  1. It almost feels like they are spacing these announcements out? So that each player has a day to be in the glow of a wonderful announcement?
  2. More coming later to savor… You may raise an eyebrow at my "wording" in the title, but for those who have followed my umpteen posts, and over 600 articles I've written on FishDuck over the last dozen years--the "B" word is routine and reserved for Washington. It is the one bad word allowed here and not caught by the profanity-software, and is permitted for use by everyone in context to Washington. I never use it for other teams because...1) no others generate the antipathy from me that Washington fans do, and 2) Oregon State has fallen so far in my view that they are not even worthy of denigration that comes from respect. The Game! With the small lineup due to injuries, the Ducks are surviving and flourishing, but not dominating at all. We are 10th in the conference in rebounding, but we are No. 1 in the conference for turnover differential, which means this group is taking care of the ball well, and creating turnovers at a high rate. Oregon is No. 2 in the conference for steals, and you see a ton of Ducks poking the ball out to other teammates, of which starts a fast-break. We used to own Hec Edmondson when Payton was here....can Jackson Shelstad revive that?
  3. No sweat, I got your back. No. 1...amen Duck-Brother, as it will be nice to have an uneventful off-season. It makes for less conversation here, but we also won't have people going bonkers. Glad you pointed out another very positive development from Dan Lanning. No. 2...it sure is nice to have new members like you jumping in and contributing as you have. OBD members...if you joined in the last three months? Dive in, as this Duck Pond is safe and you do not need any expertise; just give us your thoughts, and that's it! No. 3...We have a number of new members that have been fun to read, and I invite all the newbies to get started, and keep going!
  4. An assistant lost, but the leader, Wilson Love, is still with us and that is big.
  5. Troy Franklin | DuckSportsAuthority N.RIVALS.COM Troy Franklin - 4 Star Wide receiver for Oregon on DuckSportsAuthority
  6. Make all NIL contracts to require post-season participation.
  7. If we'd had a 12 team playoff this year...I cannot help but wonder how many of these teams Oregon would have beat.
  8. It does make you wonder...how good would Herbert have been with this offense, these players, and these coaches? Plug in Dan Fouts? Whew!
  9. George....how were you going to improve on 22 million--that had contingencies? Even 30 million being rejected is nowhere close to what Oregon will get with 49 million a year averaged over 10 years, minus the 3.5 million average per year exit fee from the Pac-12. (Oregon State's ransom) We get 23.5 million a year MORE for leaving, and you could not even match that difference with your entire offer? Let me guess...it is the FANS fault, right?
  10. Interesting point to ponder....what if Justin Herbert played at QB at Oregon this year? Whew!
  11. To expand on the priority to get taller, longer corners...
  12. This was from two days ago; they do not actually have an "Oregon" site, but they write about Oregon quite a bit during football season. I receive emails that show me the articles written.
  13. Sure, but they are going to epitomize the college football version of "putting lipstick on a pig," as they take two teams rejected by all the power conferences, and combine them with some Mountain West teams and pretend it is anything but another Mountain West conference?
  14. This is from Chuc007, who mis-posted, but wanted to add to this discussion. Great analysis ! it is hard to disagree. You mention Mel Renfro (Not Renfrow). Mel was like a freight train with dancing wheels. I know, I held a bag as a freshman sacrificial lamb when he came around the corner he left my jock on the field or he went through me like a hot knife through butter. He was better than Reggie Bush but not Orenthal James aka The Knife. He never really got a chance as a running back at Dallas. He was too valuable at the second toughest position in pro football, cornerback.
  15. My friend, you are going to have some great competition from the new B1G over the years.
  16. I have been to a ton of them, and you have to trust me that the expression is true… “They hate Oregon more than they love Oregon State.”
  17. What stunned me from Washington as well were seeing designed quarterback runs! And Penix ran pretty fast, got good yardage and has no indication of the prior injuries. This is a BIG element in this game, as a running quarterback (on occasion) can really stress a defense. As fragile as Penix is? I was stunned to see it, thus they must have pretty good confidence in his health, and judgment to run downfield and at the right moment---make like an Oregon fan and... Duck!
  18. A recent article about incoming corners is that all are six foot and above--mostly above. Martin is 5'10"...and Lanning wants length with his DBs, as now we have a 6'4" corner coming in and a 6'5" safety?
  19. From another thread... Keep in mind that the 85 scholarship number is when fall camp begins, and we will have more leave after Spring Football...whoever is at the bottom of the depth chart of each position, and is not a freshman. We have two other fast-twitch corners from last year in Daylen Austin, and Rodrick Pleasant, along with two really incredible corners brought in this year. One is the No. 1 JC of the year, and the other (Dakoda Fields) we stole from USC, which made them very butt-hurt. Oh yeah...we have Jahlil Florence returning too. They are inexperienced, but one of the most talented corner rooms ever at Oregon! And he is 6'4" at corner?
