Oregon Pulls Away at the End, Beats Washington 82-71

Recommended Posts

At 1-6 in B1G and 10-8 overall, Washington is a Q3 opponent. Which means OBD has to go Indiana on them!

Oregon is 4-3 in conference games now, 13 left. I'm calling a 13-7 final record, could be a top 4.

I just want to see Bamba not be useless on offense, please for the love of all that is green and yellow shoot what you shot every other year you have played basketball!!!!!

We are literally depending on him to shoot better than 33 to 35% from 3 or we aren't going anywhere, we need him desperately to become the player he has been at every other stop he's had.  Angel as well has to shoot what he has shot the other years he's played in college, we need that element to compete against the better teams around the country, without it we will see a lot more games like Purdue.

Just being the player he was earlier THIS season would be enough. Purdue didn't play well, just better than Oregon did, If the Ducks had managed 35% on 3's instead of 29%, maybe two rebounds Purdue didn't get, they win. Bamba has been demonstrably inefficient, Angel has been M I A for most of the games.

They need to have Bamba and Angel start producing more. It's nothing that they haven't done before. If I were Altman I would start Key he is a great shooter and starting him would get him in rhythm faster rather than coming in cold from the bench. The first half of the game with Purdue was really intense, definitely the best defensive stance all season. They need to maintain that.

Maybe the football team is rubbing off on basketball, 1-8, 3-5 Ohio State, just beat 15-5, 7-2 Purdue, 73-70, on the road, Purdue was ahead, 41-28 at halftime.

How about Oregon 74 Washington 59.

Great game so far. Both Bamba and Angel are playing hard. Bamba actually made a three. The refs were really slow to call fouls. Evans even drove to the basket two times expecting fouls but no luck. Wash. can't shoot threes, currently 1/12 and they don't seem to get offensive rebounds so they just need to defend the paint which they were doing better near the end of the half. They just need to keep it it. I love Luke Jackson's analysis, he is always right on.

If Shelstad shows up we win. With 11 minutes to go he is 1 for 4 with a total of 2 points.

Ugly win, give props to Bamba and Angel, they both showed up, it wasn't always pretty, but they did enough to win the game, and it's good that both of those guys saw the ball go into the basket.  They both still aren't shooting that well from deep, but at least they were able to get their inside game going.  It's going to rough seeing teams dare Bamba to shoot from outside, but at least he saw a couple go in from there.

Now they go on the road to a mediocre Minnesota team and a struggling UCLA team, need both of them I think.

They finished strong at home by 10. I swear they are going to give me a heart attack. Great game by Bamba, Angel and Cook. Bamba had 21. Wow. Cook even made most of his free throws. Things are looking up. They need this kind of production from those three. The Refs threw off a lot of the rhythm of the game especially for Bittle. Very poor calls.

They called a flagrant foul on Key which to me only looked like just a hard foul. Really good game. Wash. played hard, this is their fifth loss. This conference is brutal but if Oregon can continue to play like this they will do well. The announcers just said that the ducks only have five home games left, and it's still January.

The road's been Oregon's friend so far. Definitely need both of those to finish in the top 4. Bamba and Angel led the way this time, imagine if the whole team showed up!

Maybe not the worst thing.

My thoughts on Angel is that he is a perfectionist and he doesn't want to shoot unless he can make it.
