How former Ducks performed in Week 4 of the NFL

While Week 3 saw a plethora of former Oregon Ducks have personal success in the NFL, Week 4 wasn’t nearly as fruitful.

Players like Juwan Johnson, Pharoah Brown, and Shane Lemieux, who either had their best or only game of the 2023 season last weekend, failed to impact the games they played in this weekend — if they played at all.

There were still plenty of players that were able to make an impact. T.J. Bass is one of the more interesting stories of the week because, despite a poor performance last weekend, he still got in for the Cowboys this Sunday and showed improvement.

Below are check-ins with the rest of the Oregon Ducks’ NFL representatives...

How former Ducks performed in Week 5 of the NFL

In 2023, there are 32 NFL players on either an NFL active roster or practice squad, that went to school at the University of Oregon. While many of them don’t make much of an impact on gameday, that high total is a testament to Oregon’s ability to develop talent.

There are still plenty of players that do play a gameday role for their respective teams. Some like Justin Herbert are stars for their teams, while some players like Troy Hill play smaller roles. But here, I’ll check in with each of the Ducks that played in Week 5.

A former Oregon State Beaver replaces a former Oregon Duck with the New York Giants

A former Oregon Duck and former Oregon State Beaver were involved when the New York Giants made changes to their offensive line Thursday.

The Giants’ offensive line has been decimated by injuries this season, with the latest being former Duck Shane Lemieux. Lemieux tore a bicep muscle during practice Wednesday and the Giants placed him on injured reserve the following day.

Watch: Former Oregon star Kayvon Thibodeaux posts career-best performance for the New York Giants

Kayvon Thibodeaux is showing why he was a first-round pick in the NFL draft. Thibodeaux is looking like he’s going to produce a monster season in 2023.

The New York Giants’ linebacker and former Oregon Ducks’ star added to his sack total by posting a career-high three sacks during the Giants’ game against the New York Jets.

Thibodeaux’s first sack resulted in a fumble from Jets’ quarterback Zach Wilson on Sunday. Thibodeaux beat Jets’ left tackle Mekhi Becton around the left edge, chased down Wilson and stripped him of the football.

Thibodeaux then produced two key sacks during one series with the Giants clinging to a 10-7 lead late in the fourth quarter.

Thibodeaux posted a chase-down sack on Wilson for a 10-yard loss with 2:19 remaining.

Thibodeaux posted his third sack, dropping Wilson for a 15-yard loss on a fourth-and-5 play with 1:33 remaining.

How the Oregon Ducks performed in the NFL's Week 8

Week 8 of the NFL was unusual, particularly because there wasn’t a single team on bye across the league. For us, this meant every pro Oregon Duck’s team took the field this week.

Justin Herbert and Kayvon Thibodeaux had particularly strong games this week, which you’ll want to check out.

One player that you won’t see on the list this week is Dolphins’ star safety Jevon Holland. After spending the week in the concussion protocol, Holland was downgraded to out ahead of Miami’s game against New England.

Although the Dolphins’ defense surely missed Holland, they were still able to crank out a win against the Patriots.

LOOK: Marcus Mariota gets revenge on Utah's Britain Covey for Duck fans everywhere

If there’s any team that has been a constant thorn in the side of Oregon Duck fans over the past several years, it’s the Utah Utes.

If there’s any Utah player who has been at the center of that, it’s wide receiver Britain Covey.

Back in 2021, in the two losses for Oregon at the end of the season in which they were outscored 76-17 at the hands of the Utes, Covey went for 114 total yards, acting as one of the main cogs of Utah’s offensive machine.

Covey’s great play against Oregon goes farther back than that, though. In his four career games against the Ducks, Covey combined for 19 total touches for 246 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also adding a punt return touchdown in 2021.

It’s safe to say that Oregon fans aren’t big Covey supporters. Fortunately, Ducks’ legend Marcus Mariota got a little bit of revenge this year.

Check in the article and see pic of what the revenge was...

How the Oregon Ducks performed in Week 11 of the NFL

While the college football regular season only has one week left, the NFL still has seven weeks before playoffs start. All that means? More opportunities for Pro Ducks to stand out.

The standout former Oregon Duck this week was — unsurprisingly – Justin Herbert. While his team lost, and he didn’t post the best completion percentage, he threw several passes that were dropped that could’ve changed the game.

Pro Football Focus gave him the highest QB grade of the week at 92.7.

Another standout was Kayvon Thibodeaux, who now has 10.5 sacks on the season — tied for fifth in the NFL. Last year, Thibodeaux had only four sacks and has clearly broken out in year two.

Former Oregon Ducks’ star Jevon Holland wins a 98-inch TV after his 99-yard pick-six

Miami Dolphins’ safety Jevon Holland ignored the directive.

The former Oregon Ducks’ star didn’t follow the defensive rule of knocking down a “Hail Mary” attempt. Don’t try to intercept the throw, just knock the football down to the turf.

Holland and the Dolphins are glad he decided to go rogue. He returned his interception of Hail Mary pass 99 yards for a touchdown during the Dolphins’ 34-13 win over the New York Jets on Sunday.

“They want me to knock it down, 100 percent,” Holland said Tuesday on profootballtalk.com. “But in that moment, it was going into halftime, score was close.

I was like, ‘You know what? I’ve always wanted to do that,’ and I was like, ‘You know what? Might as well try it.’ It turned out to fall on my side.”

Holland’s interception return not only helped the Dolphins win the game, it also helped him and a few random fans win a huge prize: a 98-inch television monitor and a spokesperson gig for the company.

Holland’s interception came on the day TCL USA was holding its “Ultimate Gameday Upgrade” promotion.

TCL USA offered to give away $1 million worth of 98-inch TVs if a player scored a touchdown of at least 98 yards during the game. TCL paid up, awarding fans who signed up for the promotion a big screen and they also gave one to Holland.

Where to put the 98-inch television? Holland said he has a wall in his home that will accommodate the new addition...
