Graziani93 No. 29 Share Posted January 22, 2023 Wow, just wow. I'm so done with this team. We have absolutely no alpha dog, no leadership, no one to hold anyone accountable when encountering any resistance. This team seems to get so full of itself when it wins one game that it thinks it can just slide by piss-poor competition (see Stanford, UC Irvine, Utah Valley) without having any fight/passion. My wife had given me the ok to go to Vegas in March and enjoy the Ducks in the Pac-12 tournament and I was excitedly making plans (flight, hotel, tickets, etc.). After tonight, it's just not worth it, I think I'll pass. I'll just go play some poker at some casino here on the East Coast.

It's so frustrating. Seems this team continually falls behind early in games and waits until the end to try to get it going. You're right, we have no alpha dog, like a Payton Pritchard, to motivate/energize this team when it's needed. Also, I don't remember a Duck team so bad with shooting slumps, bad defense and missing free throws. We had so many chances to win this game, but it just wasn't to be.
Pennsylvania Duck Author Moderator No. 32 Share Posted January 22, 2023 Oregon lays a dud in a near must-win game at Stanford The Ducks failed to get the elusive second win of this road swing. Now Oregon's NCAA Tournament at-large chances are on thin ice. Stanford shot above 50 percent from the field for just the fifth time this season, and the Cardinal shot the second-best shooting percentage of the year on 3-pointers. As Oregon's defense allowed a poor shooting Stanford team to get hot, the Ducks fell 71-64. As poor as Oregon's defense was in the game, their offense was equally as bad. The Ducks shot below 40 percent from the field, failed to draw fouls for free throw attempts, and finished the game shooting just 14 shots from the line. The loss to a Stanford team with now just seven wins on the year, Oregon will see its gains in the NET rankings drop hard. This team really depends on Richardson for their leadership and when he's not on the team is flat. With a team that changes so much years to year having that core guy that has been with the team is super important. Most of the past "it" guys came to Oregon out of highschool and where developed into l leaders that could hold the team together when the going got tuff. Really hoping Jackson Shelstad will be that guy going forward.
