Of all the plays not to review, this up there with not reviewing our INT against tOSU. Why would such huge plays EVER not be reviewed?
For this play specifically, I thought there was definitely a chance the ball never hit the ground, and there certainly wasn't conclusive evidence that it did hit the ground. Call should stand either way.

Definitely feels like this to me, but I still agree with the sentiment of playing the same way for that first possession when we start the 3rd with the ball. OBD are all free-flowing in Q2, do that one more time and put it away. If the other team starts with the ball in Q3 and OBD gets the stop, then by all means proceed with strangling the clock.
PS - isn’t it great to be nit-picking after a 21 point win at the big house?

Danno is not doing this in the blind. He consulted with NFL coaches about how best to handle a 16 or 17-game season.

I’ve been to every original PAC10 stadium.
A few to mention:
WSU - horrible on every front. Imagine pre-redone Parker, only worse. Total dump.
OSU - was horrible, but in fairness I haven’t been since the re-do.
UCLA - as mentioned, iconic but terrible. I’m guessing it’s possible to have a good experience on the 50
USC - Coliseum was fun for me. Consistent theme throughout, it’s cool
UW - spectacular and one of a kind, but a LOT of horrible site-lines.
Northwest Wild Card - Kibbie Dome in Moscow ID. If you ever get a chance to go when they’re good and it’s full, go for it. That stadium is just a barrel, but man can it get loud when full.

Sorry to add to a days old post, but I saw something at a Beavis forums that’s may just cure you Charles!
In reference to the MWC adding GCU as a non-football member today.QuoteIs there anyone who doesn't seriously believe Gloria is A) bitter and B) just trying to match whatever strategy the Pac-12 is trying to do?
Offers people we might have interest in (Texas St, etc.)... tries to use our money against us...now appears to be trying to put together a basketball conference as well.
Good luck w/ UTEP. -

But there is a mindset that is stuck in that style of play.
Washington State saw they weren't winning any games so they went out and hired Mike Leach and his air raid offense. Sure he had runningbacks on his roster but they got just enough carries to be dangerous but more often they were just another pass catcher. Washington State under Leach weren't always good but they certainly had some good seasons and they were always interesting. They were also always good for stealing a game or two away from a top team in any given year.
How do you stop that kind of air raid offense? It's certainly possible and if given enough time to prepare very doable. Leach lost a lot of bowl games and some of them badly because his opposition could take weeks to prepare. Washington State also never won any conference championships or went to any major bowl games under Leach. In the end if given time any good team was going to beat him.
However, if you're a team struggling to get top recruits and you just want to be good and bowl eligible most years then adopting the air raid or other off-meta offense can certainly do that. Teams lost to Washington State because they couldn't adequately prepare in a week, and even if they did they were often in some dog fights of games.
The B1G meta (excluding the newbies) just doesn't have really any of these strange teams outside of Ohio State.
Becomes interesting, because most B1G are or have been stuck but refuse to be creative for whatever reason. Look at Indiana. Import a bunch of JMU skill players and a different philosophy and suddenly they’re world beaters in year 1.

I believe yes, for OBD.
As we well know from decades of personal experience, any team that can actually throw the ball with creativity has a punchers chance, no matter how questionable they may be up front. Most B1G are pretty well built up front and able to mash. But when the mash strategy is neutralized most of them flounder…been that way forever.

The Purdue stats are misleading imo.
Giving up 200 rushing would be alarming if it was against a balanced team that had the forward pass as part of their arsenal.
Purdue is not that. They are the quintessential caveman B1G team that couldn’t manage to get 100 yards passing for the game. 40 rushing attempts in a game you lose by 35 at home? That’s dysfunctional imo.
I’d take those stats every single time.

Hilarity!
In all the recent shenanigans which has resulted in me paying more attention to them than the last 10 years combined, one thing is becoming clear to me. They really think that OBD sit around coming up with strategies fixated on them.
In one anecdote I recently saw by one of their admins at one of their sites…dude was railing on how classless all “hole” fans are and described how much classier he is with one exception. If he sees a “hole” fan wearing #3, he will always whisper just loud enough for them to hear, “5 picks”
Zinger! Case closed, no coming back from that!
After googling that “zinger”, I did vaguely recall Joey was #3, and had 5 picks a quarter of a century ago in a Civil War game.
Keep clinging to memories Beavis, it’s over. -
They’ve no doubt had injuries, but I think that’s really one of the big points.
When you only have 5-6 really good players on the entire roster, as is the case with most of the G6, you have a good chance of doing okay against a P4 in September and bowl games when you’re healthy.
Different story in October.

Nope.
Them turning on the MWC with lawsuits when there was an easy solution right in front of them closed the door for me. The PIG-2 continues to live up to the name, burning bridges left and right so their accounting teams can pretend to be low-end P4’s for two years.
I’m rooting for the MWC all the way moving forward.

To me the, the picked up flag was egregious. That was plain as day and there was a reason they threw the flag to begin with.
The rest are explainable, garden variety missed calls. I don’t think anyone is out to get us, you’ll see the same complaints at any team site about how Oregon got all the calls.

Finebaum: "Vanderbilt Could Beat a Lot of B1G Teams"
in Our Beloved Ducks
So he’s saying the #6 team from the SEC could beat a lot of teams from an 18 team conference?
BOLD prediction there chief.
