For sure. They really don’t have to anything offer with the PAC banner other than an attempt to assert themselves as “in charge” to anyone that might consider joining. They really are giving off a vibe of it being “their” conference.
Why would anyone want to join?
In turn, specifically with the MWC, how could this not rub them the wrong way if the PIG2 eventually “lower” themselves to joining the MWC? What do they really bring to the table?
I think for the piggies, it’s BIG12 or bust at this point in time as the ACC is not going to be adding anyone anytime soon…subject to change if the PIG2 finally realize they should have joined the MWC immediately.

Check your mobile phone provider. I have T-Mobile's home wifi and in their 5G UC network coverage area, so I average around 300mbps typically. Not gigabit speeds but more than enough for my household and only $50/month.
Great if it works and that’s a good deal, I need the bigger bandwidth though. Xfinity still has a choke hold on my part of town for 1000+

I’m in the same boat as you, but have been unable to free myself from the yoke of Xfinity as my ISP. I try about every 4 months and still can’t find a viable substitute, even in PDX.
I had Google Fiber for 3 years when I lived in Raleigh, NC…it was fantastic and half the price, highly recommended if available in your area.

If he cannot beat out a RS Freshman at Tulane....how was he going to lead the Oregon offense?
It was not popular, but the Oregon coaches made the right call by bringing in Dillon Gabriel....right?
Was it unpopular? It may well have been and I didn’t realize it. I definitely remember Nix being unpopular initially, but I for one had definitely seen enough of the deer in headlights, robo-mechanics of Thompson to not be surprised.

Good food for thought.
I'm solidly with JJ here. League play and the playoff itself are challenging enough, choose the path of least resistance with what you can control. This is compounded to an even greater degree with the SEC only playing 8 conference games while the B1G plays 9.
Success in the playoff provides more benefit than any random big-time OOC matchup. In the end, no one will be impressed if Michigan misses the playoff because of a regular season loss to Texas...they'll just remember they went 9-3 and played in the Cheez-It Bowl.

I have never watched Dillon Gabriel for an entire game. Really interested to see his style of play.
I expect the Ducks will establish the run early, and once they have done that, then DG can do his thing. If he is Heisman worthy, then the Ducks should score a lot of points.
Idaho is overmatched, and it will be an opportunity to get some tape of younger players that our coaches can review.
Just search for his game against a lil team called Texas last year.

I worked at the UI for 10 years not too long ago, know a lot of people in Moscow. Yes, I had season tickets in the Kibbie Dome…was brutal. I was a huge advocate for them moving to FCS.
They’re breaking in a new QB, so will be interesting to see if they use as many offensive shifts as they did last year. Welcome to being the starter Idaho QB!
BSU is probably going to be better than Beavis. We could technically survive a loss (depending on the nature of the loss) to them and still make the playoff, not that I think that’s going to happen. A narrow miracle loss to a 13-0 BSU in September would not kill us and might actually improve our strength of schedule if we ended up going 10-2. But I certainly hope the players don’t overlook them, really don’t like them after my time at UI.
One thing that cracks me up is us fans telling each other not to overlook a game, we can look ahead as much as we like, we aren’t, uh, on the field. 😉

LOL. Sounds like watch a soccer match (aka football).
If college football wants to bring in fans from other nations, they should have sent better or more entertaining teams…
I think it’s more of a tourism ad than converting the Irish to American football. My brother and I looked at flights to Dublin yesterday, coincidence?
I thought that was a fun game, and I don’t think FSU is making the playoff. Line play is questionable and they can’t throw down field, very bad combo. My other takeaway is DJ is not up to snuff, yet he was the starter for Beavis last year. Their apparent starter this year was 3rd string (at best) behind DJ and a kid out of HS and has probably already reached his ceiling.
Can’t wait to see the Beavis offense.

Beavis doesn't have anything that anybody covets. People only bring them and Washington State up because they've been a member of the second oldest and once second most prestigious leagues in the country. But 108 years of being at the bottom doesn't really carry much weight.
For some reason this concept escapes the media when they ask why the Big 12 doesn't want them. They think that they are the ultimate victims of this conference cannibalism.
Exactly! They’ve both won the sympathy cup in the media, but when the rubber hits the road it’s a big nope.
They should be careful about getting too cutesy with the MWC. It was one thing when they could theoretically offer the P12 banner and the potential of instant P5 status for anyone that joined, without that, what exactly are they bringing to the table that’s any better than what they already have in the MWC? I wouldn’t be paying any large fees to leave the MWC for what the PIG2 will be offering.

I personally don’t think they’ll make the cut. They aren’t suddenly more appealing to the B12 with the passage of time. B12 currently at 16, UCONN would be 17 and it makes a lot of sense adding that basketball juggernaut asap. I’m guessing they stand pat after that to see what the ACC does.
Beavis’ reality is going to be what many of us have thought for a year. Joining the MWC…if they’re still wanted.

Everyone is still undefeated!
With Beavis, that’s just to not be eliminated from consideration, they’d still need a ton of help if they managed 11-1. Them choosing the independent route is a huge mistake IMO. 11-1 and then winning the MWC championship game would have about made them a shoe in. Those stolen funds are nice for two years, I guess, but they should have been doing everything they could to increase their odds of making the playoff right now, having no league affiliation is not that route.
Not that it matters, 8-4 at best.

Before they were banned the guys in the seats behind me had both Duck lips and regular Duck calls on lanyards around their necks, and used them the whole game.
Stomp, yell, and have fun at the games, but if we are ahead by 30 points, put the kazoo down for awhile.
Not to yell at the clouds but I completely agree. I put the lips in the same category as the chainsaw racket.

If most QBs didn’t bust in the NFL every roster would have quality QBs 3 deep, but alas, about half don’t even have a very good starter…just look at who the Raiders are starting when they could have drafted Bo 😩
I think Marcus was the perfect fit for the perfect scheme at the perfect time in college, was fun to watch him from the moment he stepped up in that spring game all the way to pantsing FSU in the Rose.

Hopefully, SOS will matter in 2024. Boise plays Oregon, Oregon State, and Wazzu which will help its SOS. Memphis plays at Florida State. Tulane plays K State and at Oklahoma back-to-back. Liberty for the second season in a row plays no P4 opponent.
A lot of 'interesting stuff' would have to happen for the G5 representative to be seeded higher than 12th.
True, was thinking more about a BSU or Memphis. B12 could easily end up with only 1 or 2 ranked teams, time will tell. The larger point really is that no conference is guaranteed anything, and I think most people believe the P4 are locked into the top 4 seeds.
This is also more Beavis foolishness. They can’t be a conference champion. If they’re as good as they think, they should have joined the MWC immediately, gone 12-1, made the playoff, then demanded entry into the SEC. Being the weasels they are, the truth is they thought they had a shot at the PAC keeping its auto-birth with 2 members.

A common misconception is that any conference has a direct tie to a top-4 seeding. The only guarantee is - “The five highest-ranked conference champions and the next seven highest-ranked teams will earn a spot in the 12-team bracket. There is no limit to how many teams from one conference can qualify. The rules also don't guarantee spots for certain conferences”
it is widely assumed that the P4 will have the highest rated champions because, well let’s face it, that part of the system could be pretty rigged.
That being said, the B12 could be a poster child of unintended consequences if it’s a meat grinder this year with no clear brand name. What happens if the second place team from the B12 is 8-4 and wins their conference title game to finish 9-4? Now imagine the MWC and CUSA champs are both 12-1 or better…what happens? Is the B12 team with 4 losses really going to be ranked higher?

Really is the exception now (3 years at least) unless a guy is good enough to start as a frosh. If a guy is good enough to start for OBD for 2 years he’s probably gone unless he isn’t yet NFL eligible.

Texas forced everyone in the Big 12 to accept the Longhorn Network which caused Nebraska, Colorado, Texas A&M, and Missouri to look for new homes. If there is any program that has done less with more than Texas, I can't name them.
USC was the lynchpin of the PAC. But I think most of the failure falls upon the "leadership" of Larry Scott. Ole George became the steward of a decrepit boat, he helped poke a few holes to finish it. But to me Larry Scott and the school presidents that looked down at Oklahoma because of their academics or capacity locale deserve much of the blame.
The B1G and SEC have thrived because they don't allow anybody to be bigger than the conference. South Carolina doesn't have less say than Florida or Georgia. Iowa doesn't get less consideration than Michigan or Ohio State.
The B1G Network was launched in 2007. From day one it was better than the Longhorn Network or PAC 12 Network. One reason was because you could find it on just about any cable or satellite plan. Two is because it wasn't the Buckeye or Wolverine Network.
Texas and USC failed their respective conferences in different ways. One was the ultimate power player that cared only about them self. The other was the grumbling "hero" who allowed the coach to mismanage the roster by allowing everybody to have a say, even when it was detrimental to the team. Then they just abandoned the team for a better ran one in the middle of the night. Essentially ensuring it's demise.
Note that I said more blame, not all blame. The conference was managed by bozos and they should get most of the blame, no doubt.
I agree with most of what you said, but I wasnt really considering Texas or thinking of the B12, which is still considered a power conference and legitimately exists.
My main point was that USC frequently blamed the conference for their lack of on-field success, but never delivered as the only historical blue-blood. Perception of the conference would have been vastly different if USC regularly contended for and actually participated in the playoff.

No doubt, good thing I’m not a player!
I think Wisconsin is going to struggle this year. They brought in an air raid guy they still aren’t designed for, and a questionable transfer QB that couldn’t cut it in the ACC. They’re in conflict with their nature, big mistake IMO.
