There were several times where Gabriel had a check down option on the right hand side of the field that was WIDE OPEN. Sadiq and WRs were sitting there without a defender within 10 yards of the them and he took a sack or forced the ball into traffic. He has made that play all year. What happened?
Has anyone seen an interview with DG? Love to hear his thoughts. Not a performance you'd expect from a 64 game veteran in the biggest game of his career.

Kenyon Sadiq? From a schematic perspective, I'd like to know how Kenyon went from monster game against PSU to non-factor in the Rose Bowl? Seemed like DG wasn't seeing the field as he normally does, but I also didn't see many/any throws to Kenyon. Isn't he one of our Uber athletes that's difficult to match up with?

DL has displayed an uncanny and unique ability to forecast the difference-making elements in EACH game this season. A few examples include the "kick the door down" analogy before the Illinois game, punctuated by Whittington's destruction of an Illini d-back on his way to the end zone, the infamous film clip he showed of Mike Krzyzewski highlighting the satisfaction of running fans out of their arena, punctuated by the called time out to watch Michigan fans exiting the Big House, and the almost prophetic announcement to Kenyan Sadiq before the Big Championship game that tonight was going to be his coming out party, punctuated by TWO first-quarter touchdowns.
These are not by chance. I think DL has a unique focus on what it was and is going to take to win each game in this first-ever 16-game college football championship. We are watching Coach Lanning use his players and his playbook like a veteran card shark in a game of hearts. After bleeding the other strong suits and hold-out cards from his competitors, he knows he has in his hand what is needed to run the table and take home the prize.
DL has set OBD up to run the table, one play at a time. It should be fun to see what he has up his sleeve.
In DL we trust.

I’m still weary of the term “unfinished business”. That’s what Chip said when he turned down the NFL about two weeks before he changed his mind and took the Eagles job.
I like this quote a lot more: "This will be the place I'm coaching for a long, long time."

Jeanty kicked our defense's butt too. Everyone watches him and says he just plays against defenses that can't tackle to save their life. It's more that mere mortals can't tackle a ball of muscle with the balance of a ballerina and the speed of a gazelle.
And RB performance is highly dependent on the OL. What if Jeanty played in the SEC with the best OL? I don't think his performance would be much different than it is with his current OL in a mediocre conference.
No doubt Jeanty is a great running back. Also no doubt that week in, week out he played against far inferior competition than DG. I'm pretty sure most voters will side with your perspective.
By the way, the Moore Award, given to the best OL group, has gone to the B1G more than any other conference.

Quality of competition should matter on some level. How Heisman worthy is a h.s. kid who runs for 400 yards and 6 touchdowns against a h.s. defense? Looking at Hunter's team, they played only one ranked opponent all season, Kansas State, and lost. In that game Hunter tallied 3 receptions for 26 yards, and on the other side of the ball notched one tackle. DG on the other hand had a plethora of "Heisman Moments" against some of the best programs and most difficult environments in the country.
Not saying that TH isn't talented, but if I'm in a room trying to decide between 4 of the most talented players in the country, I'm going to give some consideration to who each of them played against, and what they did when they played against the best.

Oregon fans could not have been more than 25%.
It was a white out.
Either that or the cameras never panned to the Oregon fans.
I think your last comment nailed it. I saw a video clip on "X" today of OBD fans going crazy to "Shout" between the 3rd & 4th quarters. The white outs looked miffed that Duck fans were partying in their place! Not a whiff of a mention by the broadcast folks.

QUAAACK: Coveted LB Gavin Nix Flips Commitment to Oregon
WWW.ON3.COM
2025 Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy linebaker Gavin Nix has flipped his pledge from the Miami Hurricanes to the Oregon Ducks. -
Could not agree more: It's time to retire the, "Kenny Wheaton's gonna score" rift. Whereas I once found it inspiring and thought I'd never tire of seeing it, I now find myself cringing when it is aired before EVERY game, as if it portrays the only moment of glory and the zenith of Oregon football. While it may have signaled the dawn of a new age, it is now tired and time to put it to rest IMHO.

Having Tez back was nice!
His impact may not have been huge quantitatively, but qualitatively? Sure!
I think it makes a difference having all the players in their usual roles, and UW’s defense having to honor TJ’s presence; opens the offense up more.
It looked like the plan was to benefit from Tez's presence on the field AND to allow him to get some of the rust off from his extended absence. I loved seeing him go to the ground safely several times, and minimize the end zone gang celebrations after his touchdown catch. Mission accomplished. He looks ready for the playoff stretch!

Notre Dame Beats Georgia 23-10 in the Sugar Bowl
in Our Beloved Ducks
Another higher seed going down to a team with playoff momentum = Not playing for a month is not a good reward for winning a conference championship.
