DUCKS RING IN NEW YEAR VS. USC

The Ducks look to end their first losing streak of the season after an 82-74 setback against No. 10 UCLA Friday night. The Bruins handed UO its first home loss of the season, while all three Oregon losses have come against teams ranked in the nation's top-10.

Oregon seeks its 12th straight victory against the Trojans and 13th win over the last 14 meetings overall. USC leads the all-time series 45-29 with the Ducks winning seven of 10 games held at Matthew Knight Arena.

No. 17 Ducks aim for weekend split against USC

The Ducks will look to avoid their first weekend home sweep of Pac-12 play since the spring of 2017 when both Cal and Stanford bested

the Ducks to close the conference slate. Oregon lost the first of the pair of games on Friday when the Bruins held off the Ducks 82-74.

The Trojans (11-2, 1-1) are no slouches. They nearly bested the Bruins in Los Angeles in December with their other defeat coming to a very talented

Texas team a few days later. USC bested the Beavers 69-58 a few days ago and will aim to sweep the Oregon schools on the road on Sunday.

Endyia Rogers, Taya Hanson shoot Oregon women’s basketball past USC

Against her former team, Endyia Rogers asserted herself early, often and in ways that emphasize how

dominant she can and needs to be for Oregon to reach its goals this season.

The leading scorer in conference play through two league games, Rogers was 6 of 12 from the field and

made all seven of her free throws.

Sophomore Phillipina Kyei had six points and a career-high 20 rebounds, the most by a UO player since

Jillian Alleyne had 21 on Jan. 29, 2016 against Arizona State.

Ducks demoralize Trojans in bounce-back win thanks to frontcourt dominance

A few days removed from dropping its third game of the season, Oregon wasted little time asserting its dominance over visiting USC, jumping out to a double-digit first quarter lead it never relented in Sunday afternoon's 73-45 victory at Matthew Knight Arena.

The game's standout performance came from sophomore center Philli Kyei though. Kyei became the first Duck player to grab 20 rebounds since Jillian Alleyne finished with 21 back in 2016. Kyei scored six points to go with the career-best 20 boards and four blocked shots. She also assisted on three baskets.

USC Women’s Basketball Takes 73-45 Loss At No. 17 Oregon (Article from Trojan site)

The USC women's basketball team couldn't keep pace with No. 17 Oregon on the Ducks' home turf,

falling 73-45 in a tough day on the road for the Trojans.

Both teams hit four 3-pointers apiece in the first half, but it was Oregon's 44-percent scoring pace that kept the

Ducks out ahead of the Trojans, who shot just 23.5 percent in those first 20 minutes to trail it 41-22 at halftime.

USC was unable to crank it up in the second half while the Ducks stayed the course, as the Trojans finished up shooting a

season-low 23 percent from the floor. Oregon wrapped the game shooting 43.5 percent, and had the edge on the boards 43-41.

Kyei dominates, Basham returns as Duck frontcourt steals the show

During Oregon’s 73-45 bounce back win over USC on Sunday afternoon, sophomore center Philli Kyei dominated

the painted area, recording 20 rebounds as the Ducks protected their home court in dominant fashion.

“This is gonna be a fun journey to watch her from where she started, to where she is now, and where she’s headed,”

head coach Kelly Graves said postgame. “She was a dominant force out there against another really good center.”
