The Wildcats handed UO its fourth loss of the season, all coming to teams ranked in the nation's top 15. UO split two games on its road trip to the Grand Canyon State after starting the weekend with an 82-62 trouncing of Arizona State. Oregon owns a 54-51 series lead against Washington and seeks its 10th straight win against the Huskies. UO claimed the only meeting a season ago, 68-61, in Seattle, while the Ducks are 7-2 against UW at Matthew Knight Arena. Pennsylvania Duck Author Moderator No. 2 Share Posted January 11, 2023 Grace VanSlooten's status up in the air for this weekend, Ahlise Hurst cleared to play Injured guard Ahlise Hurst, who'd missed the past three games with injury, has been cleared for full contact drills, while freshman forward Grace VanSlooten spent the day in a walking boot watching from the sideline. "Grace did not practice today and she is still a question mark for the weekend," Oregon coach Kelly Graves said. "She was here though and feels better. She's still wearing a boot. We'll see. We're hopeful." With the top scorer a game-time decision to play, and the second-leading scorer off the mark, reserve guard Taya Hanson keyed the Ducks victory with a game-sealing three with 25 seconds to play. The Ducks got a scare Friday from Washington, but the Oregon women's basketball team pulled away down the stretch to beat the Huskies 65-58 before 6,497 fans in Matthew Knight Arena. "I congratulate Washington — they played hard, played really well, gave us everything we can handle," UO coach Kelly Graves said. "But I'm really proud of our team. We made the plays down the stretch, especially defensively and also on the offensive end. It certainly wasn't our best game tonight. But it's a Pac-12 win, and that in the end is what matters."
