My take on Chris is all the noise fried his love of coaching. I honestly don't think he wants or needs to go back to that crap. If memory is correct he and Helf had a conversation on flight about it all right before he stepped away.

Might have been a Canzano article.

    Does that ring a bell?

Yeah, I recall similar reports. I guess I'm just wondering if he's someone who might want to jump back in after a break. Sometimes coaches get tired and leave, but after a couple years, the bug kind of gets back into their system and they get back into it.

Wife got a good offer from Mandalay Bay.  Walking distance to the game.  Two free nights hotel, $400 free slot play, $400 in free meals.

From a total cost/value standpoint, I am essentially going to the game for free.

Proof that sometimes it pays to be an optimist!

    Nice!

I'm going to drive down with my son, his buddy from school, and his buddy's Dad. Buddy and his Dad are Utah fans, but I think it will be a good opportunity for the two boys to learn to either 1) not be a jerk if you're team wins, or 2) be happy for your friends when they have success even if you don't. I just hope buddy's Dad and I can keep it clean and model those lessons!

The young QBs in the clubhouse must have been terribly overrated, are being negligently under-coached, or both? And why recruit all of the WRs?

Something I've been wondering: Could the deal with the QB question be that they don't want to burn one of TT's years at this point? Like the philosophy all year has been that he won't burn his redshirt under pretty much any circumstances, and this year they'll just try to make do with who they have? And they've just been kind of fortunate to cobble together wins to reach 9-2?

I don't know, I just recall those games against Stony Brook, Arizona, Cal . . . and it just sort of feels like we've be a paper tiger all year. Ohio State game being the exception that proves the rule, I guess.

  4. Well, as the username suggests, we're a family of relocated Ducks deep in the heart of enemy territory. I hate to say this, but I had a feeling this was going to happen. Went to the Utah-UCLA game a few weeks ago, and after watching Utah's offense live, I felt there was a strong chance they'd shred our soft D. I really dislike the defensive scheme. It's like the classically inept "play not to lose" philosophy all game long. Wasn't expecting our offense to be THAT bad, but suspected Utah would be putting points up at pace we wouldn't match with our lack of explosive plays down the field and our, eh, personnel.

Considered at one point getting tickets at taking my 9 y/o to the game. (We went to the CCG in 2019, and he had the time of his life!) But I had a strong enough feeling about this one that we didn't do it, and boy I am glad! Watching that game in that environment would have destroyed him. He was in tears just watching from home. Poor kid is going to have a rough time facing the music at school on Monday. Any words of encouragement from other FishDuckers would be most appreciated, just so he knows he's not alone in his despair! And, I guess, thanks Ducks for presenting him this great opportunity for character building and personal growth 😂.

Probably will make the trip to LV if (IF!) the Ducks can right ship. Here's hoping for a rematch and a repeat of our '19 spoiler!
