Pennsylvania Duck Moderator No. 1 Share Posted March 28, 2023 The NCAA Football Oversight Committee is expected to introduce new “non-controversial legislation” to the Division I Council next month, according to a report this week by Pete Thamel. A pitch for changes to the calendar and other factors involving recruiting is expected to be introduced within the next two weeks, Thamel explained. Since the adoption of the Early Signing Period several years ago and college football's rapidly growing transfer portal, coaches and staffs have no offseason when it comes to recruiting — and little time to breathe, between the end of the regular season in December, with important dates on the recruiting calendar. Under the proposed new rules, coaches would be able to contact prospective recruits nearly a year earlier in their high school careers than previously and speak with them after spring practice and prior to summer break, among other changes. Pete Thamel will break down each of the proposed changes for you in the article...
