I'm going further Joey Harrington's Holiday Bowl win by 7 points over Texas was better than the 30-7 Alamo Bowl over Texas.

Yes! I was at that game and it was so exciting and satisfying. 95% of the TX fans were obnoxious and so sure they were going to win, and before the game Texas kept saying how the Holiday Bowl was going to launch their run to the national championship the following season....

  2. I don't think there were any false starts. Also, I don't think there were any personal fouls (late hits, targeting). Is this right? If it is true, I'd definitely like to see this trend continue.

I think there were a couple of pass interference calls, but so often the PI is better than allowing the catch.

That’s great Annie … Merry Christmas to you and yours. I’m celebrating with my daughters and four grandkids, watching It’s A Wonderful Life for probably the hundredth time…..before heading to San Diego.

It's a Wonderful Life is one of 6 Christmas movies I watch every year. 🙂

Looks like Peyton is a lock for "Triple Committed":  Notre Dame > Oregon > Oklahoma

And if he hasn't actually signed with OU yet, maybe Texas might get in on the action before its all done.

Sounds now as if he has actually signed.

The longtime Notre Dame commit flipped to Oregon on Wednesday, but joined Oklahoma's 2023 signing class on Thursday.

In the previous referenced “Talking Ducks” episode, Mr. Joey Harrington mentioned that college football has changed.  It is not the same as when he played, and it will not be same.  It does not make it bad or worse, it just makes it different.

    ...

One big difference to me is that my feelings about college football are in danger of drifting toward the feelings I have about college basketball, where it is so rare to have a player for 4 years, so we don't really get to know the teams the way we used to. I used to feel as if I knew all the players, or at least most of them, including 3rd and 4th stringers. Now, not so much.

Recall that Slater was a 3☆ who signed with Northwestern. He went on to be an All-American OT that went in the first round to LAC. He had a great rookie season protecting Justin's blind side, and they really miss him this year.

Penei was a 4☆, and we all know how he worked out for Oregon. And now for Detroit.

    Sala: 4☆

Forsyth, Harper and TJ Bass:  3☆

    Ryan Walk:  walk on

You don't need 5-stars to put together one of the premier O-lines in the country. It’s great that Conerly is in the fold and getting a kid like Proctor would be nice. However I think adding an experienced player or two from the portal or juco ranks with Klemm coaching the group, things will be just fine.

Yes, Oregon has done all right will some walk-ons in the past, such as Jed Weaver and Wes Mallard, both of whom also went on to the pros.

Oregon isn't in bad shape with possible starting group of Conerly, Harper, JPJ, Luli, Silva - that's 1 five-star, 3 four-stars and harper a three-star who can play well. Lets see what we can add along with incoming frosh Lalloula a four-star.

I still have a soft spot in my heart for the 3-star players who can play well and/or be coached up to play well. Oregon's done quite all right with some 3 stars in the past. 🙂
