The play right after that picture was taken that Charles posted... Flowe was completely out of alignment and he did show off his athleticism and chased the quarterback downs dn out of bounds but not before de Laura picked up the needed yards.
Vinnie Vincent on guitar also comes to mind..... incredble technique... incredilbe speed.... always out of key and always way off of timing...

I agree with the sentiment that Mario couldn't develop talent.... not evaluate... he clearly got talented recruits to Oregon during his tenure. Develop thought? I mean... he had Justin Herbert and played him down a few levels... clearly....

Rating services are serve to make money and hype, not that a 5 star "isn't good".
Also, rating kids at 15/16 in North American pro sports is not a guarantee of anything but how good the kid is at the time. Lots of kids hit their ceiling at 15/16 and don't grow. They you get 2 stars that barely shave that mature at 20/21 and end up Van Der Eche or Josh Allen (if he had early talent, he would have been at one of the big 4 or 5).
I would rather be a 2 star with a high ceiling and a chip on my shoulder.

Nice article Dazed. I was thinking the same things, all the way up here and to the east.
I suppose as time goes on we should see coaching and game specific scheme improvements? I mean, even Helfrich did such things for certain games!
Is this why a boat load of defensive dudes are gone?

Dare I say.... Jacobs highlights at Iowa look better than the 5 star that is leaving? Awesome pick up.
Also, though it is an hiliarious over-write to suggest that an Alabama WR transfer shocks the internet, it is weird as they usually straight to the NFL and not to the West Coast. Huge pick up. Literally!

2 of those 3 ranked losses, as we all know, should have been wins. This team was on the cusp of a Pac12 title and a playoff birth. If "up" is the trajectory for Dan Lanning, then this is good.
Take care of the baby blue Tarheels and 10 wins looks pretty good.
So, for now... "Wolverines!"

Good point Charles.
Flowe is the one that probably frustrates most of us, imho. He was probably primed to step into Sewell's NFL vacated spot. But then again, maybe Lanning et al know something we don't. His 2 years of lost development truly hurts him. Maybe he can find his way somewhere else (The U of Colorado Neon Slick Willies perhaps).

What also sucks about the W game, is the RBs were running well for most of the game. So why bother with the silly play call?
Also, the 4th and 1 call to go for it with Ty in.... just put Bo in for 1 play if that's the case and ice the game...
Me thinks Danny L was guilty of "Cristoballin" in this game, as well as the Utah game. Over thinking. Too cute.

I see how running Nix was working here and there in the game. But, while driving from the.1 yard line with your RBs making 5 yards a carry, maybe... just maybe... you stick with what is working Coach.

It's all over the UCLA tape. Unreal pull and downfield blocking for those 5/6 and 7/8 hole runs.... it's impressive. Also, the speed with which he moves..... it's like Sasquatch coming at you full tilt!!!!

When you watch the tape, the Ducks moved the ball well. The O-line had some fantastic blocks and large holes. I think Georgia still wins, but the D plays better and the O scores.

I simply live across the border from Michigan and have cheered for them since the mid 80s.
My guess is you forgot which potential game I was referring too. Haha....
Thanks for the DSM laughs, but the only "Beaver" I cheer for are the Canadian ones that you tip while leaning back over the stage edge....
