Mic drop! Great piece

Oregon cheerleaders can be both distracting and motivating.
True story case in point. when I first arrived on campus I was driving my civic hatchback west on 18th and the cheerleaders were having a car wash on the corner at Hilyard. I ran the red light and was T Boned by an old couple in an Oldsmobile. And get this: the adjuster said it was MY fault!

Thanks Dazed, all we have now is a high floor on Butters, a high ceiling on Ty and the rug pulled out from underneath us on Nix! I thought we had a nice little wall to wall carpet with Nix, with everything covered! Now I have to think he may not even be an area rug extending out from the bed I was sleeping so comfortably on as I dreamed of the season to come.
It actually sounds like he may just be a little runner carpet which may take us to the next room with the high floor, and or high ceiling. We definitely don't have the nice wool carpet that will last a long time, and make us all feel good like we were hoping.
The analysis you did was pretty impressive, once again. That type of writing is why it is always enjoyable to wake up and ponder what has been written by the Fishduck staff.
Sometimes that pondering wakes me up from some rosy dreams, which it is probably good. I need to realize the season I am pondering now may just be a fantasy best understood before we walk into it, expecting something which just isn't there. No carpet, not even some soft padding to help us at qb, just a cold hard floor, and we have no idea where it will take us.
Love me a good rug metaphor!

Portugal.
The Portuguese Golden Visa is a sweet deal. Buy property for $300k and get permanent citizenship for self and family plus EU passport with no need to live there.

You know you’ve made it when you can in a different every day of the week.

Yes but he’ll be wearing no 39 for the Eagles? How can someone that fast wear 39!!?!

My first thought is we haven’t been assessing, recruiting and/or developing speed like we thought we were.

Don't see that happening. Interesting jury per Canzano.
I do think it’s a possibility if it goes to verdict. don’t think it was necessarily an atypical D1 football workout. If one guy had gotten rhabdo he wouldn’t have a case. Here three-Poutasi, Brenner and Cam McCormick- got it out of around 100. The defense will have a team of experts to say this was a typical workout administered by top coaches and trainers and that some percentage of injuries are expected and unavoidable. Sounds like the “interesting” jurors were stricken. Lane county jurors are nowhere near as generous as multnomah.
on the other hand the judge allowed them to add punitive damages, which would’ve required a threshold showing of reckless indifference to the players’ health. My guess is that gives the plaintiffs the leverage they need to reach a settlement. The settlement amount should be available as a public record so good ol Canzano will keep us informed I’m sure.

As usual, we know some of the winners in this suit ..... regardless of the outcome, the attorneys are looking at at least 6 figure incomes.
The plaintiffs’ attorneys have this on contingency and have likely advanced substantial amounts for experts and other costs. A defense verdict will leave them in the red. The team of defense attorneys .. different story.

I’ve got two kids at UNC. My wife went there, as did her mom, as did her grandfather Chuck Erickson, who played tailback and then golf coach and AD, hiring Dean Smith and getting inducted into UNC HOF. In summary…GO HEELS!

I’ve got DAT running a 4.37 and Devon at 4.41. Who ya got?

I think he’s seeing the GA-UO talent gap and preparing everyone for the time and effort it’ll take to bridge it. We do have some dudes, but others we thought were dudes were not/are not as dudely as perceived. We have guys running 4.6’s while GA’s guys are running 4.4’s.

Yes the Ducks are working feverishly to compete with an SC team firing on all cylinders. But “not so fast” on the conclusion that SC is running on all cylinders just bc of its HC hire. There are other cylinders that are misfiring and in need of a tuneup and possibly an overhaul.
Let’s see how the test drive goes this fall.

Roll on you Bears! (Class of 90)

Looks sub 11 to me. Reminds me of Xavier Worthy a year or two back, speedster who flew up the ratings boards late and finally signed with Texas.
Andrew Paul’s tape is super impressive too. Solid measurables and huge productivity. Really makes me question the ratings services.
-
Next man up. We are good with the guys we have.
Has anyone watched the tape of Andrew Paul, the TX RB we just offered? Three star rating is a complete whiff. 2600+ rushing yards and 41 TDs last year, 5’11” 220 lbs w shake and breakaway speed.

Thanks Charles for stepping up and writing this letter to Coach Dan and Coach Kenny. Our second half vs OK showed what our guys are capable of when the lid is taken off the offensive scheme. FSU under Dillingham was run-first but definitely took shots downfield. I think he and Coach Dan will appreciate your concerns.

Constantly optimistic, as per usual.

Next man up. I think we’ll see a more dynamic punt returner in 7M. In all honesty his replacements at WR have higher ceilings.

Ah!!!! I didn't take a look at that... Let me see.....
Just inside the numbers to about 2 yards inside the numbers on a pro field. a2 + b2 = c2
552 + 202 = c23025 + 400 = c2
58.52 = c
So, yeah, he threw it about 60 yards. Good catch.
You found the exponent key! My attempt to write out the Pythagorean theorem was less than clear

34-17 Ducks
2 turnovers
2 sacks
180 pass yards

DeRuyter faced WSU three times as Cal’s DC and yielded 3 points in 2017, his first year as Cal’s DC; 19 in 2018; and 20 in 2019, for an average of 14 points. Versatile, athletic linebackers are key to stopping the air raid, and I think we have that. I think Noah Sewell gets his hands on some balls. Ducks 34-17.
