    (And USC did get a "B"...)  😆

USuCk is stooping to new lows, hoping that transfers from the Beavers will solidify their D.  Wow!  Never in my life did I think that the Condoms would have to rely on Beaver castaways.  Let the good times roll!

  2. According to the Register-Guard: "Austin was arraigned at the jail on Wednesday and was charged with failure to perform duties of a driver to seriously injured persons."

I have absolutely NO inside information, but the fact that it does not appear that Austin was charged with DUI, MIP or Manslaughter leads me to believe that the Eugene police believe his only crime was not remaining at the scene.

His next court appearance is May 22, but I expect that we'll get more details from the UO/his attorney/the press in the next few days.  It wouldn't surprise me if a statement is made late tomorrow, to limit the distribution of the story by national media to over the weekend and not during the busier weekday news cycle.

One would think given the name and Rutgers parallel that Eugene and Clifford would be related. Turns out not though, as Omoruyi is a fairly common Nigerian name and there is not a family connection.

Thanks for the correction. My mistake just goes to prove the old adage of what happens when you ASSUME something ...

  4. As I surmised, Oquendo is transferring.  He could attack the basket, but he could not be relied upon to hit the 3 and his defense was less than stellar so Dana moved him down the rotation.  It's too bad he was unable to better assimilate;  I had higher hopes for him.  Good luck to him wherever he lands.

Oquendo averaged 7.2 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.0 assist for the Ducks

  5. Tony Stubblefield is returning to help coach and recruit for the men's program.  I believe this is big news.  The Ducks were playing last season without its' full allotment of coaches and it is clear that Dana really wanted Stubblefield back.

Assuming the Ducks can add a couple of quality transfers (another big and a good shooting wing that can play D) to a core returning linuep of Bittle, Shelstad, Tracey, Barthlemy, Cook and probably Evans (I'd be surprised if Oquendo returns), I believe that the Ducks will again be dancing in 2025.

Stubblefield, who spent 11 seasons working as an assistant at UO, is returning to Dana Altman’s staff.

  6. Well ....

Too many turnovers (9), but much better the last 10 minutes.

Even on the boards, but the Gamecocks got too many offensive boards early

(the other) USC has four 3 pointers, not bad, but that foul on a 3 point shot (which allowed 2 made free throws) hurt.

Even with all of that, Ducks lead by 5 after desperate heave by S. Carolina.  Take care of the basketball, attack the basket, get the ball down low to Dante and make free throws and the Ducks advance.

    Go Ducks!!!

I don't understand people who stand all the time. They can't see any better, and they block the people behind them.

I had season tickets for 20 years.  Now I go to a couple of games a year.

I like to stand.  It's really hard on my back and hips to sit on the bench seating for 3+ hours.  And as a larger person (6'4"), there is often not enough leg room to sit comfortably and I have to fight for hip space when I am sitting.  If there is a stadium seat in front of me, forget about it.   Sitting is no longer a reasonable option.

And I can no doubt see better.

That being said, I am conscious of those around me and try and make friends and ask where I can stand to hopefully not obstruct their view too much.

    That's my experience, anyway.

Oregon also failed to get consistent pass rush on him. I feel that was a a major flaw in Lanning and co's game.plan against the Huskies.

If they schemed up some better pass rush and managed the line of scrimmage better those games end differently.

I believe the Ducks D regularly put Penix in peril during the first game.  The second game I was yelling at my TV “If you’re going to blitz, you’ve got to get there!”  I have not studied the reason for the different results, but I assume UW adjusted their protection.

Like others, I also believe that the Ducks D injured Penix’s midsection (Ribs?) and he never fully recovered and he aggravated the injury during the championship game.  He couldn’t afford to stand in the pocket and take a hit.

All of that aside, Penix and Andrew Luck were the 2 best quarterbacks I have seen throw the deep ball in tight windows.

    My $.02.

  9. I have absolutely no inside knowledge, but I believe that the Ducks made a deal with Bo that if he came back one more season they would limit his runs and protect his NFL draft status.

With Gabriel, I don't believe there is the same concern and I bet he's getting NIL $ with an agreement he will run the ball when necessary.

But what do I know?  Just my $0.02.
