  1. For your reading pleasure: Duck Tape: Film Study Compilation of Oregon’s 2022 Football Staff WWW.ADDICTEDTOQUACK.COM The complete collection of ATQ film reviews of the Ducks’ new position coaches
  2. Thought these articles had great analysis. I realize they're about a month old, so hoping this hasn't already been shared: "Film Study of OC Kenny Dillingham: Playbook Design" - Part 1 Duck Tape: Film Study of OC Kenny Dillingham, Part 1: Playbook Design WWW.ADDICTEDTOQUACK.COM A review of three seasons as OC under Mike Norvell at Memphis and Florida State "Film Study of OC Kenny Dillingham: Quarterback Coaching" - Part 2 Duck Tape: Film Study of OC Kenny Dillingham, Part 2: Quarterback Coaching WWW.ADDICTEDTOQUACK.COM A review of the last six years as QB coach, including Bo Nix’s SEC Rookie of the Year season
  3. Have always been a big fan. Nice to see him get to play football again. Philadelphia Eagles sign Olympic hurdler and former Oregon Ducks WR Devon Allen to 3-year deal WWW.ESPN.COM The Philadelphia Eagles signed Olympic hurdler Devon Allen, a former receiver with the Oregon Ducks, to a three-year deal, the team announced Friday.
  4. I like seeing these things happen with a program. Build unity; play for each other:
  5. I watched every game I could that year. Was awesome to follow. The thing that stands out most was Jamie Moyer, the guy who's fastest ball traveled between 85-88 mph somehow dominated that year. Then the freakin' Yankees ruined it all.
  6. It's rare for me to find anyone who dislikes BOTH Walton and Vitale, but I'm with you 100%. Vitale may be iconic to NCAA BB, but it's torture listening to him.
  7. Not a fan! I don’t like announcers that put the spotlight on themselves more than the game and players. I like commentary that gives us the “what”, the “why”, the “how”, and strategies/plays that might come next. Gold Standard (IMO): Tony Romo I watch next to no college basketball anymore, but when I did watch more regularly in the past, I remember not being offended/annoyed by Jay Bilas.
  8. Given all the recent discussion, I'll go with: Oregon vs. USC - October 31, 2009 I attended college at BYU, so needless to say, I was not surrounded by a bunch of Duck fans; none among my roommates. My roommates were all out at Halloween parties while I partied alone screaming at the TV and shaking our condo while jumping up and down screaming and cheering . . . All while ignoring Trick-or-Treaters who knew someone was home, haha, poor kids. Link to Highlights: Part 1 Part 2
  9. Some thoughts and observations: - Look at all the RED for Cristobal. While recruiting the most/best talent to UO we've ever seen, he managed to underperform his predecessors' offensive production. - I know we don't speak highly of Willie T, but his offense in 2017 (a year when Herbert missed 5 games) managed to match or outperform every one of Cristobal's. - Man!! If only Helfrich could have figured out the recruiting/leadership/defense side of things, because, WOW! he could coach an offense. There's a lot of GREEN in his years, left to right. Perhaps benefited most from Mariota? - One more Helfrich shoutout: The offense from the year that got him fired was better than any under Cristobal. - So much GREEN in the Kelly/Helfrich years. Hoping the future is bright "GREEN" with Lanning & Co.
  10. The Alamo Bowl presented us with the rare opportunity to see the Ducks’ offense directed by the OC hired by MC, but without MC’s influence. All I can say is, “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out MC!” It was both maddening and exciting to see this offense yesterday. Maddening because of how long we had to suffer through MC’s “Early 2000s Bama Offense”. Exciting because those young, talented WRs let loose was a sight for sore eyes. Yes, the 1st half was tough to watch, but IMO, that was more a function of poor play/decisions by AB and dropped passes than play-calling. Think about it, if MC had been coaching down 30-3 to start the 3rd quarter he would have run the ball three straight times. For that, and the revelation that he is the ONE responsible for the pathetic offense, I will not miss him.
  11. No more timeouts called on the first play of the 1st or 3rd quarters.
  12. Have no idea if it’s true, just the latest I’m seeing . . .

  14. Lot of coach-speak about Miami, but none of that bothered me the way this did: “We went in there thinking a certain game plan would give us the best chance, and that’s what we went with, so we stuck with that decision.” - MC Acknowledging something wasn’t working but, rather than adjusting, sticking with it anyway is the most revealing - and troubling - take-away from this presser. Why? Because . . . physicality?
  15. While we wouldn’t describe the Ducks’ performance week to week as consistent, they are, however, very consistent at surprising us. Surprises are based on expectations, and expectations differ by individual. That said, some of you may or may not relate to my observation: For better or worse, the Ducks continually surprise me. They struggle/lose in games I fully expect them to win, and often win games I legitimately believe they’ll lose. Let’s focus on the good surprises. W against #7 Wash., 2018 W against #5 Utah, P12 Champ. 2019 W against #13 USC, P12 Champ. 2020 W against # 3 Ohio St., 2021 UCLA is unranked, but based on recent performance, I don’t believe the Ducks will win. Here’s hoping for one of those consistent surprises today; a surprise for me, anyway.
