  2. Wish some random staff member would make an article discussing Oregon's future schedule options, directly giving Rob Mullens ideas for home and home series' like Bama and LSU. as well as the most important topic, discuss if we should keep playing Oregon State.

  4. The discussion in that article about the ADs strained relations with a couple of coaches, and may be why the WSU BBall coach went to the ’Furd? I love the thought of somebody like that running Husky athletics! Drive the good coaches away from there, too!
  5. Bizarre looking kickoffs, but it could create some explosion plays, and it will be fun to watch the progress on this NFL change.
  6. Looking forward to some new uniforms. I feel the post Helfrich era uniforms have been lacking some pop. They have been pretty plain but I'm also a fan of the 2010-2015 eras of uniforms.
  7. When Oregon announced it was headed to the B1G, there was a lot of negative energy in the state, much emanating from Salem. That years Civil War game, in Autzen, was SRO. (Possibly because many thought it might be the last). It is possible that Oregon felt the need to show goodwill to their "lil' brother", and the good folks in Salem, and so jumped through hoops to help OSU as well as WSU ( they got TTU as a home game). Also, fans seemed to want it. But there is no reason to continue on a yearly basis. Maybe every 3rd or 4th year, and most always in Autzen. (While other power house schools don't travel to G5 schools, they also don't have a century+ history of previous rivalry.) Oregon citizens of the entire state deserve to have some type of continuation of the game. Most of us want it, just not yearly. Also, the disparity between the 2 schools with regards to quality players will only increase. I have to believe it will become much tougher each year for the Beavs to win. They won't want a yearly beat down anymore than we do. Well, actually, I could maybe handle 13 in a row...1 more than the dawgs!
  8. Great point on Bonny. Who knew that there were this many Benedict Arnold offspring in Pullman?
  9. Thank you, JD for pointing this error out. It should have been 4 and not 5 losses in the last 5 seasons excluding the COVID season of the witch. 2018 - 9-5; 2019 -11-3; (COVID 3-2); 2021 - 10-4; 2022 - 10-4; 2023 8-5. The 2023/24 loss to Northwestern in the Las Vegas Bowl, 7-14, was a particularly bad loss considering the QB that took down USC started the game for the Utes.
  10. Be surprised if he stays in college. Him not being a lottery pick probably works to his advantage as far as playing with Dad goes. I hear the WSU frosh of the year entered the portal though.
  11. College Football News's (CFN) Pete Fiutak is one of the better CFB prognosticators. B1G - PO Contenders - Ohio State 12-0, Oregon 11-1, Penn State 10-2, Ls to SC and Ohio State, USC 10-2 Ls vs. LSU, and at Michigan could, depending on the tie-breaker(s) have USC 8-1 with a projected Ducks 11-1 record with the loss coming against Ohio State, playing the Buckeyes in the B1G title game. SC in 2024 misses both Ohio State and Oregon. This would not be all that bad of an outcome for the Ducks. At 11-1, Oregon would be a playoff lock and with the B1G champ game in Indianapolis, have one fewer trip to the Eastern time zone. In 2024 there will be a two-week delay before the 1st playoff games are played and not 30 days +. CFN projects that 14 B1G teams will be bowl-eligible. CFN is far less sanguine when it comes to SEC playoff possibilities than are the majority of the 'experts.' CFN has UGA 12-0 in, and LSU and Texas at 10-2 in the playoff mix. Bama, OK, Ole Miss, and Tennessee are projected to finish 9-3, with Mizzou going 8-4. I'd like to see this happen. ACC teams in the playoff mix - 10-2 Clemson and 10-2 FSU with Clemson losing to Georgia and on the road against LSU. FSU's losses come on the road vs Miami (9-3) and Notre Dame. If this plays out FSU would have the tie-breaker edge and as a top 4 seed would have a 1st-round playoff bye. B12 - Utah at 10-2 is the only B12 team projected to have 10 wins. K State and Oklahoma State are both projected to finish 9-3. If the CFN projections play out a 9-3 team could be in the playoff field.
  12. Utah has lost at least 8 games 4 of last 5 seasons??.
  13. As I recall, Bronny's "final 3" were USC, Ohio State and Oregon. He would be well advised to take at least one more year in college. Wonder what he'll do? USC: new coach undetermined OSU: Jake Diebler, a 2024 promoted assistant after Chris Holtmann fired
  14. Here's a take on W and Ls for all B1G teams in 2024. https://collegefootballnews.com/schedules/college-football-schedules-predictions-for-every-game-spring-2024#big-ten-football-schedules-pre
  15. Oregon Ducks' 2024 schedule with game-by-game score predictions Oregon Football: Ducks 2024 game-by-game score predictions DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM A game-by-game breakdown of the Oregon Ducks 2024 schedule, with score predictions for every matchup.
  16. Duck fans react to Oregon's tease of 'Generation O' uniforms for 2024 season Social Media reacts to Oregon Ducks’ tease of new uniforms for 2024 DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM New uniforms are coming for the Oregon Ducks, which left the fanbase in a frenzy on Thursday.
  17. This is what stood out to me as it pertains to gifting a home game this upcoming year. Not sure why we didn't seem to grasp they consider us adversaries, IMO you don’t give a current legal adversary a gift in the middle of proceedings. Maybe they would have settled differently if you hadn’t already agreed to playing a G5 on the road without even guaranteeing a return game.
  18. Georgia, Ohio State, Utah lead 16 college football teams in best position to make expanded CFP in 2024 season - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM With the Sweet 16 on the mind, these teams are in the best spot to take advantage of the new 12-team field Oregon and Ohio State are both projected to make the 16-team field with Ohio State claiming a 1st round bye as the B1G champ. Michigan and Penn State are also projected to make the Sweet 16. Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss, Bama, Mizzou, and Oklahoma all in the field? Six SEC teams in the field. This could happen but Oklahoma should be replaced by LSU. The Sooners lost its entire starting OL; 5 newbies will be starting in front of a 1st year-starting QB Jackson Arnold. In the bowl game, Arnold put up 361 pass yards against Arizona and he also threw 3 picks. Oklahoma's schedule is ranked the 2nd most difficult behind Florida, in the SEC. Mizzou plays 2 games vs the top 25 preseason teams. Bama in Tuscaloosa and Oklahoma in CoMo. If Mizzou goes 10-2, loses these 2 games, and makes the playoff field something is wrong. Georgia plays Texas, Alabama, and Ole Miss. Bama plays Georgia at home but is on the road against Oklahoma and LSU. And with Saint Nick's departure, the game at Wisconsin could be interesting. Ole Miss misses Bama but plays Georgia in Oxford, and plays lightweight opponents OOC. Like Bama, Ole Miss plays at LSU. I see 4 SEC teams in the field and maybe five but six? This happens and B1G commissioner Tony Petitti best make a ruckus about the SEC playing eight conference games in 2024 and 2025. The B12 with 3 teams in the field? How about, "NO!" Utah? Utah has lost at least eight games in four of the last five seasons. Arizona? Without Fisch and some of the guys he took with him? OK State was blown out in 2023 by both UCF and Texas. I think the ACC has a better shot of placing two teams in the field, Clemson and FSU than the B12 getting more than one team in the field. Liberty? Back-to-back seasons without a P4 opponent, the toughest game is versus No. 77-ranked App State. The Flames will make it in if the committee cares nothing about SOS. Unfortunately, until proven otherwise, the committee cares only about wins and losses and not about the teams you played. Get your popcorn ready.
  19. Unlimited free agency. Media revenue seemingly spiraling out of control brought attention to the absurd nature of the NCAA rules on compensating athletes. It helped inflate everyone’s salaries involved with collegiate athletics except the athlete. A head coaching salary escalates to $5 to $8 million per year, while athletes maybe get a better meal plan. The NCAA would constantly wave its rule book in everyone’s face to make sure it stayed that way. The NCAA’s track record of defending legal challenges tells us all we need to know about its rules…completely out of touch with reality. The good news is that only 22 players can be on the field during any given play. While how much they are compensated spirals out of control…the irony of it all.
  20. As noted by HDuck in the Pac-12 CBB coaching turnover. I believe after a season of not coming close to expectations with Bonny James on the team, Enfield was invited to leave. Why go to a middling ACC program instead of the Big Ten? Report: Andy Enfield expected to leave USC for this ACC school WWW.YARDBARKER.COM The Andy Enfield era is over in USC. The 54-year-old head coach is reportedly leaving the school after having spent over a decade in charge of its men’s basketball program. The uncertainty of the ACC holding together may be the reason Louisville hired its 3rd choice as its CBB head coach, Pat Kelsey from the College of Charleston.
  21. Thank you, but that was the official news article from GoDucks.com that I receive as credentialed media. I have to give attribution credit!
  22. And the beat goes on? WSU's Kirk Schulz fires up expletive when asked reaction to Pat Chun's UW defection Cougar president calls disappointment in his former athletic director 'profound' WSU's Kirk Schulz fires up expletive when asked reaction to Pat Chun's UW defection 247SPORTS.COM Cougar president calls disappointment in his former athletic director 'profound'
  23. I love the fact that I do not have to be concerned with missing a broadcast of Oregon Ducks Baseball. Sir Charles Fischer, being the avid baseball fan that he is, makes it feel like actually "being there" when reading his synopsis of the games. Actually gets a casual baseball fan...excited. Good Job, Charles aannndddd. GO DUCKS BASEBALL. 's!
  24. The current hot topic in the world of sports is the recent rule changes that were passed in the National Football League earlier this week at the NFL owner’s meetings. It came out earlier this week that the NFL is making two major rule changes starting in 2024: the league is banning the “hip-drop” tackle where a player uses his weight to bring the ball carrier down to the ground by his waste; the NFL is also overhauling the kickoff format, adopting an XFL variation that will completely change the look of things going forward. Kickers will continue to kick from the 35-yard line, but the other 10 players must line up at the opponent’s 40-yard line. At least nine members of the return team will line up in the “setup zone” between their own 30- and 35-yard lines, and up to two returners will line up in the “landing zone” between the goal line and 20-yard line. Here’s a diagram to help you visualize the NFL’s new kickoff play: College Football: Are NFL rule changes going to trickle down to NCAA? DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM How long will it be until college football falls in line with the NFL in terms of kickoff formats and hip-drop tackles?
