I know Mark Helfrich is a good guy but man is he tough to listen to as a color commentator!! I saw the Ducks vs. Them video from the Michigan game today! Man was that inspiring! I had no idea why the time out was called at the end of the game and the thumbs down thing. As I was watching, I was thinking, man that thumbs down thing is probably not so wise! Only to find out it was motivation from Gladiator...Brilliant!! I just don't see Mark having the vision to do things like this!! I feel like I have to turn the TV up just to hear his commentary! Obviously we all know that DL is the real deal and plans on being in Eugene for a long time! I have no inside info on Marks pre game speeches but if they are like his commentary, I'd probably take a nap!! DL obviously knows how to motivate and keep his players focused on the big picture as well as teaching them the value of being respectful young men. The players obviously appreciate his and his staffs leadership as well!!

Of the last three tds opponents have scored. One by an ill advised penalty that kept Illinois on the field, another by a short field! Three games, 27 points I believe plus the hurt they are putting on players...wow! I'm more confident in this d than any other time in duck memory!

Just tuned in for the second half of tosu. Mr. Predictable is at it again. Gawd their offense is doing everything to lose this game but Huskers can't capitalize. osu fans might be coming after him if they lose this game as they should.

Ducks at No. 9 in AP Poll, & No. 6 with Coaches Poll
candyduck replied to The Kamikaze Kid's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Polls are fan fodder this early in the season! All that matters is they are one of the 12 picked at the end.of the season. One win at a time is all that matters. I'm fearful they're going to be wins right now though! -
Oregon Fans Reappraise Expectations, or NOT?
candyduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I've looked at USC teams the last several years as the glamorous, flashy team that had preseason hype, rankings and 4 and 5* players all over. They could just show up and win without preparation and discipline. I saw that starting to happen with Slick Willie and Mario. I was excited to think DL was going to change that. The first two games look like this that needs to be figured out and really fast! The kid the Ducks were in the hunt for but eventually went to tOSU...JT Tuimalaou (sorry if I butchered his name), he's a beast and will dominate against the current o-line in autzen. Maybe get 4 sacks himself! On the positive side the DBS are playing better than anything I've seen in recent years! -
Why thank you sir! Didn't realize I was off by a couple years. Time flies when you're having fun! Glad you're smarter than me!!

Think he retired last year after 24(?) years though!

Exciting stuff!! I'm watching the Chaminade/Bosco game. See a kid with an O on the back of his helmet. I'm not seeing he's committed to the ducks (maybe I'm missing something) but it's fun to see regardless! Also, I' ve been curious...do the ducks have a new Harley guy? I sure hope so! I'm sure it's been brought up but I've been too busy to keep track of off season news! Sorry Charles and the rest of the team! Go ducks!!

My FishDuck Friends: Does SIZE Matter?

Exactly...I can certainly wait and save a few dollars. Enjoy the "grown up" conversations on here as well. -
My FishDuck Friends: Does SIZE Matter?

I appreciate having a site I can check in and out of and share a thought or two without paying. Sure I would like getting behind the scenes stuff from the other sites but it isn't important enough to pay for it. Besides that I too cheap to support the bigger sites! Keep up the great work! I certainly wouldn't want to take on the task y'all have. I'm sure there is a lot of behind the scenes stuff you deal with we will never know but appreciate your continued efforts to allow us to yap on occasion! -
Rumors of RB Coach Locklyn Being Hired Away by tOSU...
candyduck replied to Augduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Sounds like big boy football to me! Think this might become common in the new landscape of college football. Weaken opposing teams coaching staffs by plucking them away for your own good. This will tell whether Oregon is ready imo. I just hope the running backs room doesn't him! -
From Oregon: Gonzaga’s Ben Gregg is Fun To Watch
candyduck replied to candyduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Yes Gonzaga and SDSU are two teams I keep an eye on outside of the Ducks. I've always loved how they crash the boards and are fundamentally sound but still aggressive. SDSU is my hometown team dating back to Tony Gwynn and Micheal Cage days. I was just more interested to find out if anyone knew if Altman pursued Gregg out of high school or if he had more interest in Spokane and Gonzaga. I follow football recruiting more but don't remember Gregg's name popping up in any recruiting conversations. Bittles name was all over the place around that time. Would've loved to have seen both of them playing together in an Oregon uniform. -
I'll be honest, I don't pay attention to basketball as much any more outside of tournament time. I see Ben Gregg from Gonzaga played at Clackamas. Did Dana and the Ducks ever pursue him? I selfishly hope he enters the transfer portal and comes back home to play! Dang he has fun, handles the ball well, looks to have huge bball IQ, and shoots the ball REALLY WELL from anywhere! The whole portal thing drives me crazy. In this case I wouldn't have any problems with it.
