  1. I continue to think the Ducks are and were a better team than the Dawgs. We blew game one due to some questionable offensive calls and came out flat, very flat, in game 2. Losing to them sucks. But thinking their possible success will make me feel better about OBD is nuts. I'm thinking a rematch between Texas and Alabama in the final, with 'Bama the winner.

  2. Like others, I think TT was a young man of great character and potential. We saw him perform in games in a less than stellar manner, somewhat due to the mop up role he was given. He frequently was paired with other second tier performers and the plays called for him were not at all aggressive. Plus, who will look top notch when compared with the best, in my opinion, qb in college football. I think that could be an issue for Gabriel. Will we compare him to Nix? Tough standard to meet.

  3. Doubts about Ty Thompson are caused by a few factors. 1) He is compared to the best quarterback in College Football, therefore he doesn't appear to be ready. 2) He typically comes in to run out the clock and throw very conservative routes. 3) He is not surrounded by starters in most cases. Reason one will fade away slowly, but two and three's disappearance will give Ty and us fans more confidence in his ability.

  4. I have been feeling it too! There is a confidence that this team is so deep, is focused, disciplined and on a mission. DL and his staff have assembled a great group of young athletes who have the character to match their skills. We also have the best leader on the field in Bo Nix. That said, the Beavers always pose a challenge, but our Ducks should win this Civil War by at least 2 touchdowns. On to Vegas for sweet revenge!

  5. I thought this was the Ducks poorest performance since the Texas Tech game. Penalties, dropped passes, some errant throws; I believed we were improving. Last night was a step back and may cost us in the playoff rankings. Additionally, we need to fix our place kicking game as it could prove to be critical in our next two or four games.

  6. This incredible display of confidence by those submitting opinions is justifiable. This a very special team led by a young man of the highest quality, a prospective Heisman winner, accompanied by a complete roster of unselfish contributing teammates. It is also time to acknowledge that we probably have the finest coaching staff in the country. This is a very special season but it will become the norm not the exception.

  7. Caleb was probably upset at blowing any shot at a Heisman repeat via his poor showings recently, most notably against Notre Dame. He also is likely frustrated with SC's pathetic defense and his O Line's inability to pass protect. He's getting hammered frequently. Thirdly, USC is out of the CFP, so no title shot for Caleb.

I'm betting he plays in all remaining games.

  8. I am saddened that Bryan Addison has taken time off for personal reasons. I sincerely hope and pray that he is able to deal with whatever off-field issues have challenged him and will return to the line-up soon. He is blessed with incredible physical gifts. Given the quality and character of his teammates, he has a wonderful support group that is available to assist.

  9. On the next to final drive, the Ducks made nothing on 3rd down and 4th down. That hurt. The worst coaching decision was not getting 3 right before the half. Lanning does so many things right that the mistakes get magnified. We zealous fans need to chill. I think the Ducks will run the table and redeem themselves against the Dawgs on a neutral field in Las Vegas. Keep the faith.

  10. An amazing finish to the season. PAC-12 Tournament Champions, Regional winners, and, oh so close, to going to Omaha. So much to be proud of for a wonderful group of young men.

That said, Sunday's pitching performances were among the worst imaginable. I understand the injury situation to the front line staff, but the absolute inability by accomplished recruits to throw strikes proved fatal. 11 walks and 4 hit batters! 15 free passes made it impossible to compete. Hopefully Coach Was can get some new talent to come to Eugene.

  11. I regret seeing Ware leave. He demonstrated enormous talent during infrequent appearances and had the potential to be a huge asset for our Ducks. I have no clue about his off court attitude and that may have propelled him to depart. I believe that this under-performing and extraordinarily inconsistent team suggests Altman and his assistants had a sub-par year. Altman is a great Coach, but this year was very disappointing.

  12. Thank you Charles for providing this forum where we can sound off in a civil way about our beloved Ducks. We appreciate your hard work. Such a wonderful conclusion to a 10 win season. Happy New Year!

  13. Bo's return is truly great news on a variety of levels. Bo has proven himself to be an incredibly gifted athlete, but he is also a well grounded leader. His values, as demonstrated by his decision to stay for one more year, provide more evidence of that. One concern, however, is the injury factor. Should Bo be sidelined for a game or more, I would like to have Moore ready to go. I hope Dante considers that possibility, plus the benefits of being a Duck, before he bails on his commitment.
