Charles...Get Some Help For Your GAMBLING Problem!

Recommended Posts

I still get that on occasion (the title) in emails and on the phone with Duck-Buddies, and although I've explained it before--there are a lot of new people and the story has grown.  First thing is--although a ton of our FishDuck.com articles make reference to pulling me away from a gambling site to address the article topic...the truth is, I've never placed on online bet, or with a bookie anywhere, none.  I have a lot of vices, but I am not into gambling.

So What Are These Gambling References About?

FishDuck.com is getting paid to place backlinks into articles.  Why, and what is that?  Companies, (usually abroad) want their new gambling websites to be found on Google, thus their Google Rankings must go up.  These new gambling site companies go to Marketing/SEO companies and pay them to raise their profile, their "SEO Juice" (Search Engine Optimization) with the Google search process.  If their new site or company is linked on another site (like mine) that has excellent SEO Juice...then it helps them get found in a Google Search so much better.

These links are not advertising, and not meant to generate business, they are just there to be a backlink on my site is all. They pay the FishDuck.com PayPal in US dollars, and while it is not much, it helps to pay the bills of the two sites.

Global Business Never Done Before....

This backlinking business for SEO purposes is something I never anticipated seeing in my lifetime, and yet it employs thousands of participants around the world. Above is a map with a few of the locations where Ad Agencies or foreign SEO firms are located.

In the past two weeks I've done business with firms in the island nation of Cyprus, in Israel, Bulgaria and even the Ukraine! Not long ago I did business a number of times with a firm in the island nation of Malta, and the island nation of Mauritius, off the east coast of Africa

I’ve worked with a firm in Hungary for a New Zealand betting site…a Hong Kong firm to a Canadian website, a firm in the Ukraine for a site in India, and quite a few in the UK for their type of football sites, and even Cricket betting sites. One order was from Derby, England, not far from where the web developer for this forum lives in Sheffield, England.

We do get some American orders, such as FANDUEL from a US SEO company in New Jersey, but most are in Europe such as Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Portugal and even Albania.

Working in the Middle of the Night?

When they are emailing during the day (their time) it is the middle of the night for me. So usually we have a day lag-time of responses, although I have answered people in the middle of the night when I get up to go to the rest-room and check my cell phone for emails. You gotta-do what you gotta-do to keep the FishDuck.com and OBD forum bills paid.

This is an enormous amount of time behind the scenes to keep the bills paid as I answer reams of emails, produce the backlink sentences they want in articles, create articles myself when none are scheduled, send invoices to their firms via PayPal, and then haggle/remind them to pay FishDuck.com.

FishDuck Needs You.jpg

What Can YOU Do?

The good news is that this Shameless Beggar no longer has to hit you up for donations--now that the advertising and backlink orders can pay the bills. My commitment is keep the bills paid of both sites, and have them available for free to the good people of this community and all Oregon fans who join us.

We have volunteer writers, but can always use more who like to write for fun. All our writers work full-time, and write articles to ponder Oregon topics as a hobby.  Email me if interested, as I might be training a new batch of writers (a few hours online is all) and I'd love to do it all at the same time.  charles@fishduck.com

Thank goodness for the volunteer Duck News Hunters, and the Moderators as their time given help to keep the sites at no charge to the public.

Don't just show up to be entertained...jump in and post your opinions!  Better yet, START a thread as we all have something to add to this community.

I am working full-time, so I cannot be posting much on the weekdays, but I will do my part with keeping the sites up. Consider being on of the 30+ volunteers here, or simply start posting.

This is an incredible community, and these two sites are truly a respite from the nastiness of the real world.  God bless you all.

Charles, if you even can get away from your gambling sites long enough to visit some of these places, maybe you can write-off your trip since they are business partners.

Charles, it's no longer "the Ukraine"! Hasn't been for a long time. It could get you in trouble saying such things out loud on public transportation!

"The Ukraine" is incorrect both grammatically and politically, says Oksana Kyzyma of the Embassy of Ukraine in London.

"Ukraine is both the conventional short and long name of the country," she says. "This name is stated in the Ukrainian Declaration of Independence and Constitution."

The use of the article relates to the time before independence in 1991, when Ukraine was a republic of the Soviet Union known as the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, she says. Since then, it should be merely Ukraine.

"After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Ukrainians probably decided that the article denigrated their country [by identifying it as a part of Russia] and abolished 'the' while speaking English, so now it is simply Ukraine.

"That's why the Ukraine suddenly lost its article in the last 20 years, it's a sort of linguistic independence in Europe, it's hugely symbolic."

Yep, I am an old fart, who is behind the times. And that would not be the only topic!

No sweat.

Okay, Charles, you've talked me (shamed me) into it. Since I'm just a retired old guy living the "high life," I've got plenty of time on my hands to write FishDuck articles, blurbs, discussion starters.

Here's a rundown of the ideas I'm noodling for this forum:

  • "The Intersection of College Football with Modern Politics"
  • "'What The fricken**k Are You Talking About, You Twit?!?!': A Debate Amongst Duck Fans on the Don Read Years"
  • "The Sex Lives of College Football Boosters"
  • "Secret Football Strategy Insights Derived From Scribblings on the Bathroom Stall Walls in Autzen"
  • "Who's REALLY Behind the Halftime Snack Spread Along Press Row on Saturdays at Autzen"

Whatya think?  When do I start?

"Charles, it's no longer 'the Ukraine'."

Well... Charles is still kinda right here.

"The Ukraine" refers to a geographic region that extends beyond the nation borders of "Ukraine."

So, perhaps Charles was wanting to be more inclusive and thinking beyond just the confining geographic borders of Ukraine.

Admittedly, however, I am spit-wadding here 😉

You are being very kind.  I was oblivious to it all, and frankly am not as sympathetic as many are towards them.  Only Red China tries to break into my site as many times as Ukraine, and the removal of all political parties there (except for the ruling one) confuses me as to who is actually worse to their people between their government, and their current opponent.

And a Ukrainian SEO company got me to do a boatload of work...and then would not pay me as all others do.  Not a bunch of nice people in my view, thus why I am not worried about the proper reference to them.

But this can get into politics, so I better stop.
