  1. Alex. Coach Altman is a masterful coach. I have wondered before, and certainly do this season, about how the Ducks can effectively rebound when spread so far from the rim? During many shots, particularly 3's, there is no one or only one Duck inside near the rim. The opponent has easy inside advantage for rebounding.

Please explain to me what I'm missing and how offensive rebounding should work in Altman's offense?

As a second question, with the coming lineup of big men, how do you expect the offense to change next year and after?

    Thanks.

This year’s squad is so interesting to watch. Talent. Quickness. Springs. Defensive grit at times. But it seems so difficult for them to play a complete game and click on all cylinders. I keep expecting more fast break points, more trapping takeaways and better shooting. When will these guys master the offense? Every game I imagine “this will be the night”.

Will this be “the night”? Go Ducks!

  3. We are fortunate to get Yates. It doesn’t matter what I think, but if DeRuyter and Cristobal wanted Yates, that’s enough endorsement for me. Yates has had good jobs and been in solid coaching trees with success. Now, on to the promised land as a Duck.

  4. Interesting views on TS. the staff and Oregon Football. Opinions, theories, hypotheses and SWAGS.

Damage? Will there be any damage at all to total wins for 2021? Or, will there be more nefarious damage to the underpinnings of Ducks football.

I expect, given a spring and full season, that the show goes on with a new conductor, or several of them taking the helm.

I'm donning my lemon and lime sunglasses.

  5. This Ducks team has plus quickness and the players are physically strong. They fall short on continuity and play in fits and starts. It's a Covid year with so many challenges, but this group does not play like an Altman team in February. They don't run the offense well with consistency. The team is fun to watch. but watching is painful too. Unfortunately the post season will be short, if at all, unless something changes soon. Go Ducks.

  6. The Ducks are more talent laden than anytime in UO football history. Credit goes to Mario's leadership and the hard work and system of the staff. Kudos to them all.

Now for getting the best players on the field, using them in the ways that complement their skills, and getting the team to work together attacking the competition. Kicking was an issue, but seems to be coming around. Special teams have come up woefully short and needs to be fixed.

The way I see it, we have the strongest most experienced OC and DC that the Ducks have had under Cristobal. The coaches need time working together, with the team and in game situations to become their best. Coach Cristobal now has time in the PAC and at Oregon under his belt. It's time for the coaching to have a breakout season and elevate to higher IQ and execution.

    Go Ducks in 2021!

  7. This will be one of many great storylines of the 2021 football season. Among:

    - Year 2 of Moorhead's offense

    - QB competition

    - A stacked OL

    - A stacked RB stable

    - WR and TE of many types and great talent

    - A more competitive defensive backfield with more speed and harder hitters

    - The best edge rushers

    - We covered the LB's at the start.

No excuses now but the future looks even brighter.

  8. Clemson just raised OC Tony Elliott's salary to $2M plus. The Tiger's DC Brent Venables was already earning $2M plus. Clemson now has two of three highest paid Coordinators in college football.

Coach Elliott is entering his 13th year and has turned down SEC and ACC HC opportunities, and stayed with Clemson.

Coaches Moorhead and DeRueyter are outstanding. With Cristobal they become a 3-headed monster given a few years to gel.

    Just saying.......

  9. Johnny Rodgers from Wiki: In his three years with the Cornhuskers, the versatile Rodgers established an all-purpose NCAA yardage record of 5,586.

We can only hope for and dream of such a productive career for Seven.

I remember in 1971 laying laying on a cot in Vietnam, listening on Armed Forces radio as Rodgers lit it up for the Huskers. His performance was extraordinary, and even exciting.

"In 1971, in what has become known as college football's "Game of the Century," Rodgers returned a punt 72 yards to score the first touchdown which set the tone for his team's 35–31 victory over the University of Oklahoma. ESPN describes Rodgers' performance as "unforgettable." However, some observers consider his greatest single performance to be in the 1973 Orange Bowl when he led his team to a 40–6 victory over Notre Dame. Rodgers ran for three touchdowns, caught a 50-yard pass for another touchdown, and threw a 54-yard touchdown pass to a teammate. He did all this before leaving the game with 21 minutes still to play."
