No reason to celebrate. The virus is still here and will assuredly ramp up again at some point with a new variant. I will continue to wear a mask in most public situations regardless of the new regs.

I am damn happy that Dana Altman is our coach.

Good luck to John Canzano. I don't always agree with him, but he is entertaining. Plus he seems to do a lot of good things in the community.
Not sure I will pay for access to his site if it comes to that.

Unless they can stop embarrassing themselves, no.
Next looming disaster: first round tournament game vs. the hapless beevurs.

No more P5 games against FCS opponents. This isn't basketball. Enough dumbing down of football schedules. Feel free to weigh in with your overwhelming agreement!

But at least they can beat the Cougars in FB and BB. Oh wait . . .

But through thick and the thinnest of skins, UW fans show up for the home games in Seattle.
This year, not so much.

The arms race that will destroy college football is underway.

What was Richardson thinking?

Graves post-game interview was priceless.

No team that played 9 conference games has won the playoff in its 8 seasons of existence. Perhaps the Pac-12 needs to smarten up the schedule? To not play Utah the same weekend Bama is playing New Mexico State?
If all teams played 9 conference games, as I suggest, your point goes away. I want competitive games week in and week out. No FCS opponents. At least one Power 5 non-conference game every year. Other two non-conference games can be Power 5 or other FBS schools. That may mean that in some years you don't get 7 home games. That's fine with me if we raise the level of competition throughout college football. With just 12 glorious football weekends each Fall, don't waste one of them with a massacre of some FCS school needing a payday. Sorry Portland State.

Good to hear. Don't need to dumb down the schedule. The push should be for the other conferences to play 9 conference games.

I find fault with many of your comments.

Not that I disagree with you about the whole Lincoln Riley big fish small pond thing, but he was a fish in the BIG12. The SWC collapsed in the mid 90s and hasn’t existed since 1996.
Thanks for correcting. I was spacing on the name of the conference and "Southwest" sounded good. Wrong!

Sounds good to me. We could replace one of the FCS cream puffs on our future schedules with Miami.

September 5, 2015. Kupp had 15 receptions for 246 yards and three touchdown. Fortunately, we had Vernon Adams (EWU transfer) and Royce Freeman. Oregon 61, Eastern Washington 42.
It seems that all Don Essig said the entire afternoon was "pass complete to Cooper Kupp."

Yes to getting rid of Civil War.
Hell no to the Platypus Bowl. Just an embarrassing name for a rivalry game, IMO.

Dismal performance today. Couldn't shoot straight and no help from the big guys. Sigh.

Oregon makes big jump in latest NCAA Tournament Projection
Or down, as the case may be. If the big guys don't start contributing, I don't see us in the tournament.

Riley is the most overhyped coach in the history of college football. He was a big fish in the small pond called the Southwest Conference. 0-3 in playoff games. If not for the LA media market and the AD's goofball introductory press conference remarks, this would just be another hire.

I never read Canzano . . . just last week he wrote . . . .
You may hate him, but you read him. That's what it's all about for a columnist.
I think he's pretty good myself. We disagree a lot, but generally he gets it.
