  1. The Blazers started out hot, then cooled down. But they have been the most enjoyable Blazers team in years. I actually watch entire games! Lillard has been out which doesn't help. But, aside from Milwaukee, there really isn't a dominant team. I believe that if Lillard can come back, and stay back, these Blazers could be a playoff team.
  2. Interesting question. When LSU won the Natty, he was a great QB, but I don't know how much Coach O had to do with it. Kirby Smartt and Stetson are a great combo at Georgia., but QB's aren't a huge part of Smartt's resume'. Chip had great success with very different QB's, Thomas, Mariota. It's easier to see where a coach might not be getting it right with a QB, maybe that guy who coached at Oregon before Lanning?
  3. Now, just saying he's the best RB they have faced isn't giving Charbonnet enough credit. As Anthony Newman would say, 'the guy is a dude!'
  4. Harvey Winn, a Duck legend for sure. Another back up QB, who did a great job in LA, Tony Graziani leads the Ducks to a win over the Trojans, 22-7, Oct.1, 1994., the first win for the Ducks over the Trojans in the Coliseum since the Harvey Winn win.
  5. Great article. At first glance it wouldn't seem like there would be a lot of great memories involving UCLA football, but one of my all time favorite Oregon wins was one I didn't see, only hears, and it was before Jerry Allen, Ducks down by 3 touchdowns in the 4th quarter come back to win, 41-40. More recently,1995, Oregon leads UCLA, 38-31, time is running out,
  6. After watching the Mariners go 18 innings without scoring a run in the first playoff game at home in 21 years on Saturday, the Chargers and Broncos were doing good imitations of futility on offense, and watching the kicker wince every time he kicked was painful. But the win for the Chargers puts them in a tie for 1st in the AFC West with the Chiefs. Next for the Chargers is a home game against Seattle, while the Chiefs go to San Francisco to take on the 49ers, who will be coming off a loss to Marcus and the Falcons. Russell Wilson left Seattle so he could lead a more versatile and explosive offense than Carroll was running. So far, Denver has allowed 16.5 points per game, they are scoring 15.1 points per game.
  7. Does the age-old maxim, 'force them to pass' apply to this UCLA team? DTR to Bobo, the TE and the other receivers is scary. Taking Charbonnet out of the game would be good, but would that make the defense even more vulnerable to the pass?
  8. I applaud you for Coloado-Cal, head-to-head does mean something and is useful in tiebreakers, but just because a team beats another team once doesn't mean they are better overall. Oregon State is definitely primed for a good season, the only L i put on the rest of their schedule is against Oregon.
  9. Not poking at you here, but over the tears I've found that using comparison as a big part of evaluating is faulty. and finding that one team was able to score on USC's D, but another team couldn't score on Georgia's, doesn't clarify anything.
  10. I haven't tracked UCLA , but the Ducks have come from behind this season, and once they've taken the lead, they've built on it. Playing at Autzen it would definitely help if the Ducks got the lead early. Hopefully, the Ducks will start on defense, get a stop and then put a touchdown on the board. A pick 6 would also be acceotable.
  11. I feel l This didn't take long. I agree completely that the obvious, getting 7 instead of 3, is huge. The explosive plats are great, what the Ducks have lived off this season. But getting the grind it out TD's, and stopping UCLA, gets the W.
  12. If LaMichael James could get away from his restaurants, he'd be good.
  13. Right now I'm more concerned with stopping Charbonnet on the ground and Bobo and others in the air, then I am of not scoring on them. I don't think you can be overly confident in a shootout. The weakest area of the game could be the Ducks' secondary, so pressure is mandatory, and that hasn't beem a Oregon strength either. So, yes, Oregon's D will have to have its best game by far to win this one.
  14. That would be the USC Trojans, who Colin has been very positive about since hiring Riley.
  15. Unlike the Ducks, who had the game against WSU all the way.
  16. Agree, I would have Tennessee No.1, and I'm glad that Colin Cowherd's Kids are out of the Top 10.
  17. I'm not sure about that, LMJ, Kenjon Barner, Dat, Maehl, Buckner, Armstead, Troy Hill, Pleasant, Alonzo, Ifo,Ekpre Olumo, Freeman, Thomas...
  18. I think there is a very clear difference. With Chip, Oregon came from nowhere nationally to perennial playoff contenders, 47-6. Football had never seen what Oregon was doing. Of course, it eventually would become what football was, in college and the NFL. The Ducks didn't win the Natty, and even though Oregon was one of the dominant running teams throughout the Chip era, all we would hear was the F word, finesse. Oregon under Lanning isn't finesse. We're not at the talent, depth level to win the Natty yet, but I'm confident that Lanning will get us there.
  19. Yes, it did, for the Natty in 2013, Alabama 42-14. But that's not it: 2001 Fiesta Bowl L 41-9 Oregon State 2004 Insight Bowl L 38-21 Oregon State 2006Fiesta Bowl L34-20 Ohio State 2007Fiesta Bowl L 41-14 LSU 2018 Semi-Final L Clemson 30-3 But they did beat Rutgers, 29-16 in the 2013 Pinstripe Bowl.
  20. Yes, charting Bo's season we have to say, 'skip game 1'. For the past 5 games, his only misstep, really, has been tripping to cause the only sack this season. He and KD have meshed better than we could have hoped. The passing game all over the field, Oregon is putting up running stats like it used to, and he's choosing the right times to run it himself. The best thing is that all of this should just keep getting better.
  21. Actually, USC in the Playoffs could be great to watch. It might not be 49-3, but if Alabama, or Tennessee, or Georgia or theeohiostate see SC in the first round, maybe it would be 49-3
  22. I really hope this happens; Bama hasn't been BAMing teams this season, I take the Beavs -3.5 over the Cougs, and can AZ somehow be Dirty Harry and 'Make our Day' by beating Washington?
  23. Oregon will get the 3 points for home field, so I'm saying the opening line will be Oregon -5.5.
  24. Practically speaking a win for USC is better, keeps them undefeated, it would be their first win over a quality, though sliding team, in Utah. But it's impossible for me to actually want USC to win. They were tolerable under Helton. But, give them a glimmer of light and once again they're unbearable. So, Ill be cheering for the Utes, and if SC wins, at least it won't be all bad.
  25. I can't argue with your points about the Alabama QB's. But I contend that after the Georgia game, where Bo gunslinged the Ducks into trouble, he underwent a heart transplant and is understanding and enjoying playing the way he has the last 5 games. He hasn't holstered his game. He's still running and getting very positive results. The biggest change is his passing, not forcing a big play but following the program, which has led to the great offense we've seen the last 5 games. Against UCLA I think Bo has to keep doing exactly what he's doing, managing the offense to over 47 points per game.
