Call me old school, I've lived in this state my whole life and I feel the Civil War still means something. Do we have anything to gain by playing the barkrats? Hell yes, bragging rights for a year!
We'll get plenty of recruiting exposure with our B1G schedule and whomever we schedule for our "premier" out-of-conference opponent. We currently play a mid-major annually and it might as well be the rodents because that's what they're now relegated to.
I get it, there's a lot of P2 bitterness right now, 5 years from now no one will care. We'll be established in a Power 2 conference and our annual take will dwarf whatever the Biebers can come up with in the new MWC or whatever becomes of the P2.
The P12 contract was written to include harsh penalties for those who leave the conference. We left, we're paying the penalty, but we're in a great spot for the long game.
As my late father said when I was going through my divorce, "Keep your mouth shut and take the win". Some of the best advice I ever got.

Report: ESPN could pull $7.8 billion media rights offer if College Football Playoff doesn't resolve 12-team format
What a laugher, no way ESPN pulls out of the CFP. I wish they would though, I'd love to see the ESPN stranglehold broken up and it's not like there won't be other suitors.

Yep should be banned, along with "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Sweet Caroline".

I'm sure the SEC honks got a real chuckle when Chip paid Willie Lyles with a check.

Took survey.
I would pay a premium for upgraded facilities in the $250 to $300 per ticket range for an upgraded experience. But, all I would expect would be seat backs, and a little extra leg space for that price. However, I also realize that additional less expensive seating is also needed.
I would donate more money annually if I felt the project was an overall enhancement and equitable upgrade for premium and more affordable ticket pricing. The club and other more private game day experiences are more expensive than I want to pay. Those spaces are definitely needed for any upgrade to be worthwhile.
An upgrade on the north side is inevitable. Concessions, and restrooms on that side are terrible and in need of a remodel.
I agree, a reasonable increase would be acceptable to me, but $1000-$3000 per ticket for some of these premiums? Not happening.

First of all terrible analysis, secondly why even go this route?
These are not professional athletes, they shouldn't be held to the same standard. Boettcher is a walk-on for criminy sakes, he's an overachiever and he gets dissed? Lame.

Yeah Annie I filled it out, most of the options were way more than I'm willing to pay. We're on the north end and restrooms/concessions are pretty bad. As I responded, I don't feel like we should have to pay extra for facilities comparable to the south end.
I guess we all know (or at least suspect) that prices are going up again at some point, I just hope long-time rank and file season ticket holders don't get priced out.

This one's a bit of a head-scratcher to me. Sure a DC job with MSU would make career sense, but a lateral move as CB coach? I can't imagine the draw of his alma mater is that strong, especially since we're loaded and MSU is in rebuild mode.
Could this possibly be Lanning giving him the nudge?

Well the good news is that if he doesn't take this job we can feel pretty secure about his loyalty going forward.
Here I though it was going to be a boring off-season and we still haven't heard what Harbaugh is doing.

I think this has legs. I'm sure Nicky wanted to go out with another natty, but regardless he's still the GOAT. The timing fits, he's getting older and NIL and the portal are completely changing the game. Not saying he can't rebrand himself, but he really doesn't have anything left to prove at this point.
I guess we'll see soon enough if DL was blowing smoke regarding his longevity in Eugene. Hoping for the best, but he's obviously on the short list, probably the main target. That's what Vegas says anyway and they do their homework, although I'm a bit surprised that Kiffen and Sark aren't listed on the current odds sheet.

First of all, I'm a DL fan and I absolutely think we've got the right guy, but to quote Bill Parcels, "Let's put away the annointing oil".
We routinely bad mouth Cristobal (myself included), but he had a winning record in rivalry games, won the conference, the Rose Bowl and beat tOSU in the Shoe. What's DL's biggest win? Sure 2-0 in bowl games but against an unranked UNC team and a badly overmatched Liberty. Yes we've beaten up on some decent teams including USC, Utah and the rodents, but where's the big win? The best team we've played we lost to twice.
Next season we play Michigan, tOSU and the fuskies, not to mention a few teams that can trip us up if we let our guard down. We'll find out soon enough if he can win the big one.

Always warms my cockles to see the fuskies lose!

A fusky win just makes us little brother of the NW. Frick that. Won't do a thing to change East Coast/SEC bias (well Georgia would have beaten them both blah blah blah).
Grudging respect for Penix and Deboer, at least they're not Huard or New-Weasel or Lame-Fright. Still wouldn't make me pull for them if you put a gun to my head.
Now ask me how I really feel ha ha.

I will be rooting for Michigan! The Fuskies and their fans are already insufferable.
Yeah that. Never ever ever root for the fuskies unless a win somehow benefits us. In this case it clearly doesn't.
Sure I feel a little bile coming up pulling for a cheater like Harbaugh, but not nearly as much as a fusky fanbase with a real natty under their belt.

I was pretty shocked when I read that. This really hurts his credibility in my book, I wonder where he finds these supposed Pac-12 "fans" that feel this way. Controlling the direction of the conference is one thing, taking all the proceeds earned by the 10 departing teams is another. Seems to me he's just making stuff up, either that or he's just completely tone deaf.
I never would pay for his content anyway but I just unsubscribed to his free stuff.

Personally I'm glad it's still on. Granted it won't be the same as before, but what is in college football going forward?
As for the money grab, we would have done the same thing in their shoes. Besides, this isn't going to fly once you get it out of an eastern Washington courtroom IMHO. At some point cooler heads will prevail and a negotiated settlement for the distribution of P12 assets will be reached and we can all move on.

NIL should never be controlled by the schools, except if the student himself chooses to be contractually committed to only one NIL deal.
Bit of a disagreement here Jon, as I understand it third-party NIL deals cannot make the player contractually obligated to play for a specific school. There's all kinds of gray area in the current NIL environment; players have had their deals revoked and conversely there is no real protection for the schools if a player bails.
Why not get it all out into the open and let the schools negotiate directly with the athletes for NIL deals tied to playing? If a player can negotiate another side deal with Dr. Pepper or Google Shop, then more power to them.

From Yahoo Sports:
NCAA proposing new college athletics subdivision rooted in direct athlete compensation
SPORTS.YAHOO.COM
The NCAA will introduce a proposal that would grant certain schools more power to compensate athletes in a new way. This proposal specifically exludes "pay-for-play" but the schools would directly control their NIL deals. Seems like an inevitable next step to me.

Annie, I appreciate the enthusiasm but's it's hard for me to get excited about this game. This just isn't a good matchup regardless of the stat lines.
That said, if Bo and some of the other draft-eligible players choose to don the Oregon uniform one last time then I am honored to support them. Of course I'll watch!

Gotta love Bo! That's character, doing what's best for the program instead of what's best for himself.
Thanks for the memories Bo, I'll be pulling for you wherever you wind up in the future.

Well Jon, I'm no lawyer but it does seem to me that the "settlement" goes beyond the terms of separation as laid out in the contract. This leads me to believe that the 10 ex-pats just wanted a clean out without further litigation.
Another consideratioin may be to assuage the consciences of the institutions that collectively buried a century's worth of tradtion in favor of the almighty dollar.
Regardless, what's done is done, it's not going to change and the future for OMD is very bright.
