The other method, is the one I have been pounding the table for, recruit speed! Thankfully Lanning seems to have listened, :-)!
That's what I remember coaches saying way back when. They'd say they could coach this, that, and the other, but not speed, so they recruited for speed.

You are welcome to Google-search it and let us know, as obviously there must be skills that they can learn.
Couldn't find much, but there's this, thought it seems aimed at the athlete and not a coach:
Here are 5 useful methods to improve running speed, whatever your level:- Interval training. Interval training is a popular method used by runners to improve speed. ...
- Add sprints into your long runs. ...
- Choose lightweight running shoes and gear. ...
- Skipping rope workouts. ...
- Build your strength.
One reason I asked, was because at one time, long ago, I read that speed couldn't really be coached. Don't remember who said that, though.

Just curious--how does one coach speed?

If say it's their mascot but Michigan doesn't have a mascot because they feel a mascot is beneath them.
Or maybe in truth they know it would not work to have a real wolverine in the stadium, and a person in a wolverine costume just might look ridiculous.

Graves was a winner at Gonzaga for years. Was the move to Oregon too much for him alone?

While I understand that position coaches move around, it's particularly annoying when one takes the same position to a team in the same conference.

I’m probably not the best person to explain this, but as I understand it at the most basic level, the language used when announcing all departures forfeited the voting rights of everyone leaving the conference, “immediately” putting the PIG2 in control of all conference decisions.
A technicality for a bylaw that IMO was designed for a single school leaving, not 10.
Ah, thank you!

Could someone please explain? I mean, all the teams are still in the PAC-12 until the last PAC-12 game in any sport is played, right?
So, why can wsu and osu do what they are doing? (And keep it simple for me, please. )

Maybe Lanning will look at someone such as Patrick Cobbs, of N. Texas?

Well, Lanning probably has a list of potential coaches for every position, so fingers crossed the new guy will make us all (fans, players) happy.

I had just been wondering about Nate. Sorry he's had to battle such illness, but glad to hear he is recovering and will be coming back next year.

And ded you see his caddy's yardage pad, with The Duck-through-the-"O" on it?

Saw that! How crushing!

So, Oregon plays South Carolina in Pittsburgh in the Midwest Regionals, but neither team nor the city is in the Midwest?

Loved how Altman looked so happy for his players and pretty much let them take the spotlight after the game.

What was the bench technical called on Oregon for protesting the late game blocking foul REALLY about?
If it wasn't something truly egregious, was it just the PAC12 R.(m)E.F.(irst)s making sure we never them?
Just a moment...

Have to say I'm not a fan of pranks, and think that one was pretty stinky. Fortunately, Charles, you are savvy enough to have known just how to handle it and put out the fire. Good for you.

What's next? "Salary" caps for NIL?

The fact that for some reason the Duck fans usually try to start the wave when the Oregon offense is on the field rather than the defense, is one reason I don't join in. That, and the whole husky thing.

Omigosh, this! The Rose Bowl may be historic, but it is a pit!
