  1. Past hour
  2. He just started to begin to hit his stride as a sophomore last season. He doubled his solo tackles and was an important part of the Aggie defense. More talent, depth, and competition at the safety position, simple answer.
  3. Today
  4. The inning, the pain, would not end. A terrible, terrible night for Oregon pitchers, as Stanford leads 19-6 after eight innings. Wowsa. Where are my IPAs?
  5. End of seventh inning, down 10-5 with Featherston in relief,
  6. If I remember a game not to long ago, I believe it was Gordon, who hit four batters and they still left them in.
  7. Why do they do this? I feel like the Coaches tend to leave struggling pitcher in longer than seems pertinent. The bullpen is deeper this year than in years past with some pretty good mid relievers.
  8. Good Gosh, they left Gordon in! 9-5 Cardinal after five innings.
  9. ‘Furd now leads 7-5 after four innings. RJ Gordon had a rough inning…a disaster,
  10. Ducks up 4-1 after three innings! Excellent plate discipline, as a number of Oregon batters starting 0-2, made great decisions to walk or get a hit. ‘Furd pitcher has a VERY high pitch count.
  11. After two innings, Oregon leads 2-1. We have had some excellent fielding which prevented more scoring as we caught a base runner between first and second, and a fantastic throw from left field by Chase Meggers to get the runner trying to stretch to second!
  12. Yesterday
  13. I found out that tonight is Stanford's annual "Fireworks Night," and I hope that ends up being the Oregon bats! The Ducks send out RJ Gordon (5-2) 3.58 ERA vs. the 'Furd's Matt Scott, (2-6) 3.93 ERA. I checked the stats on both teams for batting, and here is what I found: Stanford has four batters over .300 with one knocking on the door. Oregon has seven batters over .300 with one knocking on the door. (I need to add that not all of the seven play at the same time) Let's Go Ducks! Double Play!
  14. Mr. Fishduck, you're a better man than I. I have unsuscribed from Canzano. Can't take the nonsense. But I appreciate you passing on the few decent tidbits. I think what sets coach Lanning apart is that he genuinely cares about people, even journalists, so called( though I think he just tolerates Crepea). He certainly knows how to set a table.. ..now we just got to run the course.
  15. Mullens should awake every morning and thank his lucky stars that Miami way overpaid to get Mario to leave town and that Justin Wilcox said, "No." Canzano tells it like his wallet so requires. It's double speak when it comes to the Pac-2 and he knows it. It is fun to poke the Beavers in the Canzano comment section.
  16. The NLRB will not stop until college athletes are deemed to be employees. I found it stunning that at the NLRB District level, the NLRB determined that Dartmouth basketball players who do not have athletic scholarships are employees of Dartmouth College. If this decision is sustained on appeal every D3 athlete could be found to be an employee. At what point would a college in the Ivy League or D3 say to heck with it, we offer no varsity sports? Students who want to play a sport can form clubs but there will be no financial assistance whatsoever from the college. Pay the Money Ball football and men's basketball players or revenue share with these players and the Title IX suits will be hot and heavy. The fact that non-revenue sports are just that will not matter in today's world. The NCAA is under attack by federal, and state legislative and regulatory bodies, and is the defendant in four antitrust suits that the NCAA tried to dismiss and in all cases was denied. The Fed X deal is just the start of public companies and Private Equity becoming involved with college sports. I do not think that we will have to wait for any P4 media deal to expire before we experience more change in college athletics. The B1G's media deal expires at the end of the 2029-30 athletic calendar; the first Power 4 deal to reach the end of the current contract(s.) In the meantime, I'm going to sit back and enjoy what we have today. No reason to be frustrated over things that I cannot control which is 99.99% of "things."
  17. Early impressions of freshman OT JacQawn 'Shaq' McRoy have been very positive this spring Oregon O-Line coach A'lique Terry has been very impressed by the way both of the team's true freshmen linemen have played this spring. He believes the Ducks have something "special" with JacQawn McRoy and Trent Ferguson. 18. I built a 550 sq. ft. cottage for AirBnB purposes in 2011 out of an old tool/wood shed that connected to my double garage. But I live in Eugene. I suppose that some Ohio State fans might take a whole week off and stay for a few days in Portland or the coast, but those are not the type of people that are going to use just a bedroom. At any rate, it's super easy to sign up for AirBnB or VRBO. I don't even think you are allowed to actually give people the breakfast part of a bed and breakfast. In almost every case the goal of guests is to never see the host! It's 2024, nobody wants that. They want a door with a keycode, and they want to come and go when they want. Anyway, if you're going to take the time to do a quick rental, then I'd suggest just renting out your whole house for 5 days or a week and then stay with friends or in-laws while the people are there. You could charge about $600-800 (or more depending on where you live and what your house is like) a night for that. Otherwise it's not worth it. Just getting money for one bedroom for a one-off thing isn't worth it. You'll have to buy them their own shampoos and soaps, and then you'll have to offer them new sheets, most likely. Etc, etc.
  19. No. 1: The second suit vs a university for unfair labor practices. Notre Dame Athletes Cast as Employees in New NLRB Complaint SPORTS.YAHOO.COM The University of Notre Dame Thursday was charged with violating section 8 of the National Labor Relations Act by allegedly misclassifying its athletes as “student-athletes” when they are... No 2: Corporations now aligning with colleges for NIL pledges. FedEx pledges $25 million over 5 years in NIL program for University of Memphis athletes APNEWS.COM FedEx has pledged $25 million over the next five years to be used in sponsorship deals with University of Memphis athletes. It will be interesting if any shareholder suits will follow, especially from alum of rival schools. Or, will the rivals flock to use UPS from now on?
  20. Mario was never able to talk about anything other than football for fear he would not be the smartest man in the room. Dan does not have that fear hence his conversations with John are more free flowing and Dan gives you a glimpse into his life away from football. Dan is approachable. Mario was not (in any way) and I say that from having interacted with both (not extensively in any manner but a bit personally) and had the opportunity to observe both of them in social settings and suffice it to say it was night and day difference.
  21. Great point, as it is a great way to get the message out about how he operates, his values--through these interviews. While John has been critical of Dan as we have at times, (Take the damn points, or he hasn't won the big one yet) he is generally favorable in his writings about Lanning and the Ducks. I think part of that is the affability that Dan has, and while we cannot help but like Dan...the same is true of John's feelings about Lanning. Consider how different that is compared to the confrontational times between Chip and John, or even Cristobal and John. Neither figured out what Lanning has, and this goes to show again that Dan is wise beyond his years.
