One of the biggest job interviews of these young men’s lives is now over.

Now there’s nothing left to do but sit and wait for what’s to come.

Naming the biggest winners from Oregon's 2023 Pro Day

The Oregon Ducks 2023 Pro Day took place on Tuesday morning at the Moshofsky Center in Eugene. It was a toned down version of the NFL Combine, where 12 former Ducks took the field in front of a large group of NFL scouts to show what they can do.

Various players went through a couple of jumps, the 40-yard dash, cone drills, and on-field position drills.

In the end, their afternoon of work was boiled down to a large set of numbers, and a few pages of notes written in a notebook that several scouts will take back home to their respective coaches.

Official results from Oregon's 2023 Pro Day

With Oregon's Pro Day ending only a few hours ago, the Oregon Athletic Department released the official Pro Day results this afternoon.

These results include the long-awaited 40-yard dash times, official measurements of height and weight, long jump and vertical jump, and both shuttle times.

The measurements here are given in a different format that might be easier for some to compare...

Instant takeaways from Oregon's 2023 Pro Day

All 12 participated in some of the drills, with players like Cota, Williams, Johnson, Battles, and Barry participating in all drills.

As for measurement drills, Oregon's athletes took part in the 40-yard dash, vertical, broad jump, and three-cone drill.

Gonzalez, Sewell, Bass, Aumavae-Laulu, Johnson, and Forysth all took part in the 2023 NFL Combine this past week in Indianapolis with Forysth not running due to a hamstring injury.

Of the six participants, the duo of Gonzalez and Sewell are most likely to be selected in the first two days of the draft process. Gonzalez, after a combine performance that included a 4.38 40 time, is widely considered a first-round draft pick and is likely to be selected in the top 10.

In today's article, I'll be breaking down my instant reactions from Oregon's Pro Day, including some risers and fallers in draft stock.

This would be fantastic. Eagles are running into salary cap issues and what Darius Slay is asking is a little too rich. Gonzo would like this team.

Assessing Jordon Riley's performance at Oregon Pro Day

Oregon Ducks defensive lineman Jordon Riley was most likely not on NFL scouts’ immediate radar, but after the Oregon Pro Day event held inside the Moshofsky Center, Riley might now be a blip on that radar screen.

The big 6-foot-5, 338-pounder showed his speed and agility with good times in the 40-yard dash and in the 10-yard split. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to show his strength as he skipped the bench presses.

DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM

Oregon defensive lineman Jordon Riley had a nice Pro Day and now scouts have the big 338-pounder on their radar.

Assessing Ryan Walk's performance at Oregon Pro Day

There are many reasons to have these so-called “Pro Days” at various campuses nationwide. NFL scouts get to see up close what the potential draft picks can do and write down whatever measurements they need to in order to make a decision come draft time.

But sometimes an athlete catches their eye that the scouts weren’t necessarily expecting to shine. Oregon offensive lineman Ryan Walk may have been one of those athletes.

DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM

Ryan Walk’s impressive pro day may have improved his standing among the NFL scouts who attended the event in the Mo Center.

Christian Gonzalez lands with new team in Mel Kiper's Mock Draft 3.0

Kiper has the Las Vegas Raiders grabbing Gonzalez with the No. 8 pick in the draft.

In this scenario, the Raiders don’t get any of the top four quarterbacks, forcing them to go with the best prospect available.

The player who can most help them win in 2023 is Gonzalez, who ran a blazing 4.38-second 40-yard dash at the combine, backing up what I saw on his 2022 tape. At 6-foot-1, he has outstanding ball skills and elite recovery speed. This is a clear need area for Las Vegas.

Christian Gonzalez is once again projected to land inside the top 10 of the 2023 NFL Draft. This time, Kiper has him landing with a...

Alex Forsyth NFL Draft 2023: Scouting Report for Oregon IOL

Alex Forsyth is a three-year starter inside Oregon's multiple run game. He made 28 starts at center and spent time as a reserve at both guard spots and right tackle. He's a renowned teammate and leader inside the locker room with excellent football character. Physically, he has a lean, narrow build with solid movement skills and middling raw power.

Forsyth wins with efficiency in his footwork and use of hands as a run- and pass-blocker. In the run game, he gets into his fits with sound hat and hand placement on combination and back blocks to create quick leverage on defenders.

There is a lot more in the scouting report in this article...

Draft analyst says Noah Sewell might be "overhyped" as draft approaches

After the 2021 season, Noah Sewell was on the top of his game. He led the Ducks in nearly every defensive statistical category. Although that season ended poorly with losses to Utah in the Pac-12 title game and Oklahoma in the Alamo Bowl, it wasn’t because Sewell wasn’t playing well.

But then a coaching change occurred, a new defensive system was installed and for some reason, Sewell suffered for it. His stats went down. Not only did they go down, but they were also cut in half and it wasn’t because of playing time.

Why that happened isn’t exactly clear, but it wasn’t a shock to see Sewell declare for the NFL draft. Now with the scouts getting an up-close look at him, the hype train surrounding Sewell might have left with him still on the platform.

According to USA Today’s Draft Wire writer Jeff Risdon, Sewell might be a bit overhyped. Here are the reasons given.

Christian Gonzalez remains in top 10 of latest mock draft

A former Duck to the Atlanta Falcons didn’t work out so well in 2022 with Marcus Mariota playing just one season.

But according to the latest mock draft by Draft Wire, the Falcons could very well go back to the Oregon well again with corner Christian Gonzalez.

Atlanta has the No. 8 pick in the 2023 NFL draft and its defense could use the help. A cover corner would go a long way for the Falcons’ return to the playoffs.

Christian Gonzalez on of 17 prospects set to attend 2023 NFL draft

One of the more unique things in sports belongs to the NFL when a player is drafted and gets to go up on stage and give Commissioner Roger Goodell a giant bear hug.

Goodell is one of the more maligned commissioners in sports, but in that moment with the draft picks, he is humanized and it’s quite the spectacle.

Oregon’s Kayvon Thibodeaux was one of those players last spring and according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Duck corner Christian Gonzalez should be the second Oregon defender in as many years to hug Goodell on stage.

Gonzalez is just one of 17 prospects that are currently expected to attend the 2023 NFL draft in person, which will be held in Kansas City. Here are those who should be in attendance.

'When he’s playing football, he doesn’t look like a reserved, quiet kid': The two sides of Christian Gonzalez

It can seem puzzling, standing in the semi-circle media scrum when former Oregon cornerback Christian Gonzalez has the floor. The outward aggression he showcases to overwhelm opponents on the football field just doesn’t match the persona he puts forth to the public.

It’s not that he detests public speaking, he’s just as laid back as they come. In fact, the whole Gonzalez crew is. Maybe not to the extent of Christian.

His older sister Samantha is the most “passionate” of the group, as their mom Temple described it. The youngest, Lily, is more outwardly spoken, as well. And the oldest, Melissa, is a lot like Christian.

As a man of few words, one might describe Christian as quiet. Samantha sees it as his maturity is beyond his years.

But they’ve surely seen the other side come out.

“I think when he’s playing football, he doesn’t look like a reserved, quiet kid,” Melissa said. “He’s aggressive. He’s leading his team. I think that’s when I see him really step into his personality. He knows when he needs to speak up, and it’s on the football field.”

This is a good article about Christian Gonzalez, a human interest type article I think you will like from The Daily Emerald.

NFL assistants have mixed reviews about former Ducks CB Christian Gonzalez

One of the most welcome surprises for the Oregon Ducks in 2022 was the strong play of cornerback Christian Gonzalez.

Gonzalez was recruited as a 4-star CB by the University of Colorado and put up two solid years in Boulder before coming to Oregon. Gonzalez was anticipated to be a solid addition to the Ducks’ defense, but his output last season was a large improvement from his play at CU and exceeded all expectations.

After his stellar 2022 campaign, Gonzalez is projected to be a first-round draft pick, likely being taken with one of the first 15 picks. Ahead of the draft, an anonymous NFL defensive coordinator said this to The Athletic.

“He probably has the best measurables in a corner to come out since maybe Jalen Ramsey. He’s not an absolute savage and doesn’t have that cornerback attitude, but the coaches at Oregon’s say he’s a no-brainer and is gonna work hard,” he said.

The Athletic also surveyed two unnamed NFL defensive backs coaches. The first gave strong reviews for Gonzalez while the second wasn’t so sure.

Jon Gold: Top 10 Pac-12 NFL Draft prospects feature CB, TE flavor

For the first time since 2019, the Pac-12 does not have a clear-cut top-10 pick.

But unlike that year, when the league’s teams waited until Washington State’s Andre Dillard went off the board at No. 22 to the Philadelphia Eagles, the conference shouldn’t have to wait too long this year.

And after Oregon’s Christian Gonzalez goes off the board — perhaps as early as No. 7 and as late as No. 12 — the wait shouldn’t be long again.

Here’s a look at my top 10 Pac-12 prospects for the 2023 NFL Draft, which begins Thursday night ….

Where former Oregon CB Christian Gonzalez lands in latest mock drafts on eve of 2023 NFL Draft

'Twas the day before the NFL Draft, when all through the house, not a team was stirring, not even a coach.

The 2023 NFL Draft is 24 hours away, and former Oregon cornerback Christian Gonzalez has a chance to make history as a member of the Ducks. Gonzalez is a near consensus top-10 draft pick. If so, he will become the highest-drafted Oregon cornerback in program history, beating Alex Molden, going No. 11 overall in the 1996 NFL Draft.

Gonzalez also has the chance to be the fourth consecutive top-10 pick, joining Justin Herbert, Penei Sewell, and Kayvon Thibodeaux.

See where the various mock drafts have Gonzalez going in the article below...

Keep an eye on these Pac-12 stars in the 2023 NFL Draft

The 2023 NFL Draft kicks off this week and the talent coming out of the Pac-12 this year is superb. Don't just take our word for it.

NFL Media analyst and former scout Daniel Jeremiah is well-regarded analyst not only for his own scouting skills, but how plugged in he is to all 32 NFL teams. He believes it's a good year for the conference and chances are so does the league.

"It's a good year for the Pac-12 when you have my top tight end (Dalton Kincaid, Utah), top wide receiver (Jordan Addison, USC), No. 2 cornerback (Christian Gonzalez, Oregon), No. 3 running back (Zach Charbonnet, UCLA)," Jeremiah said on his media call a week before the draft.

The first round begins Thursday at 5 p.m. PT, followed by the second and third rounds on Friday at 4 p.m. PT and the final four rounds on Saturday at 9 a.m. PT. All on ESPN/ABC and NFL Network.

With less than 24 hours until the picks start rolling in, we analyzed mock drafts from experts at The Athletic, ESPN, NFL.com, and Pro Football Focus to see when each Pac-12 star may come off the board.

Eight players are projected to be drafted in the first three rounds, including three consensus first-round picks.
