NJDuck Author Moderator No. 2 Share Posted March 5 Oregon to hire Missouri State's Donte Ellington as analyst The Oregon Ducks are making an addition to their coaching staff, hiring former Missouri State coach Donte Ellington. Ellington worked as a wide receiver coach and special teams coordinator for Missouri State, and per 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, he will come to Eugene as an analyst. In 2023, three of Ellington’s wide receivers at Missouri State gathered over 500 receiving yards, all averaging 40+ yards per game and 10+ yards per catch. The Bears’ most productive receiver, Raylen Sharpe, had 991 receiving yards and 7 TDs in 10 games played last season. HDuck No. 3 Share Posted March 6 Yes, $8M seems like a big chunk. But, when Jonathan Smith joined Michigan State in December it was reported his assistants pool would be $10.75M, more than twice what he had at Oregon State. DeBoer had $7.5M pool at Washington. Alabama under Saban was $9.17M which was an increase from $8.24M. There was quite a bit of assistant coaches changing jobs around the bigger conferences in the off-season as each program looks for best coaches, best recruiters. It's a wild market out there. Dave23 No. 5 Share Posted March 6 Looks to me like the only coach we lost was Coach Meat. This will be really big for the Ducks when was the last time we had this much consistency at the coaching position? Maybe 2012.
NJDuck Author Moderator No. 6 Share Posted March 6 Report: Ducks add Matt Lombardi as analyst to football program According to Matt Zenitz of 247sports.com, the Oregon Ducks football program is expected to hire Matt Lombardi as an analyst. Ever since Dan Lanning arrived in Eugene, he has transformed the football staff to look more and more like a professional organization and the hiring of Lombardi is another step in that direction. The newest member of the Duck football staff is coming most recently from the Las Vegas Raiders and he has experience with the Carolina Panthers. With the Raiders, Lombardi was an offensive assistant and an assistant receivers coach. A bonus is that he worked with current offensive coordinator Will Stein when the two were at Louisville.
