I am looking for JC to perform at as high of a level as Sewell did. Ducks don't need the production early from Conerly Jr. That should help the young man. Year 2 Ducks will need him to ball out though.

I think the big reason for the comparison is that Connerly may not start as a freshman where Sewell did. And that is just fine. Give him some time to develop and see the field but if he isn't needed for every down that is just fine too.

 

Next year he will need to be a big part of the offensive line as we will yet again be losing 5 starters at the end of this season.
