  1. A native Oregonian I too, grew up rooting for both schools, back when they both sucked big time on the gridiron. I have family who attended both, and I actually had a warm spot in my heart for Beavus, right up until they shamelessly took the money they didn’t earn.
  2. Lots of good ideas bounce around here. While the Civil War meant something in the past, that is no longer the case. The Ducks will continue to fly while the Beavs sink slowly into the mud around their den. There is no bragging right that beavus is qualified to earn, unless it is with PSU. If they want to play in Eugene, fine, otherwise strike them from the schedules moving forward. They don’t deserve to play the Ducks.
  3. "It sucks that we won’t see Fox,CBS, & NBC air a playoff or take turns airing the National Championship," I could not agree more. ESPN sucks. They are greedy bloodsuckers who do not care about the sport or the fans, all they worship is $$$. To the detriment of the game.
  4. I could also do without the wave. It is tired and weak. Maybe half don’t participate. i do like SHOUT in the break between 3rd and 4th quarters, but “comin back to the place that I was born” between the first and second quarters gets me every time! I love the song and hearing fans join in gives me goose pimples (Duck bumps)! Go Ducks and Go Autzen!
  5. Well that burst my bubble! I bet he thought it though! We have known it to be true for years!
  6. Just when we think “stick a fork in ‘em, they ‘re done!” They hemorrhage some more! Our coach stayed, and we are going to the CFP! Your coach left to be the 4th choice of a former powerhouse, and the best team you ever is deserting in droves, like rats from a sinking ship! and who is to blame? ”Washington has without a doubt the most whiny ungrateful hyena moaning fans I have ever experienced, its bar none”. Quote attributed to Kalen DeBoer when asked why he left Washington for Alabama
  7. Whiney ungrateful hyena moaning fans! Bar none! Wow! And from their greatest coach ever! That is gonna be a retort that will never grow old!
  8. @DrJacksPlaidPants Today just keeps getting better and better! What a time to be a fan of OBD!
  9. It will be interesting to see how long Alabama can keep getting top 10 recruiting classes, let alone top 5. Are any of the Bama coaching staff going to stay on and help? If not, the tide will not roll, it will fade.
  10. Seems to me that going to Bama to follow.Nic Saban is a recipe for disaster. That is a painfully high bar to meet and the expectation to win it all year in and year out would just be a pressure cooker. So, much like Pollyanna, I fouling to trust the DL is a man of his word, and will stay to build OBD into the next college football powerhouse! Unless Bama triples his salary, I think DL stays.
  11. Is there any doubt at all as to the outcome of a late season game pitting FSU against U of O? Bo & Co could have payed them in Tallahassee and won by more than 17 points! But yeah they tied us for #6.
  12. I too, have been and continue to be impressed with Dan Lanning. I agree with most of the posters, and trust that he is doing right by OBD to the best of his abilities. That said, it just sets me off when I read the Gameday thread for the first quarter of the Fiesta Bowl and saw how many of us (well more than a few) were ragging on DL and/or OBD for not starting strong, not calling the right plays, etc. I saw the same stuff during the PAC 12 Championship game. If we are indeed going to trust in the man, maybe let’s try to be a little slower with the negative comments when things are not going as we thought they should be. Don’t get me wrong, I love all who make up OBD Forum, it is just that sometimes the need to post something snippy gets the better of us, myself included. After some slight chastisement by sir Charles, I try to think twice before posting, and I really don’t want to rain (or read) negativity on OBD.
  13. At least we won’t spend the next 30 years hearing about their Natty! They get to slink home with their tails between their legs. Somehow that makes it all ok!
  14. Charles, you just captured all outer feelings in to on dance meme!
  15. It just keeps getting better and better for OBD! Go Ducks!
  16. Good article Ryan, you bring up some very good and valid points. In 2024, experience will be a strength fo OBD! Although, thinking about the relative age of the “old” Ducks you referenced made this graybeard feel positively ancient!
  17. Doesn’t the baseball, softball and Track & Field teams finish this year playing PAC 12 teams?
  18. Wonky Washington Whiners seems more fitting.
  19. Great ponder point and well written article Alex, thank you! Talk about a loaded question. However, like many of my fellow Duck Buddies on here, I think it is a question with no correct answer. There are just too many variables. Bo got to play under a perfect storm! When is the last time OBD had such a loaded receiver room? What would the record books look like had he played for Rich Brooks or Mike Bellotti? Would Bo have put up the numbers he put up with WT’s O line? What would his numbers have looked like if Mari-no-O was the coach? How about if he had LMJ, Bobby Moore, DAT, or a Rolls Royce in the backfield? Again, just too many variables. Dont get me wrong, I think Bo is, well, Bo-Dacious! He gave us a boatload of great memories and outstanding football. A student of the game, he may have understood his offense schematically like no one else. I look forward to watching him play on Sundays and hope he gets a team that can let him shine. At the end of the day, I think he is destined to be a coach when he is done playing.
  20. Thank you for sharing that @Pennsylvania Duck! Very cool update. Troy had a great year indeed! I think Tex may surpass him if he sticks around. It was great seeing some of those names from yesteryear, and the memories they brought up. Nice to see a lot of Josh Huff and Jeff Maehl in those lists, two of my all time favorites!
  21. All those hoping Kalen DeBoer moves to the NFL over the off season, signify by saying ‘Aye’. Aye.
