Avalos No Longer the Top Candidate for Boise State?

Recommended Posts

John Brice at FootballScoop.com reports that Montana State head football coach and former Boise State assistant coach Jeff Choate has interviewed for the job on Monday. Brice also reports that Choate has emerged as "potentially the top target for the same position at Boise State."

This makes sense, Boise State would be step down for Avalos and Moore, and there's not a Jerry Jones at Oregon for Avalos to get away from.

Maybe it shows that Avalos just isn't ready for the top job, yet. I'm sure the loss in the bowl game didn't help his chances. Nice to hear he'll be staying.

This is not a done deal yet. I am still hoping AA is staying. It is very nice to see that another strong candidate is in the mix. The fact that AA interviewed for the job says he is interested. I am hoping he is wanting to see how good of a DC he can be in the highest level of college ball with top notch recruits.
