I Ducked

No depth in the playbook. Defense is lost. I love my Ducks, but I’ve seen this too many times over 40+ years. Tez hurt, James hurt. No chance. See y’all again in August.

The nuts are faster and much better prepared. Much more physical. Our offense is so. damn. predictable. They know what’s coming and are fully in position.

I wouldn’t say we escaped. But damn … good teams make their own luck. Great work, Ducks!

Not only is the Ducks D getting manhandled, but they’re confused as well. The ghosts of decades of Oregon’s vulnerabilities are still visible. They’re better than they’ve ever been, still not convinced it’s quite enough yet. Yet!

Ducks play better overall, but the Beavs don’t go quietly. Ducks win 35-21. 0 turnovers. 1 sack. 295 passing yards.

Gotta remind ourselves that it’s the first game with many new faces. Biggest growth happens starting tomorrow. Still, there are some good signs now. It’s a loooong season. They’ll clean it up.

Here’s the thing. Fuskies play to the level of their competition. Plus they’re healthy (receivers). Ducks have been playing great, but they’re still mistake prone. And little mistakes in this game will be deadly. We’re getting outplayed at the moment. Lines. Coaching. Damn it.

I love Lanning! But this was a coaching error loss. Take the chip shot field goals. Cam’s confidence would be higher with more made shots. Get late game first downs by not being so predictable with the run. The Ducks left money on the table.

I love Lanning. Love the direction of the progrum. But dammit ... take the points and don't get too conservative late. This was a coaching loss. Next up!!

Washington is more prepared for this game. I hate to admit it, but they are the better team ... at least this game. It's the Husky D that looks prepared and energized - we're out of sync and confused. Painful. We needed those 3 points at the end of the half.
