  1. Talking with friends the other day, I mentioned how I can't believe this would be treated so lightly by a staff when a player died in recent memory.

Maryland offensive lineman Jordan McNair showed signs of extreme exhaustion, had difficulty standing upright while running sprints and had a temperature of 106 degrees before he died of heatstroke, multiple sources told ESPN.

nothing I see over the past 2 years at Florida State offensively has me really fired up in any way.

Seems they were pretty bare when Jimbo left, so not hard to believe that's going to take a little time to fix after Willie. I'd say look more at Memphis in 2017/18 and Auburn '19. Memphis in those years put up some particularly good numbers.

I hate it when I'm busy and read an article and assume it's today's. Yes, last year's article. Interesting that the Pitt page of coaches has no OC listed. Marion is receivers coach.

Their OC was just hired by Frost in Lincoln. Think there's a good chance Marion steps into the OC role at Pitt, but he was a name that interested me for us.

  4. Honestly, the rumors have been out there since last season, so I very much doubt anyone was taken aback by this when fans have been expecting it. We don't get to peek behind the curtain and do we even wanna know how the sausage is made?

If a hire is made by next week (and I expect it will), do you think they're just shooting from the hip and didn't already have mechanisms in place?

  5. Yes, the sentimentality is something that needs to be resigned to wistful moments with a glass of brandy when looking at a snowy winter evening. It's a nice memory but it's gone.

What is needed is a good coach who knows the golden opportunity that's being handed to them here and doesn't need to be in their hometown to make magic happen.

  6. I've had a weird gut feeling about him leaving since late September. May come true, may not, but I'm not worried about it. As much of a loss as I am about who the HC target would be, I'm sure there is one and I'm sure no one in charge at UO or Nike would be unprepared.

  7. I haven't posted too much, but do read a good chunk. Would be happy to donate, probably come the new year once holiday expenses aren't in my picture. Would also consider being a moderator, kinda waiting to see how my current job situation and time pans out.

Think my only suggestion would be to have identical/very similar threads combined. I'm sure more mod assistance would help this process.

I am not convinced that being the head coach at Akron is an upgrade from being the OC at Oregon.

Must be a real personal decision for him I guess. Hope it's not partially due to not having a shared vision with Cristobal.

Was discussing this with my buddies earlier. My thought is maybe he's looking for a little less stress after what happen with his health. Running the show might not seem like less stress, but OC at Oregon (with all the stressors of national recruiting and being in the spotlight constantly) might not be as cozy as being in charge at a school where you probably recruit a few states and bowl status would be parade-worthy.

Of course it could also mean he hates Mario or the floor's about to be pulled out and everyone's leaving!

Of course of course, it could also mean none of these things and he just wants to be a coach.

  9. I'm currently in Maui on vacation and walked into the hotel restaurant  to watch the game and what do I find? A table of people wearing purple (one guy played for UW in the 60s - didn't get a name). It was actually a really nice time and we had a great chat and two people even said they were rooting for us to make the playoffs.

The sound wasn't on during the game but heard from a few people that they found RGIII refreshing and I'm thinking I would agree. I dig when it's not commentators not delivering cliches over and over again.
