I believe it’s fine the way it is as each member can choose their path on how they participate within the site. i have never gone to the news link. I have subscriptions with the other sites and have for years and therefore I haven’t needed to access the link. I am addicted to our beloved Ducks and have been since 1990. It doesn’t matter Charles honestly for me as I come to the site to read everybody’s posts and comments. I visit this great site at least 5 times a day to see if there is anything new. It’s great to be a Duck, but, it’s even better to be a FishDuck!

I do believe we will fall to the Buckeyes at home. Then we will beat them in the conference championship game. Then we will win the Natty this year

Bill was just a good dude. He was a true Deadhead. I loved his broadcasting and he loved rooting for our Beloved Ducks. I never met Bill, however, my dad and older brothers knew him well. Bill grew up in La Mesa, CA and went to Helix High School which is where I grew up and went to High School (12 years later). One of my brothers, who played for San Diego Stare, used to tell me about how much fun it was to play against Bill when the Aztecs played against UCLA one year. He will be missed. He accomplished so much and you could tell he just loved life. He used to have a speech impediment that was really tough and made it very hard to understand him. He was able to improve to where he was great in the booth. I don’t know where I’m going with all this. Keep smiling and telling stories wherever you are Bill.

It’s absolutely the truth and it is sad, however, there is always a new day and I know our beloved ducks will be good no matter what is put in front of us.

Great story! Fun read!

Charles, I hope I’m doing this correctly as this is my first post. You are a great Duck and should be in the Hall of Fame. It was shortly after we lost to Auburn in the Championship Game if I remember correctly that Fishduck the website was born. Your site has been viewed by me almost everyday and most days multiple times a day since then. I consider you a friend even though we’ve never met. It was approximately 4 or 5 years we talked on the phone as I was going to help write some articles. I ended up telling you I couldn’t as life got in the way. I felt I let you down. I am sorry. You have always been right there for all of us and most of the time we had no idea of the stress and money doing what you love and in turn providing us a forum to do what we love. I love following my Ducks and you have made that so easy to do for the last 10 years. You are and always will be loved and appreciated by everyone here. Thank you Charles. Also, as you may not remember, I graduated from San Diego State in 1987 and moved up to Portland in 1992. Now I’m in Walla Walla, Washington and I feel sad for the people that root for the other two other schools around me. Every Saturday I would watch the Ducks and then couldn’t wait to get the Oregonian and read about the game in the paper. My first mortgage client was a Duck and I have been bleeding yellow and green for the last 30 years. My second client was a beaver. I have rejoiced every day since then. Thanks again Charles and I’ll be here every day (I get so much enjoyment reading what everyone has to say) until…well…always.
