VAN KLINKEN, WILLIAMS ON MID-INDOOR WATCH LISTS

THE BOWERMAN IS PRESENTED ANNUALLY TO THE TOP MEN’S AND WOMEN’S PERFORMERS IN COLLEGIATE TRACK AND FIELD.

Van Klinken, a two-time semifinalist for the award, owns the nation's top mark in the shot put with her 18.55m/60-10.5 effort at the Texas Tech Open (Jan. 28). That measure also improved the school record she first set at the season-opening Cougar Classic. There have been four throws over 18 meters in the NCAA this year, and Van Klinken, the reigning NCAA indoor champ, has them all.

In his last outing, Williams ran a world-leading 6.49 to win the 60 meters at the Texas Tech Open (Jan. 27). The time marked the fifth sub-6.50 performance of his career, and is just .01 off his lifetime best (6.48) which makes him the No. 6 performer in collegiate history. The Portland, Ore., native also has a pair of 6.54 times this season. Williams was the 2021 NCAA champion in the event.

Oregon Ducks women finish an underwhelming 11th at NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships
