Right now at Autzen it is 151: "Some members of the general public may experience health effects with 24 hours of exposure; members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects."
You can keep track at Purple Air. Just check the circle a little to the left of the intersection of I-5 and 126--that will be Autzen.

Too bad. I love the black uniforms.
A compromise? . . . Yellow uniforms with black helmets, please?
Just thought of something else. The Ducks should have a night similar to Penn State's "White Out" night game. The Ducks could do it with yellow every year and call it Yellow Highlight Night, or just Highlight Night.
I think they've switched the color to black for next week's game.
I like the idea of Yellow Highlight Night. Makes much more sense than Can't See Anyone in the Stands Black Out Night.
Right now according to Purple Air the air quality at Autzen is 100, which is much better than the 155 up the road from my house.

We might be getting hit with the smoke from the Cedar Creek Fire. But it looks like the wind is supposed to move back to a more West to East direction later in the evening.
Could be a lot like the Fresno State game.
I am really hoping and crossing my fingers that we won't get hit with that smoke! Of course, I'm also hoping it won't get as hot as forecast, but not sure the weather spirits pay any attention to me.

I agree--yellow is best, especially for a game where it will be dark in the second half!

Are they expecting strong winds in Eugene through Saturday? Game is late in the day so thats helpful.
The forecast is for strong winds, but the winds might be coming from the East, and in that case they will be hot.
I've got a frozen bottle of water that I'll bring. Did that a few years ago when it was a really hot day and that helped a lot.

Given how hot it is supposed to be on Saturday, the switch makes sense.
BTW, is the Moshofsky Center air conditioned?

Does anyone know for certain what the covid 19 policy is for attending games in Autzen Stadium this year? Will proof of vaccination be required for entry, etc?
When I talked to someone at the ticket office I asked about that and was told there are no covid restrictions this year.
As for myself I'll probably wear a mask on the shuttle bus and when I visit the restroom, but not when I'm seated at the stadium.

Ga has a knack for traveling in hordes and literally taking over an opponents stadium. Even happed at ND a few years ago. Don’t know your stadium size but there would be 30-40-50k fans there. Saw Oregon play along time ago in Athens..don’t remember the year. It was a good game. But yeah the Dogs can eat on the road, too.
Well, Autzen holds about 60,000 with standing room only, and there are lots of Duck season ticket holders, and local folks would be enthusiastic and amazed if GA (or most any SEC team) would travel here for a game, so there probably would not be 30,000-50,000 tickets available for GA fans.

Ken Woody referred to pad level in his after-game article. He's been referring to the pad levels for a few years now. When are the coaches and players going to pay attention to pad levels!?!

The future of our program sits with Thompson and Butterfield....
Maybe. Or maybe it sits with one of the other two QBs on the team (Sanders or Van Dyne), or a player yet to be recruited (a longer wait in that case, but maybe that's how it will be).

I disagree with the premise of this article. I disagree with likening this game to a payout game. And I wholeheartedly disagree that Oregons journey the past couple decades wasn't worth it.
Offensively Oregon made plays, moved the ball to Georgia's side of the field several times. Got into the redzone several times. Just couldn't get into the endzone.
....
The defense has me concerned. The secondary was lit up, linebackers were non existent, and tackling was atrocious. Could have a lot to do with UGA scheme and talent. I suspect not entirely, got to fix that coach.
Plus, GA mostly likely knew what the Duck defense was going to do on every play, which gave them at least a bit of an advantage.

Earlier this year Coach Lanning referred to "watering the bamboo."
A Chinese bamboo tree takes five years to grow. It has to be watered and fertilized in the ground where it has been planted every day. It doesn't break through the ground for five years. After five years, once it breaks through the ground, it will grow 90 feet tall in five weeks!
While I hope it will be sooner than five years, I also didn't expect to see major improvements right away. One game at a time.

One of the most glaring questions I have is: "Just how bad are our backup QBs?"
To have left Nix in ALL GAME, for what was truly a terrible performance, AND a historically horrendous season opening game, I think begs this question.
I think this was posted on one of the other threads, but it does address the issue of leaving Nix in

I have to say, Charles, that the defense today was a surprise to me--I wasn't expecting that.
-
Lanning did say it would take around 5 years of "watering the bamboo before it grows" (or something along that line.)

Could make it interesting for coaches on deciding on recruiting high school players and "shopping" in the portal.

This will give you information about UO parking. Scroll down to the map and you'll see the Millrace Garage, which is right by a path that leads to Autzen. If you turn right just as you get to the garage, there has been a lot that provides parking for Duck games for $10 (as of last year, anyway). If you turn left just as you reach the Millrace Garage it takes you to a lot where I think you can pay by phone and I believe that's $15. But get there early. If you click on the map, it gets large enough to read the names of the roads.
Other parking at the UO just be sure you don't park by a sign that says "Reserved at all times."

Wtih the Ducks having an entirely new set of coaches, including a HC who has not been a HC before, and QBs who have never started a game for the Ducks, I don't know what to think about the game against Georgia, or the entire season, for that matter.

When I go for walks in my neighborhood in Eugene, I and others walking greet and chat with each other all time.
-
I can give you the map, but others here would know better the qualities of the various pubs and breweries.
I think there will probably be plenty of tailgaiting in the morning, both at Autzen and across the street. Again, others can provide details.
Hope you have a fun time in Eugene!

Back in the olden days when I played field hockey in high school there was actually a theory that drinking water at half time was somehow bad for you, so all we got were orange sections for a source of liquid. Crazy then, crazy now.

I seem to remember that it was Cusano who used to step to the sideline after a good play and make a giant "O" with his arms--this was before the "O" with hands now.

And I imagine that vomit spewing all around adds to the spread of germs (anything from colds to who-knows-what).
