Pennsylvania Duck Author Moderator No. 12 Share Posted March 5, 2023 Oregon's offense showcases potential in 13-0 victory over San Diego A year after lighting up the Pac-12 with offensive displays last season, Oregon's offense had gotten off to a slow start in 2023. Offensive expectations were high for the Ducks as they returned plenty of talent and brought in a top-five recruiting class. Saturday's 13-0 win over San Diego showcased the Ducks' offensive talent, with six different players driving in runs, including six from Colby Shade. "(We) played a complete game, and that's what it looks like," said head coach Mark Wasikowski. "And we faced a really tough pitcher, that's probably their ace. The guy they threw yesterday was really good. We just got to him. The offense did a great job. Through 4.1 innings or whatever he had with 86 pitches, and that helped us working counts deep and getting better pitches to hit, which was really good." Pennsylvania Duck Author Moderator No. 16 Share Posted March 5, 2023 Oregon baseball demolishes San Diego 13-0 to clinch series It’s the day Oregon has been waiting for. Offense has been a tough commodity to come by for the Ducks, despite a talented stack of names in the lineup each day. Early in the season, they’ve scratched out some wins and fell flat in some losses. Even in their wins, they haven’t felt like the offense has fully been there. On Saturday, it was fully there. Oregon exploded for a 13-0 win over San Diego, winning its third straight to clinch the four-game series. Colby Shade led the way with six RBIs, while Tanner Smith and Sabin Ceballos also hit homers. Jackson Pace made things stress-free on the mound, capping a dominant, well-rounded performance from the Ducks. Click here to read about the big win in the Daily Emerald.
