Yes, he is leaving...unless he is badly injured and needs another year to get the Draft status he needs.  We'll find out soon!

Of course he’s leaving. Why stay and get injured again. Take emotion out of the decision and it’s an easy financial choice.

If I had to guess (and I guess I am) it sounds like he's not only leaving but he's already played his last game, perhaps.  Or ... this is the greatest example of a mis-direction play this season and he's good-to-go today and the rest of the season.  50-50.

This year, he learned with the right pieces, he could have a great chance to be successful in the NFL.  Maybe Not as a Top 5 Draft pick but surely a top 20 Pick.  A top twenty pick, I would guess has enough team talent, like on the O line and depth at WR's, TE's and RB.  Good Luck to him, he sure made Oregon exciting under a first time HC and first year staff.  Go Ducks.

I don't think so at all.  He does not have an NFL arm, IMHO.  He could be an NFL journeyman, a back-up for a while, but I think he may make more at NIL next year, than being on an NFL roster.

Remember, the draft is thick with QBs this year; if you could choose Nix or Penix for your NFL club....??

But I sure love what he has done, and what he could do at Oregon for another year.

Gotta agree with this...I'm certainly no prognosticator, but if I had to guess, I would go with the idea that we have seen the last of Bo Nix on the field as a Duck. Sigh.

I read this week that his draft grade is as a 3-4th rounder. Good luck to him in any case.

Agree, just a senior message, and his intention all along has been to leave after this season. As a running qb, the CFL may be his best choice, if the NFL doesn't work out.

This last week (which is why I will mention it) one of the pay sites noted that keeping Nix is a possibility and something being discussed. But it will come with a good chunk of NIL to keep him.... And and injury insurance.

But senior day is for anyone who wants to be celebrated and is at this time planning on leaving. Some are out of eligibility while others just haven't fully decided yet. Lanning said as much this week that there are some who are being celebrated who may be returning next year.

If Bo Nix is done, I would like to wish the young man the best in his future endeavors. It has been a pleasure watching him play this season. Bo has proved the doubters wrong and made Oregon’s offense fun to watch again.  He is the main reason that the Ducks were in the playoff conversation late in the season and have a shot to win the conference.

God speed.

Hasn't he been in college for about 7 years now? Seems like it was that long ago when he was a freshman at Auburn and beat Oregon in the season opener with a long heave at the end of the game.

That game you refer to was in 2019, and this is his fourth year.

Totally agree with Charles on this one. NFL is a reach for Bo.

So many factors that enter into a decision besides money, the root of all evil.

What ever decision he and his wife make I wish them the best.

Bo has helped wash the taste out of our mouths over the last few years and I thank him for that.

What ever he does I will be a Bo Nix fan the rest of my life.

Aren't we glad we were wrong?

I was sitting in Section 35 neer the field when the roar went up from the crowd.  #10 came out with the Offense!  I was still thinking we would maybe see him just for a few downs, to see if he could go but I'll be danged if he didn't go the entire game!  And, he had the last run to seal it.

Oregon could agree to agressively market him for Heisman next year and buy insurance. They have done this in the past. Billboard in Times Square.

As per the billboard thing (Joey Harrington) I heard more negative comments on that from friends around the country that weren't particularly O fans (but not O detractors either) about that.  I don't think that expensive purchase swayed one single vote for Joey even if it did get his name out there, "in Lights".  And I remember just cringing when I saw it.  Talk about commercialism!  I thought it was a mistake.

Don’t think he will need a billboard next season. SEC country knows who he is and the pack ? Is getting way more attention than normal with 5 teams in the top 25 and the most tv coverage since the p12 network came around. Thank god.

I’m being selfish, once again, but I would certainly love to see Bo’s tutelage of DM next year and get to watch his genius at the line of scrimmage for one more year. Will it happen? Probably not. But here’s to my dream🍸🍸🍸.

That makes sense, if he is forecasted to get drafted early then of course he's gone, but if he's lower, then he may feel another year would increase his draft stock.

I agree with this statement, I spent a lot of pregame time this season watching Bo warm up next to Ty and Ty has more power in his throws but Bo is more accurate and has better touch.  His accuracy and power might have fit a QB in the 80's but not now.

Bo is a mobile QB and that will help him find a place as a backup but unless he's got more untapped development he just doesn't have the arm for the modern NFL.  I hope he goes in the direction of coaching, he's got a really high football IQ and he does great with leadership.

A lot depends on the nature of the injury he has, I think.  If it's the type of injury that means a 100% return to health with mere time and mild therapy the pro scouts will likely disregard it.  If it's the type that cause nagging problems that only get worse with aggravation by stress while playing, then he may need another year of healthy play on the filed to overcome that.

For his sake, I hope for the former even if we should see him leave.  This kid deserves a real shot at making the Pros - he'd be an exciting QB to watch play at the next level.  Lord knows the young man deserves a look with the competitive nature (and guts!) he's shown.  He's fearless out there on the field.

Or...that being our last Autzen game until the spring game...but yes planning on NFL, but he already has to know what beating the bark rats means...he'll be out there this Saturday, and hopefully in Vegas the following week...and win in Cowvallis over the ag school, and Rose Bowl is highly likely.  ROSE BOWL.  He ain't bowing out of that, injury risk or not, he's a fighter!!!

I'm generally an optimist but I can't agree (as much as I might like to) that a win in 'Corvallis' is a likely deal - even with a 90% Bo and Alex Forsyth (let alone without that).  The Beavers are a legitimate threat to the Ducks this year.  Likely win?  Uh ... no, I don't think so.  A win?  Yeah, I can see it if Bo can go and the Beavers don't knock him out of the game.  We're hearing he's around 60%.  That might not be enough.

Nix was 50/50, maybe 60/40 to go in the Utah game and needed most of Saturday to get right. Like DL said, about the only good thing about the 7:30 start was giving Bo those extra hours to rest then test that gimpy leg. From my view in the stands not too far behind the Oregon bench his right ankle was taped up heavier than King Tut. And he was about as mobile. Yet we saw the results.

I believe Bo will be 80/20 or maybe 90/10 with another week of rehab and will take most of the 1st team practice snaps. Dilly will devise a game plan that utilizes what Nix can do even if not yet 100% and find something to exploit in the Beaver scheme. OSU is a really good team this year with a decent run oriented offense and solid defense.

Don't fear the Beavus, but do respect it.

I would never bet against this kid.  I am 100% sure he is going to find a way to play this upcoming Saturday.  There is zero chance he checks out unless the medical staff forces him out of the game.

He reminds me a lot of Dylan Brooks and Peyton Pritchard.  Remember when everyone said those guys wouldn't make NBA rosters?  Neither of them were the most talented guy on their college roster, but they both had grit and just wanted it more than everyone else.  Nix is that same type of guy.  He is going to make an NFL roster somewhere just because he will work harder and wants it more than everyone.

Mic I'm not saying winning this week is "likely" but IF we win this week, the Rose Bowl is likely.  We beat USuC it's ROSE BOWL!  We lost to USuC and they go to the playoff, and the next best team for the Rose Bowl pick is likely OREGON.  Win THIS week, and the Rose Bowl is a likely possiblity

I’ll be the optimist.  We are going to smash the Beavers in the mouth this weekend, assuming Nix plays.

Both teams are well coached and have very good rush defenses. OSU probably has a slight edge in pass defense. However, Oregon has a massive advantage on offense and overall talent.

Jonathan Smith has done a great job there, but they are not there yet.  In these types of games, talent usually takes over at some point.

There is a reason why OSU dropped games to Utah, USC, and UW and have not yet beat a team with a winning record in conference play.

Ducks 42

OSU 17

I doubt he takes that many practice snaps in truth. He barely practiced at all last week and I can see the coaches getting him in for some 7 on 7 work and a few passing drills but nothing too crazy.

They are going to take the risk of him being rusty and let him rest as much as possible rather than have him practice too hard.

So Thompson or Butterfield will get the majority of those first team reps I'm sure.

If there is such a thing as football DNA Bo was born with it. His father was a head football coach as well as a star at Auburn, I have watched  a few family videos and Bo had quite the arm for a six year old. Hours of watching film with his dad turned into years of studying the game. I have no idea of his future in the NFL, but my gut tells me that his long time future is as a coach. Bo knows football.

I don't know about all that, genes are such funny things, esp when combined with whatever types of genes his mother has.  But I will say this, the young man has the competitive spirit in buckets.  He's fearless out there with a confidence you can see in his every move.  It's partly his age and experience but he must have had it when he was a Freshman too because of how he played.
