  1. Why limit it to the qb, the guys offense is offensive.

I will never forgive him for promising everything we ever dreamed of and giving us meh. I say that because Oregon is offense, and to be bored of our offense was beyond disappointing.

He crushed RB's, TE's, WR's and QB's. The guy is to offense what Roberto Goizueta was to coke. The difference, Roberto, new when he had made a mistake.

  2. I think it is Harbaugh is gone, what now. I hope the move is best for Justin Herbert, and could care less about Michigan.

The real winner may be Day, he might win another game against Michigan and save his job.

I am just sincerely glad we don't have to go through all of this. We have solid coaches for our Basketball and Football programs. Go Ducks Basketball!

  3. I think the point on Fisch being suspect is a good one. He had one winning season and turned that into 7 year $54 million dollar contract. Fisch could be on a beach in a couple years getting paid bank to not coach.

The last guy I can remember doing something like that was Mel Tucker at Michigan State. That didn't end well, not just talking about his firing, and Fisch could be in for the same kind of reality check.

One winning season and a suspect ability to recruit and you're headed to the BIG, good luck.

  4. We can be grateful, and critical at the same time. I just lean toward the grateful side, and think we are in a unique moment in time.

I also know when we take a moment when we are upset, and ask questions rather than attack we don't always regret what we initially want to do. I do agree pointed questions, and spirited analysis only makes us sharper, and more knowledgeable.

We should all try and step back and be Columbo, if anyone remembers this character, rather than the many pundits and popular figures we see now spouting off. All I am saying, by the way, I love how Columbo rolled!

  5. We will turn on Lanning if he doesn't live up to what we believe he is. He is building himself up to a pretty lofty place, so it will happen. It already happened with some of his calls. So many have claimed he is brilliant beyond compare, and that was questioned. Even his less than immediate repudiation of Alabama made some question his unwavering commitment.

Lanning will turn on us if we don't live up to what we have made ourselves out to be. We have built a pretty amazing program, and continue to support our athletic programs like few universities. Lanning hasn't turned on us in any shape or form! We are fortunate, we have a loyal guy who wants what we have created, who we are.

This thing we have with the football program isn't like marriage, for better or worse, and I hope HappytobeaDuck was able to rally after his epic mistake! What we have is a lucky situation.

Let me define luck, as many might mistake this as I am referencing dumb luck. We are lucky because we are in the right situation, at the right time. The right situation was created by a lot of effort. The Oregon fanbase we are part of built a winning program, Phil Knight came in supported even more winning with expert guidance unlike any program in the nation.

The right time is what we are living in right now. We have the support, and this coach, and we the fanbase are alive and healthy enough to enjoy it. What I am saying is we need to truly enjoy this moment in time. We have a coach who is extremely talented and gives us a chance to win it all. We need to be cognizant that this is the dumb luck part and relish it.

From my experience dumb luck is often ruined, while the luck you receive by much effort grows. Let's keep putting effort into supporting our Ducks, and Dan Lanning who is Oregon Football. Let's question things which don't add up, but in a respectful way. Understand, like HTBEADuck, mistakes can be made. We truly have something special, and lets more than embrace it, lets nurture it so we can better enjoy what is to come in the next few years.

  6. Seems like there are two answer to this question based on history.

Either somebody who is going to begin another round of 12 losses to the Ducks, or lead the dawgs to another run at the title only to come up short and then leave.

My bet another series of coaches who will lose another 12 straight to the Ducks.

  7. Wow, we needed this guy with the graduations. I could see Lanning going after another transfer at this position. Maybe a senior transfer as our young guys grow into the position.

We definitely need some BIG beef up front as move to our new conference. A weakness here will be taken advantage of by our opponents next season.

Come the April transfer window I would expect Oregon to be aggressive if we see anybody trying to get more limelight, and better coaching. This is where Tosh is earning his money, and I expect another BIG guy before this is all over.

  8. At this point I would imagine the money for a winning coach willing to sign on to one of these teams has to be crazy time numbers.

I almost wonder if Helfrich is getting calls. I bet Petersen is getting huge offers. Urban Meyer has to be getting pulled by the money out there.

When all the dust settles it will be interesting to see who is sitting in which position. The good news are seat is nice and warm, only because our guy hasn't left it! While the dawg seat, may be empty soon!

  9. Anyone else finds this highly entertaining. A delayed announcement, the dawgs maybe losing another coach who was going to bring their program the first mens NCAA title.

I must say getting another 5* transfer is nice, but DeBoer leaving the dawgs would be priceless.

  10. Interesting he has brought in a guy who has some issues. I like the fact that Lanning has taken on a challenge. This is something Chip did and managed pretty well.

I do think this is something we haven't really seen Lanning deal with completely. Although he did show a quick trigger with Holden, maybe that will be his method.

I still look for a big experienced DT to come to Oregon. Maybe one of Alabama's DT's will transfer out this spring. Our offense is lights out talented, our defense could still use some big experience.

  11. So funny to read what Alabama wants, an established coach so they can keep winning. The stage is already set for the next coach to be fired. We hired you because we thought you would be the next Saban, that is the recipe for disaster.

They would be smart to hire a coach who wants to be there, and support him to no end. Maybe a coach who has failed a little in the past, this job would make him better. Look at innovative assistants they can have a chance to become a great coach. No program is going to do that, just Oregon!

  12. It is interesting DeBoer hasn't signed that extension as the playoffs are over. It was rumored recruiting was taking too much time, but that can't be an excuse.

I would imagine there are some pretty nervous dawgs up north until the extension is signed.

  13. Dominos are starting to fall, and there is going to be lots of movement.

I would be shocked if Harbaugh is back at Michigan. He is a competitive guy and doesn't have that Super Bowl Ring like his brother.

The domino for us is a speedy receiver goes to the Ducks!

DeBoer isn't a recruiter and I would imagine sees the NFL as enticing, but he would be a big risk at the NFL level. The NFL loves upside and he has lots so I bet he is pursued.

The domino for us is the dawgs lose another good coach too soon, win, win!
