
  24. Most top shelf portal transfers know where they will go when they enter. Meaning they absolutely have been tampered with. I've got a good feeling about this. As others have said we are an anchor NT away from a title level defense, and we have the ability to pull him in accordingly by offering him the highest value. If he goes to tOSU I'll be really upset though! LoL
  25. Caleb has the ability to be great and he cares enough to be able to achieve it. He should go #1.
  26. A change of circumstances with an enlarged playoff, and pay for play will help level the playing field. As an example, 2023 was not an exception, it is the new reality with the Transfer portal and NIL circumstances affecting team ceilings.
