  1. Still not sure what to make of that team. Adding Warren Sapp to the staff is pretty cool, but how many days does he have under his belt as a coach? Still, he's a legend.

The signing of Seaton is good for the Buffs, but it hardly makes a dent in their obviously deficient class, which only has 3 other 4* players to accompany the 5*.

Yes, Dion did well (again) in the TP, landing another six 4* players, and some 3*'s, but we saw the same thing last year when he brought in 51(!) transfers...

How'd they do again this year?

Well, nobody knows what the outcome will be for the Buffs in 2024, but I have a feeling the B12 doesn't need to be put on notice.  I could be completely wrong, but nothing thus far tells me that Dion & Co. have the coaching chops to put up a conference championship team.

Again, I could be completely wrong. We'll see.

I hope that young man (Seaton) doesn't regret his decision, even though I believe he was swooned by the "man", and sold on the "hype"... who knows.

Yes, we may end up seeing him in the TP very soon. It's just too bad he didn't make the (alleged) correct choice to begin with. 👉🏻🦆

    Oh well.

  2. Where are the comparative ranks? It's really hard to follow the logic of these rankings without seeing where other coaches are ranked. Especially when this staff has landed a top 10 class twice now.

These rankings just don't seem fair. I mean Ohio State, Michigan, PSU, sure. I could see those three teams out recruiting Oregon any given year. However that's hardly putting Oregon in the bottom of the Big ten.

How can our coaches be ranked 14th, 16th, or worse and still end up with the top 10 class?

Coach Lanning @ 63rd?? ... So this article expects me to believe that there are 62 coaches that are better at recruiting than Dan Lanning?? .... yeaaah... sure.

    Seems bogus.

  3. Oregon has been bouncing around the upper echelon of college football for the past 25 years. They are bound to win a national championship one of these days.

As long as the team & staff continue their upward trajectory, I would argue that it is only a matter of time.

And I agree with the consensus that Washington is a very good team, but a team which many breaks went their way this year. That is certainly one of the reasons why they are in the position they are in this year. Oregon could have easily been in the same spot. Sometimes the ball just bounces the wrong way.

I have the utmost confidence in the staff moving forward. Coach Lanning has shown his ability to recognize his own mistakes and to learn from them. He also seems to have a knack for identifying talent at positions of need. It's just too bad it's only year two.

If the staff can stay together for several years, I'm confident that this will be a championship team at some point. As mentioned before, especially if we keep landing top 10 and even top 5 recruiting classes.

    I gotta wear shades. 😎

    Go Ducks!!  🦆

  4. Have a look at Dillon Gabriel Highlights - 2023. He definitely reminds me of a Big Play VA or Masoli type. Elusive, pretty quick, and a pretty darn good arm on him.

There are a few concerns for me, though. For instance, the throws he makes into very tight coverage. Now, you could argue that he places the ball so perfectly, that only his receivers can get it. Or... you could say that he makes dangerous throws, to which he gets bailed out frequently by his outstanding receivers.

I haven't watched enough OU games this year, beyond the video above, to make the call.

But if DL and Co., plus the G.O.A.T approve, well I guess we'll just need to have faith.

It should be a pretty good month or two to watch things unfold with the TP and recruiting. One can only hope that the staff can put together something similar to this year's team.

    What more can we ask?

    Go Ducks! 🦆

  5. Goes to show how much of an impact Bo has had on Oregon, the (former) PAC12, and all of CFB, to be honest.

I have my doubts about the Heisman outcome, but I really hope Bo wins... he deserves it more than anyone.  (Imo)

Also, this made me miss "Tostitos"... a better sponsor name for the "Fiesta" bowl. (Again, Imo)

    VRBO? 🤮

  6. My work is based in the Seattle area, but I work out of a satellite office down in the Portland area. I was born and raised in Oregon, and as a Duck, so naturally my Washington colleagues know my allegiance as well.

From what I've gathered, most of them keep the rivalry very civilized, showing good sportsmanship, but also not afraid to give, or take a jab or two. Those are Dawg fans that I respect, and even like.

... but Lord knows there's a lot of butt sniffers up there that I don't.

It's great to hear about two rival fans being perfectly civilized, and mature about sports. I'm happy that the other fella made a comment about the younger fan, as I would probably do the same if roles had been reversed.

Sports are to be enjoyed. It's meant to substitute war, not actually create it. And now I have just a slight bit more respect for the other side.

However, I still hope they are all crying in their cornflakes come tomorrow morning. 😁🦆

    Great post!
