  1. Thanks for the video and posing the question. I watched the video very carefully, especially the first three minutes. I didn't count, but many of the passes during practice looked like floaters to me. The receivers often had to hold up or turn and catch the ball behind them instead of on the fly. These throws are without defenders on the field. I'm afraid many of these would be picked off. Yes, some of those high school throws are impressive, but that's HS and I'm assuming those are cherry picked highlights.

I am cheering hard for Ty. I love his loyalty and dedication. I have seen improvement this year over the past couple years, but I'm afraid he still has a long way to go. I hope Nix stays healthy, I wouldn't want the Ducks to have to depend on Ty.

and their chances to make the CFP have tanked, though they aren’t yet at zero.

Here’s how ESPN’s FPI views the rest of the schedule for the Ducks:

Odds makers don't win or lose games. Players and coaches do. Ducks were heavy favorites over the Huskies, but apparently the Huskies weren't buying it. Ducks, go fight, win!

My biggest fear about the Ducks' season is that we'll waste a year finding out that Nix pretty much is who he showed he was at Auburn.  Are Butterfield or Thompson ready?  No idea.  But if we don't have a reliable QB1, this season is toast before it begins.

I'd rather have growing pains with one of the young guys and have a great QB for late in the season and next year, than spend much of the year watching Nix implode and then switching to one of the younger QBs when it's too late.

Maybe Nix will start and be terrific.  I just fear otherwise given what he's shown in his career thus far.

Cincy's Luke Fickell is the answer to our search. I'm surprised his name hasn't come yet. He just led Cincy to the CFP and he has a hell of a W/L record and he's young.

Uncle Phil, let's take a look at this guy. If he can get a lousy program like Cincy to the playoff, think what he could do in Eugene.

Many people have suggested that and I'm sure that Rob Mullens is well aware of Luke Fickell.

If Uncle Phil really wants a natty in Eugene, he could get this done. Offer Nick Saban double his salary and his own Nike shoe that he gets the royalties.

We'd have that natty inside 3 seasons and the likes of Saban would never lay an egg vs. Utah.

Does anyone think Saban needs money? I doubt money is any motivation to him at this point in life.
