He said a lot of good things.

"Explosion plays" got my attention.

Also "attacking" in all phases of the game.

Servant leadership was another.

It should be an exciting ride. He seems to have a maturity beyond his years.

His players will love him.

Let's Go DUCKS!!

Well, having seen too many of these recently, that was the best. This is comparing against hindsight of course but Lanning really looked like a guy who landed his dream job at Oregon.

He also stated that the best coaches adapt and reassess. He must have been watching MC to feel the need to reassure everyone on that point

From his confronting "the letter" early on I thought he addressed several complaints lodged about the current state of Oregon football.  Maybe it was just coach speak but his answers offered hope.  Impressive considering the time zone difference and lack of sleep.

I'm honestly surprised to hear that you guys found him to be impressive. To me he seemed very nervous even to the point that his voice was shakey and timid. To me he just gave off the vibe that he felt like he was in way over his head. Kind of like Helfrich used to be in these settings.

That said, he is a really young guy with a great track record and will probably grow into the job over the coming months and years. It will be interesting to see him give a strong, confident press conference somewhere down the road and go back and compare it to this very shaky one.

I'm a Utes fan but I do wish him and the ducks all the best (except when they're playing us! 🙂).
